Is it even worth buying a legitimate Earthbound copy, or should I just buy a reproduction?
>>2996462
You could spend $200 or you can spend $20.
>>2996462
Emulate or get the Wii U release...if you are one of 10 people who have one.
>>2996462
That is solely up to you, isn't it?
I think there's a decent chance that Earthbound carts haven't hit their max price, if that makes a difference.
Let's settle this matter once and for all: which was the better Chrono game, and why?
http://poal.me/t566xf
come on...
Trigger.
Akira Toriayama.
>>2996438
Trigger, not even an argument.
Is this a good website?
Judging it purely as a website , I think it's rather mediocre. Navigating the side is annoying.
I like the content though.
>>2996142
They could do with a mobile site or app
>>2996130
No. It's corrupt as fuck and their "opinions" are objectively false. They're literal faggots.
What does /vr/ think of hqx filters? Which games do you use them with? Which games look terrible with them?
Not for me
None
All of them
>>2995903
Filters were cool when emulating was still in its infancy. Now they are just eyesores.
>using filters ever
Absolutely disgusting
>incoming 200 images with RetroArch filenames
These threads are just an excuse for autists and shills to wallow in their own cancer
Remember to click the minus button next to OP's post
>remember I had an account on UO:F
>start playing
>remember the only profession for gold is taming
>check guides
>it takes 50 hours to GM and it takes twice as long in reality to get a single gain as it the guide says
>realize it's not the 90s anymore and I don't have to put up with this
>play a better game
I WISH I could get back into UO. I got pretty far a few years back and I still have the account. But holy shit, no fucking thank you to that approach to end game where tamers are much better money makers but taming requires you to play the game like its a job for 8 hours a day.
IDOCING has always been the superior money maker. By 1000x. and requires 0 skill training.
If you weren't a pleb you'd know this.
>>2995603
>requires 0 skill training
maybe if you have young status and you can avoid getting stomped by the 3 other guilds camping it.
>>2995601
Didn't tskr me that long to hit gm taking on uof. Though its boring as fuck to train and play as anyway. A bard archer can be trained in like 10h and can cash in just as much gold and are a lot more fun.
>Haven't played my VC copy of original Zelda in a while
>Pick it back up
>Check my item screen and see I'm not as far along as I thought
>Oh well, I guess it's this dungeon next (go to Dungeon #3 that's marked on the English manual map
>Fucking die right as I get in front of the dungeon
Turns out I had already completed that one too.
Zelda is hard, guys.
>>2995461
You inspired me to play this on my phone so I can curse in public
>>2995697
It's definitely a game best suited for short sittings.
>>2995461
Been playing through Link's Awakening over the past couple of days. I realize now why I loved it so much as a kid. It literally holds your hand most of the way... except for the fucking trading quest...
Would it be possible to get a computer from the mid-late 90s that could play games all the way from that point in time backwards to the earliest computer games, with little to no emulation involved?
I think I'd actually like to, as a hobby, have an old-ass PC and play old Windows and DOS games without having to emulate DOS or run anything in compatibility mode.
Is this doable? How cheaply could it be done? Do you think the novelty would wear off quickly or could it be a genuinely rewarding hobby?
uh, yes. People do it all the time. search youtube for "win98 build"
>>2995437
Cool. Thanks. I have about $100 to throw around, so I guess I can get cracking next weekend.
>>2995353
no, it is impossible. trying to use old computers is against nature and the sweaty astral projection of Steve Ballmer will haunt you screaming "DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS" if you even try.
what is the worst game controller
>>2995321
Your dad
Also, the Dreamcast controller
>>2995321
N64 controller, unless you're an Octopoid of course.
if you played the virtual boy what was your experience?
>>2995281
back pain and eye strain
mine was dizziness
>>2995281
it was fun
what are you playing today?
pic related = my choice

Streets of Rage 2
Asheron's Call
Sleeting outside. Post snow levels.
>>2994950
I love this game!
I wish it was discussed more on here.
I think PS1 could handle Half-Life if they tried hard enough.
Of course it could, it managed Quake 2.
However the levels would be piss short and the transitions annoying as fuck. Also the physics/lighting would be totally static.
It would have worked but been a totally gimped version of the game.
>>2994821
I guess it would look like this

Man that SMG feels so much better than in final version
What went wrong?
CHOOSE!
>>2993903
World
Left to the Star of David. However, SMW is pretty good, I just like the leaf and some of the stages more.
Which are the games with the most beautiful pixel art?
You already posted it.
>>2993881
Yeah I don't think for a second that I could top Metal Slug, although I'm sure there's solid competition out there if you look close enough.
Alien Soldier had some great art in it though.
>>2993881
Never going to win any prizes but I always liked the sprite art and animation of Earthworm Jim.
Why were SMS covers so God awful?
It can't be a coincidence...
>>2993729
I like the master system cases 9 times out of 10.
Like... Jesus...
>>2993729
