It includes PJ64 fully up to date and more. It includes Azimer's, Angrylion's, GLideN64, and z64gl (purplemarshmallow fork).
If you wanna play World Driver Championship, use z64gl and Azimer's.
So basically it's project64 with some improvements and no malware bullshit? Excellent, how stable is this?
>>2937654
>Excellent, how stable is this?
Not stable at all, to be honest. It won't BSOD you, but PJ64 is in a rather unstable state right now. It refuses to boot for some people, and it will crash if you press F12 immediately after booting a game and stuff like that.
But yea, basically, free of malware and with some extra bits and bobs vanilla PJ64 doesn't include.
why can't I get angrylion's plugin to work? I always get a 'rdp_conf.bin no found' or 'unidentified microcode' error.
I recently bought pic related, primarily so that I could sit back on my couch and play the original 2 DOOM games on my Ps3. I have played DOOM before, and although the BFG edition controls like a dream and seems to be largely untouched, It sounds like absolute ass. The guns sound like they are underwater, the enemies are almost silent (including Imps and fireballs), and music is negligible. It is like watching The Simpsons after it has been dubbed over by french voice actors. Anyone else have this issue? Can it be fixed?
>>2942556
I never noticed any of these playing them. Its not 100% like the originals, but i hardly noticed a major difference in sound like you are describing.
>>2942615
This is major. If the actual game wasn't such an enjoyable experience I wouldn't be playing it because of the sound. I'd play it on PC, but the controls on Ps3 are much more comfy
>>2942632
So use your DS3 on pc
What are some 480i/480p retro games?
Virtua Fighter 2 on Saturn
Resident Evil 2 on N64 (it alternates between 240 sometimes)
>>2942317
forgot to add, besides dreamcast, it would make the thread pointless
>>2942325
Besides IBM PC as well? Because there's a ton of 640x480 games for DOS and Windows.
FM Towns had it as the default resolution though a lot of ports had letterboxing.
MS DOS probably holds the award for most nostalgic games
>Shadows of Darkness
I have very vague but very fond memories of this game. I was super young and would watch my brothers play it. One thing I remembered in particular was the little girl and her monster friend, and the guy who hung himself. When I was little, I remember my brothers laughing their asses off at this game and I never understood why. Watching the game now, I get it, the game was hilarious lol.
2spooky4me
A great Quest for Glory game.
>QFG5 should have kept this style.
>>2941691
I hate garlic.
Whats a good comfy game for a VR anon and his GF to play all day, snowed in with a blizzard?
We jammed on SimCity (SNES) pretty hard a few years ago, went well - you guys think Pac-Man 2 is too bizarre? Was also thinking Super Mario RPG.
Did our community ever come up with a consensus as to which is the definitive version of Harvest Moon?
inb4 wife, no retron in this cabin
Kirby, Mario Kart, any cute game with co-op option.
No go brag about your GF to one of the normalfag boards
>>2935530
>cute game with co-op option
Hit me. Been trying to think of one and I'm coming up dry. Like fucking goof troop or something? I'm not about to pull that shit where you hand controller 2 to someone and say "you can be Tails"
If you can pull it off, each of you play one of the scenarios of RE2, and swap when you complete the first one. Planning on doing that with my "boy_friend
I love quake, I really love it.
I wish that the following would happen:
>Community picks out something like 30 - 60 levels that have been made over the years that can be split into 6 - 8 episodes that are thematically different.
>Each level is unanimously considered better than any content in the original game
>Levels are built into the episodes in a way that makes sense from a difficulty perspective
>New hub world is built to encompass the 6 - 8 episode portals
>Beginning of episode level is always a base map, which were one of the best bits in the original
>End of episode level is reworked to include a rune
>After all runes are collected, end level or level series opens up. Again, best level/levels as decided by community, ideally with a decent end boss/bosses.
Is this to much to ask? Almost all of the content pretty much exists already.
>>2930916
Sounds line you should play Doom instead.
>>2930916
The problem with the Quake community is that it has three different styles of game, hence the community is split three ways in a way unlike Duke3D and DOOM are because they effectively only have the one game to work with.
Q1 is radically different from Q2 is radically different from Q3, with all subsequent games borrowing from one of those three. Saying that, though, those subsequent games are either derivative of 2 or 3 - Q1 thematically and in terms of gameplay stands alone outside of its expansions, so it probably doesn't even receive a third of the community's attention - far less, in fact. That's a real shame because it really was the best one and its only real flaw is that it isn't the newest engine.
Also, again contrasting the more active modding communities of Duke and DOOM, it's fully 3D, so creating a map requires more time, and creating a GOOD map requires so much more than that.
Lastly, Quake 1 had FANTASTIC mods and maps made - the best Quake modders and mappers, though, used that expertise they gained working on Q1 to launch into professional careers.

ur welcome
if you are worried about infection with anything just run the zip through virustotal.com
Where does she rest, anon?
Do you know?
Let's find her, together.
So basically, I don't fucking know how to find lost shit. But, when u get a bunch of artists together, shit pans out. Hell, I was an OP on /co/ that started a mass search for some shitty bootleg sponge Bob movie, and that fucking actually got somewhere. We uncovered a huge money laundering scheme and shady BUISNESS stuff, shit was crazy. Did we find the movie? No, but we know where it is, and we know it exists. So come on down and help find some vidya with us!
Bumping for intrest.
>>2930872
we need someone with connections to Bandai. if working prototypes exist (and odds are they do) I'd guess they are in storage at Bandai in Japan. or in possession of a Bandai employee/ex-employee.
You guys ever paid a visit to that Graveyard Duck?
>>2930513
Its bullshit, I never live longer after he gives it to me. Also SQ is the retro game most in need of a remake.
>>2930515
The "Redaction" hack does make the game a lot more playable...
http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Games/Hacking/Hacks/SimonsRedaction.html
>>2930524
I find the game plenty playable already, it's been my favorite CV since it came out. Really the only issue is the translation and that only matters your first time through. But I think a full on remake would be wonderful. No other CV is quite like it.
How do I git gud at run n gun games?
>>2942201
REMEMBER KID
DON'T GET DEAD
>>2942201
memorize enemy placements, pattern, and behaviors and use that knowledge to your advantage.
Step 1: Run
Step 2: Gun
I cannot play Martial Champion without wanting to jack off to Rachael. It's been years since I felt this way about characters in a game. It's not even a good game.
>socks and sandals
C'mon really?Kidding. Holy shit dem thighs.
>>2942228
What's wrong with wearing socks with sandals?
>>2942228
This shit is ridiculous
Why no love for early video game mascots? Has /vr/ completely forgotten about series like Pac-Man and Frogger, or have they just aged that poorly?
Pac-Man did spawn a number of decent platformers in the '90s, although they might have been largely overlooked. And Frogger got a nice reboot during the fifth generation, the first 3D Frogger title being one of the highest-selling games for the PS1 overall. So it seems strange that I've never encountered any discussions about these series here on /vr/.
>>2941992
This was one of my first PS1 games.
I also had that weird "Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge" game.
Anyone else here a completionist when it comes to retro games? Where do you draw the line? Max level? Min-maxing stats? 99 of all equipment?
I'd be curious how some of you guys approach games that don't have entirely clear objectives for a "perfect" save file, like RPGs with mutually-exclusive quests or multiple alignment paths. Games like Elder Scrolls, for instance.
When I play the original Warcraft I can't help but strip the entire map of wood and gold before I finish the mission
I need to beat all the secret/super bosses
that's the main thing really
if I have the option of an easy fight or a hard fight I'll always take the hard way every time
Mainly just play and beat the game. I always go for the hardest difficulty setting and absolutely no cheating or shortcuts. And if there are bonuses such as secret things you can unlock, i have to unlock them all.
Why did they make memory cards for the N64? Why did some games require it for saving?
Devs that cheaped out having a battery on the cartridge.
Think it was suppose to be for large save files.
>>2941896
Why did you post this thread again?
Ok so I come back to /vr/ after several months and now everyone is rude and meemin' it up.
What happened to my vr troopers ;--;
/v/ermins invaded
The old userbase got sick of replying to the same old threads and moved on. I suggest you do the same.
>>2940221
/v/ has ruined /g/, /vr/, and is ruining /a/. What board will /v/ ruin next? Is any board safe?
What are some good N64 games? Also N64 general I guess
>>2939521
Star Wars Episode 1 Pod Racer, the best thing to come out of that movie.
Also Poke'mon Puzzle League
>>2939521
