How's the Spec Ops series on PS1?

Not really good, they were 10 dollar budget games back in 2000.

Nice falseflagging
Just got myself a NES emulator for my laptop as well as Rad Racer and Super Mario Bros ROMS.
Can anyone recommend me some good NES games to play?

BIONIC COMMANDO MUTHERFUCKER!!!
>Let us go out this evening for pleasure.
>The night is still young.
What did he mean by this?
>>2932780
I had to reverse image search just to find out what game that's from. I didn't even know it was possible to get a game over in SotN. You must really suck.
>>2932780
I think it means, "let's go out and party, it's still early in the night"
Meaning you got a game over? Well time to turn off the TV and go out.
>>2932789
Or maybe he's doing a challenge run, thief mode, Hardtype romhack, or simply got surprised by one of the couple of enemies with strong attacks he didn't expect.
well yeah you can die pretty easy when you first get to the inverse castle, since the damage enemies do likely outpaces your defense, you'll die in one or two hits depending on the foe.
anyway, the quote I suppose is psycho richter/dracula suggesting to his vampire concubines that they go out and burn a village or something so they can eat some children and have some fun with a big black magic satan worshiping blood party
How the fuck do I get good in this game?

Houses, markets, farms, wheat storages.
I barely played military maps though.
I was going to reply to this thread and for some reason it got deleted/404.
I don't know what the hell happened, so I'm making a new Goemon thread, and I'll reply to the last poster:
The 5th english-released Goemon title is Ganbare Goemon: Sarawareta Ebisumaru!, originally a Game Boy title from 1991, that got re-released on a Konami collection cart for the Game Boy Color in 1997, and this version was released in Europe in the year 2000. It's a rather obscure release because it's a late GBC game and only in Europe, but that's the last Goemon game that got released in english.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one capable of using wikipedia.
Does anyone know why the GB game released 6 years later is so fucking inferior? Graphics, gameplay, everything. It's mind boggling

>Does anyone know why the GB game released 6 years later is so fucking inferior? Graphics, gameplay, everything. It's mind boggling
They were made by different teams. I know know which Konami team made the Kidnapping of Ebisumaru (I don't think it was the same group that made the FC versions), but Mystery of the Black Ship (the one came out in the US as a stand-alone cart) was made by KCE Nagoya, the same "geniuses" behind Castlevania Legends and the Saturn port of Symphony of the Night.
I really like Goemon 2 (Famicom). I think it's overlooked by most who pay attention to just the SNES/N64 games.

It's time for some Strife!
This game give action of DOOM with the sense of adventure that DOOM lacks! Also, why is this game damn hard?!
>>2930093
>Also, why is this game damn hard?!
I love me some Strife but it's not that hard.
I just beat this last night. I wish there was a sequel or some kind of spiritual successor.
>that futuristic medieval theme
Do you trust me?
Which Genesis 2 model is the best to get? I've heard one of them has horrible sound, and I work a game store which has a Model 2 for sale, and I want to make sure it's the best one before I buy it.

I already have one though.

Get another one.
The mysterious case of Jill Valentine's first portraying actress.
You know the drill.
For the few of you out of the loop:
The identity of "Inezh," portraying actress of Jill Valentine in the first Resident Evil game, remains an unsolved mystery among veteran Resident Evil fans. Officially, she was a high school exchange student with no prior acting experience. Mikami regretted having her on board once production started the shoot at the Tama River. "Inezh" frequently complained about the mosquitos and insisted on wrapping things up ahead of schedule. No one knows where she is now, but I'd be mighty interested to hear her reflect on her experience and, moreover, her side of the story.
Contrary to some rumors, Irish actress Una Kavanagh did not portray Jill, and when asked, she curtly replies, "No" to all inquiries.
last thread someone named her, and the name matched at least a lowres porn found on a couple sites, was it Una Kavanagh that was wrongly name in the thread then?
There's already two fucking RE threads, use one of those.
I'm curious if any retro games came bundled with extensive level editing / modding tools, similar to something like The Elder Scrolls Construction Set. I'm interested in 3D RPGs and action-adventure games specifically.
By "extensive," I mean capable of editing entire maps, importing custom textures and models, importing custom sound files, and the scripting of cutscenes.
Sword of Moonlight: King's Field Making Tool
Not sure about cutscenes, but judging by screenshots, everything else should fit your definition of extensive.

SoM is a great example. I've been playing around with it lately, but like you said, I don't know about cutscene support. It looks like you can give NPCs basic dialogs and specify whether they're standing or sitting, but can't do much else with them.
Then again, the series never had particularly elaborate cutscenes.
>>2926069
What game is that?
So I spent the last hour or so trying to find anything on the internet to sate my curiosity over this, but with no luck.
So this level, at the beginning of World 1-2, in Super Mario Bros. 2 has a jar you drop into which apparently only has a 1-up Mushroom, and serves no other function. As you can see though, the floor can be bombed leading to...somewhere. Everything I've checked makes no reference to this, and I have no idea if it's possible to pull a bomb and see what's down there. So I ask, /vr/: What the hell is under that floor?
Also, general unanswered secrets thread.
in DKC1... in the first level... beginning of the game... you can see a 1UP balloon at the way top of the screen on a tree top, but if you jump or manage to get up there it always disappears... like some weird 1up glitch or something...
The first Wizards and Warriors for the NES, level 2, there's an area of the map that, I swear to God, is impossible to reach. I spent hours trying to get up there, but with no luck. Is it at all possible to actually get up here?
>>2933279
Also, while on the subject, what the fuck does the Cloak of Darkness (that's the name of the power-up, right?) even do? It just turns you "invisible" and plays the potion music, but enemies still attack you, and you take the normal amount of damage (as far as I know). I've never been able to figure out what its actual function was for.
Old thread is here

Old Diablo thread is nearly at bump limit, so here's a new one.
Currently doing a warrior run in Diablo. Going to move onto Diablo II soon. I completed normal mode like 5 years ago and haven't played it since, and I'm planning to do a full playthrough up to the end of hell mode on battle.net. Anybody care to join me?
Anyone have a working upload of the original?
>>2880886
I got mine off of https://archive.org/details/Diablo_1996_Blizzard
The direct download is fairly slow. Haven't tried the torrent. If you're running something newer than XP then you will want to look at this compatibility guide: http://www.lurkerlounge.com/forums/thread-13200.html
If you've run D2+expac already, try doing a MedianXL: Ultimativ run.
Adds like thousands of hours worth of playtime and content, and awesome new skills. Also, the unique looting, disenchanting, and crafting system pleases my loot lust.
ITT discuss games that have ports on multiple platforms, which versions are worth playing and why. Remember, the most powerful hardware =/= the best version of a game.

THE ALPHA 2 PORT ON SNES IS SHIT
PSX ONE HAS MISSING FRAMES SO FUCK THAT
SATURN ALL DAY NIGGA
Now the one I personally wanted to discuss was Dragon Spirit. I expanded the thread to the more general topic because it could be interesting.
Anyway, today I picked up Dragon Spirit for NES even though I already have the TG-16 version. Normally I don't get more than one version of any game unless I absolutely love it but it was cheap so I figured why not. It controls a littler better, has more levels & cinematics between them but I do love the way TG-16 games look & sound. Are both worth keeping or should one just be weeded from the library?
>>2922456
Correct Saturn AND you ideally want the one that came in a double pack with SSFII because it has Cammy as a secret character whereas standard SFAII for Saturn does not.
Let's share some our favorite vidya music, and remember to keep it retro
