Whant to start pic related, but I cant decide the best version of this, I do have a PC and a RGB modded N64 with expanssion pack inserted hooked to a Sony BVM monitor . What do? Which version is the superior one? Also Turok 2 Thread I guess

Getting absurdly lost while killing dinos with possibly the most fun arsenal of weapons assembled in history: the game

I always liked Turok 2 but it hits it's tedious parts a bit quickly. I think turok 1 was a little more approachable. Good luck OP
>>
I can't go back to fuzzy super duper low res n64 graphics so I would have to do it on PC somehow EVEN if it's emulation.

Are you playing Grand Edition? What country did you pick?
>>
>>3540134
I played the original back in the day, so yeah, now started on the Grand Edition. Gonna go through most countries I think, so I went with the default which is Almekia. Don't really care much for it, but it's a good time I guess. Just defeated the Empire as my first enemy and Lance got coronated and promoted into a new class.

I fear I might have taken a bit too much time prepping and getting the downlow of the game that I gave Norgard and batshit clown's kingdom too much of a space to spread. On the plus side, one of the first battles I had, that skull guy attacked me. I made him retreat, but not before he left behind a bahamut and a vampire lord that didn't get to retreat so my forces got much more powerful from the get go.

Good game, but it gets kind of repetitive, also can be a bit overwhelming when you start it if you fuck around for too long.

SFC cable is like 1 meter long. Way too short imo.
NTSC SNES has those nasty X and Y buttons and dull colors, but at least the cable is long.
So really, the winner here is the PAL SNES controller.

This thread is for discussion of vertical and horizontal shooting games.

I was just playing Dragon Breed from Irem. This is a seriously cool game. Your hitbox is the rider, and you can move the dragon's body to attack and defend. You can also dismount on platforms and move the rider around to attack and pick up items.

Just got into Cybattler recently. Really cool game if you're a Gundam fan because it basically is Gundam without the license.

And while the beam guns are still really useful, it's way too satisfying to not try and hack down every enemy with the beam saber.

Also, as a huge tip for Dragon Breed: Always try to keep the yellow powerup for as long as you possibly can. If you tap up then down with precise timing the dragon will wrap its body around the rider making you practically invincible for one full second!

yep awesome game. probably one of the best western FPSs, if not the only out one, out there
>>
I tried getting into this game several times, the last one before a couple of days ago.

I don't understand what's the big deal about this game. It's average at BEST.

Level design is incredibly subpar. For the most parts, the layouts are on the level of shitty Duke Nukem 3D 1996 usermap, everything is undertailed and empty, and there isn't even a single sector effect or anything to spice things up.
Hell, they managed to make the Dark Forces engine look worse 2 YEARS after DF. Let's also not forget that this came out during 1997, Quake was out and the Build Engine was at its apogee, and the only thing this offers is the possibility to have true 3D sector over sector and it's barely used to its potential as everything could be done the same in Build.

The art style is also subpar. Looks like babies first textures and sprites, again it's a level of a shitty DN3D TC from back then.

Then there is gameplay, which is incredibly unbalanced (both enemies and your weapons), the dynamites are a joke, they feel like they're not even finished (just compare to Blood's dynamites for instance, from the same year...), and let's also not forget that every single enemy is hitscan and that they're pretty much ALL the same.

The only good thing in this game is the functionning rifle zoom scope; and even then it's incredibly OP as fuck gameplay wise.

So what, what's the big deal with this game? Did everyone fall for Lucasart's big advertising money ?

Console Relevant Technology edition

Previous thread >>3510016

This thread is for the spirited discussion of CRT displays - Televisions, monitors and projectors used for the playing of retro games!

>Try to keep it /vr/-related: Nothing past 5th gen(+Dreamcast). Slight OT might be okay if related to CRTs (E.G. 16:9 compatible models, flatscreens, etc.) Systems with backwards compatibility are also pretty safe territory, assuming you're focusing on the older games. PC CRTs are also a-ok.
>Produce OC! Get out your real cameras and take beautiful pictures of your CRTs displaying recognizable characters with the kind of beautiful accuracy that brings tears to the eyes of young and old alike! If you take 100 photos, at least one of them will turn out alright! (maybe)
>Try to be as detailed as possible when asking info on a specific model. As always, google is your friend, and we are your friends with benefits. Older archived threads aren't a bad place to look either.
>Share appreciation for others choice of technology and personal philosophy of gaming. As always show courtesy in your discussion and moderate yourselves first.

Discussion of video processing and scaling devices is okay, but try to keep the focus on CRTs and CRT accessories
