Can someone please tell me what kind of bug this is? Found in northern Ohio. Very friendly, didn't seem dangerous at all.

If there really are less deer, elk, & moose in the US today because of wolves, have pronghorn populations gone up?
>>2433230
Yes, less to do with wolves though and more to do with not being hunted to extinction anymore.
Habitat destruction. We still have a shit ton of deer though. They just got pushed out of many places.
Wolves have overhunted their prey but wolves don't have a lot of space in the US either.
Pronghorn are so interesting
Based on the sites I consulted (https://www.alleycat.org/resources/kitten-progression/ & http://www.boutiquekittens.com/Kitten-Development.206.0.html) they would be newborns. The second page shows them with their eyes open on week two, but these don't even have their eyes open yet (I will post a picture from my phone on next post). I have cats and I have taken care of kittens before, but only when I had their mother too; the only time we tried to take care of orphans (they were like a few weeks old when abandoned) they ended up dying because of a skin disease. The thing is that I have these kitten-feeding bottles and I don't have kitten milk right now but I'm trying to feed them lactose-free milk, however, they don't seem to recognize the feeding bottle. I have made sure the kittens are warm, the milk is lukewarm, and the holes in the bottles are big enough; but they won't suck on the bottles. I think they might be hungry because they were awake for a couple minutes and three of them were licking each other's faces (I guess looking to suck on the mom?), but even when I put the tip of the feeding bottle inside their mouths they wouldn't start sucking. I squeezed the bottle and dropped a drop of milk inside the white one's mouth and he/she licked it, but it didn't start sucking on the bottle anyway. I guess their survival chances are like 10-20% even if I take good care of them, but if they don't suck the bottle then it's GG right? Should I just look for a way to end them with mercy (How?), or how long will they take to starve? Right now I'm waiting a couple minutes to see if they get really hungry, but it seems like they fell asleep again after yelling for a few minutes. I'll post pics from my phone in the next posts.

The other one is out of frame, sleeping too.
>>2433010
These are the bottles.
They were found roughly 4 and a half hours ago, so even if the mother fed them right before, they should be pretty hungry. However they're all asleep right now, are they dying already?
I follow some dog instagrams but I'm wondering if anyone follows any /herp/, /aq/, birb, or plant ones.
Please share! (I'll post the ones I know too)

I stumbled across a youtube video of a cat having an asthma attack earlier and realized this is exactly what my 4 year old cat has been doing on and off for years. I always assumed he was just trying to cough up a hairball, but upon further reflection I've never actually seen him throw anything up. He's always been a tiny bit wheezy, mostly when he's sleeping or all stretched out relaxing, but I always just wrote it off as a quirk, like how some people snore and some don't.
He's due for a yearly checkup so I'll be asking the vet about it soon. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone here has had experiences with this and could offer advice, treatment methods that are especially helpful, etc? He doesn't ever seem to have trouble breathing aside from those occasional asthma attacks, which happen about once every month or two. Normally he's romping around chasing his siblings no problem - but sites do label it as chronic and progressive, so will it get worse?
Sorry to do this, but - bump.
My maine coon cat had asthma. I can't remember the name of the medication the vet put him on but its use in humans was to induce labor. It mostly cured him of the attacks. I'll look up the name of the medicine when i get home. He had to take a pill everyday so it was a pain

Thanks for your response. Did you ever use an inhaler/nebular on him?
Guys! We gotta call quick or we'll never get the free Elephants issue!

I asked for these consistently for ten years and I never got them. Instead I still and hide encyclopedias from the public library.
I vaugely remember Big Cat Diary airing the morning before it was all reruns. Or maybe they were still reruns. I don't remember many morning cartoons up until the 2000s and by then I mostly missed the bus watching Buffy.
Why is there a whole board for the Pink Floyd album Animals?
Dogs is the best song.
If you disagree you're a confirmed pleb.
>>2432389
Either dogs or pigs
>>2432398
Acceptable.
Dogs is the true pleb filter though. Everybody likes Pigs.
So this tick was just pulled off my leg.
Can you tell how long it's been there by how engorged it is?

Why the fuck would you take a ventral pic for this specific thing? It's like asking a doctor to take a look at your arm and shoving your hand in their face. Take a dorsal picture.

I watched a beetle struggle on it's back for awhile, trying to make him believe in itself but he needed a hand so I helped him back over.
Do you do small favors, /an/?
I sometimes do.
I wonder if i should interfere with the course of things.
I help snails cross the road by picking them up.
I used to feed spiders by giving it q tips with ants on it. There were so many cocoons.
Is the Kenyan sand boa a suitable beginner snake?
My 3 Buenos Aires tetras recently died after I cared for them for nearly 4 years, and I became interested in converting their tank (15 gal) for a snake.
I have no previous snake or reptile experience. I'm assuming I would need a heat lamp and some type of loose substrate, but what else?
And as they are dimorphic, I would probably purchase a male just to be on the safe side in terms of size.
A female would cause you no harm at their full size. They aren't dangerous.
Snake care is easy. To me just about any snakes are beginners level if they aren't 10ft+ or venomous, or known to be highly aggressive since an angry snake is a pain. Kenyans are pretty chill.
I keep my snakes on newspaper just fine.
They're easy. Use shredded aspen as your substrate so your snek can burrow in it. Under tank heater for heating. And a thermostat to regulate it.
>>2431637
This. But depending on your snek expect to not see it very often, sometimes mine sticks his head out but sometimes I don't see him ever. QT at fuck but really doesn't even tolerate being out, just wanting to burrow the entire time.
Would you fight a cassowary 1vs1 naked with no guns for ten bucks?

I'll do it for 12,50

That does not even cover the minimal medical expenses.

No, I am not retarded.
Reminder: If you own any pets then your house smells.
You're just unaware of it because you're used to it.
No one mentions it because they don't want to offend you.
i went to my aunt's today and her house was so fucking gross and dirty i got sick and had to leave
>your house smells
Good thing it's MY house then
>you're unaware of it because you're used to it.
So there isn't a problem then.
>No one mentions it because they don't want to offend you.
If people want to be with me so badly they're willing to sit in a stink infested house for hours, I'll just have to take that boost to my self esteem.

Every animal has it's own unique scent.
Even humans.
Is this normal cat behavior? Whenever I approach her she just drops on the floor, meows and rolls around on her back.
Should I be worried? I've had her for around a year, a friend moved away and I took her in.
>>2433203
Give her the belly rubbin'
>>2433203
That's normal, she's just very relaxed around you and may attention. I suggest petting her on he back and cheeks, a lot cats don't like getting belly rubs.
If she were falling over for no reason and not just when you approach her, take her to the vet.
>>2433210
>show your relaxed kitty you want to attack it
It's not a dog
Any idea what's growing on my German Shepherd's leg? Small squishy/fatty sack that I just noticed. Doesn't bother him.
>>2433152
You know who would know something like that? A vet.
These little assholes just ruined my swimming vest. What type of caterpillar or larvae is this? Should I be worried that they might spread to my other clothes?
