>my main setup is a Sony android TV running emulators and played using a PS4 controller
Time for some confessions.
I typically play retro games in the hacked Wii mode on a Wii U over HDMI, even though I have an AV Famicom and an EverDrive N8 hooked up to a PVM on my desk.

Sounds very convenient, actually. Never gave a fuck about CRT meme, it's ancient and flicker makes my eyes weary.

Retropie on Raspberry 3, sue me
So what spooky games are you playing this month?

I have a list but i haven't even started.
Nocturne X
Silent Hill
RE, 2, Code Veronica
Illbleed
Carrier
Enemy Zero
D
D2
Blue Stinger
Dead Diva
Clocktower(SNES)
Majuu ou
Shadow Tower.
Probably going to take a try at illbleed today but yeah.

Illbleed is an odd duck dude. If you haven't played it before I honestly recommend streaming it if you are into that kind of shit, or playing it with a friend.
It's generally not scary at all and halfway into it the game starts being a parody of itself. There is no story, you just have these different skirmishes basically that you choose from a hub of sorts. Gameplay has some original ideas but generally combat is tedious and is truly best avoided.
I had fun with it because I streamed it for a couple of friends and we were laughing the whole time, but it's something I will definitely never ever replay. Go in with extremely low expectations.
What did you think of crash bandicoot two
The very definition of 'perfect sequel'. Not a perfect game but it is everything a sequel should be

Why are stuff like NFL '98 on here and gems like Gunstar Heroes not on here?
>>3551561
It was a dudebro system.
Because NFL 98 was really fucking amazing and Gunstar Heroes was some nerd shit.
>>3551565
No lies there.
Which non-Nintendo handheld has the best native game library? Ignoring things like installing an emulator on a PSP.

There's a lot of great games on the game gear
How do you play this game? I appear to be getting my ass destroyed. Even my unstoppable cute girl team isn't cutting it.
In the ps1 version you press the shoulder buttons to unleash super moves.
I remember playing this game at a friend's house with a bunch of other kids. Never played the game before and I destroyed them all, like I didn't lose a single match.
Lots and lots of zone control and trapping. It's a very hard game to play aggressively, the main thing is not to give any openings to your defense and to keep up the pressure constantly.
What's the best gamepad for emulation and general PC gaming use? Preferably that isn't ridiculously expensive.
Do you buy separate pads for 2d and 3d games?
F310s get the job done for cheap. But you could certainly do better.
Probably outdated for modern PC gaming, but I use generic Dualshock shaped PC gamepads for emulation and never want for anything.
I still have a fuck ton of Gravis branded gamepads from the mid-2000s that I keep in rotation. I don't think they make anything anymore, but it seems if you google "gamepad USB" instead of "game controller" or whatever you find the goldilocks zone of quality-cheap.
Emulation controllers don't need to be sensitive or responsive. Almost all retro game systems had zero sense of pressure or any degree of sensitivity - they only knew if you were pressing the button or not. Modern controllers are way way more advanced in that sense, and you wind up paying much more as a result.
Only other thing I'd mention is to avoid retro branded or marketed USB controllers. Don't buy something shaped like an NES pad with $2 worth of shit in it for $60.
Some of the Sega Saturn USB controllers are very good. The Saturn controller is by far the best 2D pad of all time, and will suit games from most consoles.
I'll start- Paradroid. Love exploring the ships and taking over other bots.
Another great one- Impossible Mission. Good mix of puzzling and action
Last one from me- Cybernoid. Interesting futuristic shooter
tower toppler was the shit. think it was called nebulus on other platforms
Any guides on fixing non working original game boy games?
It passes the gameboy splash screen without a blackbar or fucked up letters but after that its just blank screen.
Anyone have any tips aside qtips on contacts
Rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth to clean the contacts. If that fails, get yourself a big pencil eraser (the kind you hold, not the ones actually on the end of pencils) and have at it.
Clean the contacts with Brasso you fucking idiot.

Don't listen to this troll.
Who else is in love with this game?
>>3551156
Liete is my waifu
I played the heck out of this game. The exploratory/adventury feel was a highlight of my childhood.

Finally someone with good taste like me.
Feena a shit
Sue a shitGrandia a shit too, to be honest family
Well /vr/, it's october and halloween is getting closer every day. Post horror, spooky, creepy, or halloween theme'd games you like or think are cool. This game is honestly alright for an atari 2600 game. The music sounds cool and you get one of the earliest gore from a head decapitation in a video game.
I usually like to play castlevania games, super ghouls n ghost, zombies ate my neighbors and castle of illusion around this time. Haven't played the splatterhouse games in 15 years but those would be fun, too bad they cost a fortune so it might be time to finally get some everdrives and join the new age for my oldass.
Japanese Pixels looks OK.

This is actually a thing?
>>3550987
So… It says it's Pac-Man X Kamen Rider, basically? Oh, how long had it been since we had last Pac-Man cameo? 5 days?
Can we take a moment to talk about the Sega CD? I'm nearing the end of Snatcher and I'm gonna hop into Sega CD after that. How does pic related hold up? What else is a must-play on the thing?
>>3550984
Whoops,
>hop into Sonic CD
Lunar: The Silver Star and Eternal Blue are must play RPGs on the Sega CD, IMO better than the remakes. (or at least worth playing first).
>>3550984
No.
Is the PSIO a good flash cart to run PS1 games on?
Can't find much info on it other than it runs games.
>>3550904
It has slightly faster load times (think PS2 fast disc mode) and other than that does what it says on the tin.
If you don't mind dropping $100 something on a PS1 and then a very minor solder job then I don't see why not.
Why get a flash cart when ps1 games are so cheap still. You can get like carts of games for like 20 bucks from people trying to unload them on some one
>>3550947
Find me a copy of Tron Bonne for $20. Also the PS1 is prone to melting the plastic on the laser assembly, it also opens you up to play translation projects and the such without burning a disc
Which one's better?
