I'm a long time lurker. I've seen /x/ churn out intelligent discussions (spiritual threads), actively cooperate to acieve a common goal (cicada) - even debate controversial topics (9/11). In b4 /x/ was never good.

Look at /x/ now. How the mighty has fallen. Each day brings several flat earth posts, neck beards roleplaying some 'huge conspiracy' with no evidende and hundreds of fucking autist keyboard jockeys posting completely unfeasible or idiotic responses.

We need to clean this shit up, /x/. Lets get us back to an actual reliable source of intelligent discussion, not remain as the laughing stock of 4chan.

This can be achieved if we stick to posting guidelines like:

-Dont encourage faggotry
-RP elsewhere
-Conspiracy posts to have some plausibility or evidence
-Don't contribute to shitposts. Let them RIP with zero comments
-Post engaging, thought or conversation provoking content

I dont have much time but please listen to what im telling you all. I just got in from Antarctica. Stationed there for the past 18 months. Its time for you all to go to your loved ones and i find somewhere safe. I wish i could say that it will pass but i cant. What we found is evil. Some sort of self replicating humanoid. It was dormant, frozen if or sort of. All i know is that its fucking scary as hell and there seems to be no way to stop it. Im taking such a huge risk talking about this but it doesnt matter. We are all fucked. Im almost done packing about 5 min out then im destroying this device. How do I change how I feel /x/?
I feel so depressed all the time, every day all I look forward to is going to sleep again and hope I don't have dreams. I often think about killing myself but I can't bring myself to do it because I'm afraid of failing or of there being an afterlife where I have to continue existing. I feel so alone, nothing brings me any enjoyment. I am still young and I feel like I will never experience joy, happiness or love. The love of my life left me and I feel as though I have been abandoned. I have no job, goals or prospects. I think about trying drugs more but I know it probably won't help and that I am not a strong enough person to deal with them.

Thalassophobia.
Every single thing about large bodies of water freak me out. I can't even bear to swim in my local river for fear of something hiding inside of it. Pic related. That shit gave me nightmares as a kid.

It is unavoidable that we will see the end of the world, sometime in the future. I would even go as far as saying it will be within the next 100 years. But with how many different ways we could go, how will it happen?

Will it be by natural causes?
Will it be by humans?
Do you think there will be any survivors?
Do you look forward to it?
I honestly think it could be a combination of human and natural causes. Yellowstone volcanoes could push an apocalypse off to a strong start. WW3 could be massive enough to wipe us all out. I don't think it will all happen at once, it will likely get worse and worse over the course of a few months/years until we are all gone.

I am very confident it will happen within my lifetime. I am not afraid of it, but I hope it is not soon. I could actually say I am somewhat excited to see it. Humans have been around for thousands of years, life has been around for millions, and after billions of people have come and gone, we get to witness the end of it all. we get to be a part of the biggest finale to this planet in its 4 billion years.
