Care to help a fellow anon? :(
Game works perfectly fine except when I go underwater. The screen turns pitch black and I can't see jackshit. I managed to pass some parts where you can feel how/where to dive, but I'm stuck in the "A tenuous Lead, Scene 5" part, when I have to escape the boat. I can't beat the game like this.
Nothing in google that I can find to fix the issue, only thing people is saying it's a common problem with intel cards.
Rig:
Asus X555LJ
i7 5500U
Nvidia GeForce 920m + Intel HD 5500
8 Gb RAM
Windows10 x64
Game version:
GOTY
1.004
Observations:
Game doesn't recognize the nvidia card, have to run it with the intel one. When I go to nvidia's control panel it doesn't even show either.
I tweaked all graphic options, still black-water.
Anyone encounter this same issue and knows how to fix it, by any chance? Game is fucking awesome and lots of fun. Enlighten me with your wisdom please /vr/
>mfw use cheat to pass the mission and the next one is a training teaching me how to use underwater gun
I don't know much about PC games, but I got Grim Fandango to work on my Windows 7 by running it through a Windows 98 combatability mode or something.
Sorry I'm not much help.
well, did you try using your integrated intel graphics?
I started playing this for the first time some days ago (pc anniversary edition) and I got hooked really fast. At the beggining I thought it was a really good rpg but about 9 hours in I can't play anymore.
While the graphics are great, the music is really lame, you are going through a cave filled with monsters with the happiest music ever. Also it's linearity is killing me and I can predict what's gonna happen in the story pretty easy. The combat system looked fantastic at first sight but the fights are easy as fuck and you end up with a gazillion coins just to put in skills and magic for no reason, cause as I stated before, is really easy.
Grandia 2 thread I guess, share opinions
You've nailed it, it does not get better.
>>3013047
OP here, could you guys recommend some RPGs, I had a craving for a good RPG and this one disappointed me.
How about the firts one, it's worth playing?
>>3013072
Give it up. None of them are any good.
Does /vr/ know that box?
I assume this is similar to the magnavox.
Grandstand something something
>>3013034
nice drum machine, faggot.
I've just finished FF1 and I was wondering if I should skip 2, I'm not a big fan of "the more you use it the better you get" system ala Elder Scrolls. Is it similar to that? Worse?
Well these games have barely any story and the gameplay is very basic. So yeah, sure, whatever, come back in a few years maybe.
only retro final fantasy worth playing is tactics anyway
If you don't like Elder Scrolls interpretation of it you definitely won't like it in FFII. It DOES have a job system though, like 5 and the current pop icon, Tactics.
Hi there guys, im about to buy what will be my last retro console, the Sega Dreamcast.
Dreamcast is for me the consolidation of an era, a 128bit power machine, within the 5th generation, the best generation of consoles (Ill not discuss my point of view right now we can do it later).
What are the main considerations I have to watch before buying my new system?
Those are my keys:
I live in PAL territory, here where I live I can take one for 60€ more or less.
I want to run "backup" games, the legend tells that de Dreamcast can Run CD-R by default. Is that true?
I wanna play too Japanese games, so, Am I able to play Japanese games in a PAL console as I did with my PSX and PS2?
What about netplay?
There are different console models? I remember seeing one without the network module I think, but not sure.
>>3012790
Thanks for your attention BTW!
Yea they all run CD-Rs by default, and the ISO uploading community provides really quality files that you just put in and play. Check out the isozone.

Nice one, yeah I check isozone almost daily, great page. Thank you so much!

What is the best way to play Blood? Or should I just play the original?
>>3000656
I've played the original enough times.
Been experimenting with the latest version of BloodCM. It's not too bad. It's not perfect, of course.. but we'll never get a perfect port without the source code.
>>3000705
the original is fine I just hate that I can't mouselook at all. Maybe I'm just used to doom
>>3000804
Have you tried bmouse? It makes the mouselook much better.
Hey /vr/
Are there any good japanese exclusives for ps1 that aren't hugely text based that you would recommend?
Platformers etc.
Pic related, Parodius - which was released in Europe but PAL is shit.
>>3012546
Panzer Bandit is a pretty fun brawler.
Learn the language before you miss out on fun.
>>3012551
You seriously think I'm going to spend years learning Japanese just to play video games?
What does /vr/ think of these video upscalers? What are the pros and cons of using them? What are the good brands and models?
posting cause also interested
>>3012531
They tend to trash the colors. Only worth using if you have literally no other choice outside of new hardware.
>>3012545
What do you mean 'trash' the colours? Do they still make analogue signals look better on HDTVs?
What was the most technologically advanced video game for the Atari 2600 which pushed the system to its limits?

I played the shit out of the first two, but never got to the thirdwhich is actually not retro but w/e.Was it as fun?
Not as good as the other two, but stil decent nontheless
Not as good as the other two, but still decent nontheless
Controls are in hidden in a slot for your hands, All the classics... Defender, Pac Man, Elevator Action, Ghost and Goblins, Rally X, Time Pilot, Donky Kong.... And heaps more. Took me about 2 months to build, what do ya think?
It looks uncomfortable to play, like you'd have to sit very low and hands would be in an awkward position to hit the buttons. The screen looks like you'd have to lean over the table to get a good look at what's going on too which is made worse by uncomfortable hand positioning because of button layout. But I'm not hating on you or the table. Good job on building that, especially in 2 months.
Looks pretty cool :)
What'd you use for everything?
When will we see this neglected masterpiece brought into the 21st century?

It's on the virtual store. Wtf does

What the fuck is your post even supposed to mean??
Does vr approve of hooking pcs to retro crt for steam big picture? Sure small text is hard to read but it is actually pretty cool.
Pic related
yeah but it doesn't matter what other people think of how you enjoy your games.
Here's something to have roms loadup from steam, it was a little buggy when i lasted used it but still pretty cool once you get all the settings right
http://scottrice.github.io/Ice/
I don't know what Steam Big Picture is but I'm pretty sure it's not retro. I like your Vectrex though, and those graphics look like an old-school RPG.
Basically if it was on a computer that used composite out like a C64 or MSX or something then it's entirely appropriate to put it on an SDCRT if it was on VGA/RGB like Amiga or DOS use a VGA CRT

A fun, not-oft mentioned strategy game translated by AGTP. Instead of actual war, it's...paintball or something. Fun and cute.
