It seems like they're universally terrible.
hit and run

That was above average and the fourth-wall breaking jokes were not funny at all, and all the other jokes were just jokes from the series.Except the one in the credits
Bart vs the Space Mutants isinventive
>Well, another RPG, let's grab the english dictionar... HOLY SHIT IT'S TRANSLATED
anglos will never know this feel
I wished the games I had weren't translated.
Actually i'm grateful for playing RPG's in english so i can argue about games in english imageboards and play something else than the literally four retro rpg's translated in my language.
Even today in my country there's a massive butthurt everytime it's published a non translated game.
>>3005295
Nigga, are you from Europe? If yes, them I'm almost certain we come from the same country.
I thought it had a decent library but I hate that there's 40 fake games.
>>3005057
The sound quality is terrible and no saving. I got mine for xmas and having been shopping for somewhere to return it for a giftcard or something.
No sonic? He's on the box!
I saw one of these pieces of shit being played by a kid in a local department store on an lcd and it looked truly awful.
.
The Exodus game by far, because of dat fuckin' sword.
Genesis game is better. SNES version gets boring quickly but IMO looks better.
In a vacuum? Virgin. Compared to every other platformer of the same era? Capcom. Virgin at the time was cranking out game after game that all played the same, several of which were based on Disney movies.
Since P.T. has been revived, let's have a thread to discuss the first Silent Hill game.

P.T. has not been revived. A new collaboration has been suggested. It's probably going to be a new IP.
So this just came in the mail today /vr/.
I've only got composite cables to test but so far SNES has been proven to be a huge improvement over the previous TV composite connection I had it connected to.
N64 is giving me some minor trouble when I try to play in 720p with scanlines in 3D platformers in particular.
Both Banjo Kazooie and Mario 64 are giving me this issue when I come up against wall objects where it starts blinking and bluring when walking alongside it.
If I put it in 1080p which discludes scanlines it doesn't give me any problems.
Could the problem be the scanlines?
Gonna try Ocarina of time next and then try some PS2 and Dreamcast as well.
Will likely order some s-video for N64, PS2 and Dreamcast as well.
Thanks for the recommendation by the way.
Oh yeah, also, is there a preferred settings for all the different options I have for the thing?
I also find it interesting that it has audio volume control in the box too.
Update the firmware.
Please order proper rgb cables for any of your consoles that support them.
So are you using Windows 98 for your old games /vr/?
Do you have an actual machine or emulating it? What is your setup?
I am currently looking to get my hands on a Windows 95/98 computer, preferably a laptop or small desktop. I only want to play DOS games and 2D Windows games like Diablo, Starcraft and Simcity and stuff so I don't think I need any fancy Voodoo cards or anything like that.
How much chance do I have of finding one at my local car boot sale? On the one hand I'd expect 90's computers to be super common and dirt cheap these days, but on the other hand I'd also expect them to be fairly hard to find as most people probably assume they're completely worthless and either keep them in their attic or have thrown them out already.
It seems like ordering online is always going to cost more for computers because they're heavy and therefore cost a lot to post.

>maze screen saver
So fucking mad this was never made into a game
>>3004836
These mini computers look interesting

This game frustrated me. Is there a Dreamcast shooter game that is not so frustrating?
Giga wing 2 is way easier and also fantastic, it has unlimited continues and lots of unlockables tied to playing well, so you gradually get better but never get stuck at a wall.
Ikaruga is trash that shmup babbies like to hail as the best ever. You're better off playing something like Giga Wing 2 or Mars Matrix. My personal favorite though is Border Down, top tier hori.
Good news, our resident autists consider that an easy casual game.
Is this series any good? Gets hyped by Saturnfags all the time but they never give reason outside that it was popular in Japan.
>>3004461
iirc it's a dating sim / VN combined with a SRPG, and the setting is in in an all-girl elite military squad who pilot steampunk mechas.
That should neatly sum it up why it is popular in japan.
>>3004461
oh, and as for how popular it is, it was one of the best selling Saturn games, it got ported to PC and Dreamcast, and it got anime and shitload of sequels for a good ten years (I stopped paying attention circa Sakura Taisen 5 on the PS2).
So, one of the more popular Sega franchises that is not Sonic or Hatsune Miku or Yakuza.
>>3004481
But...is it actually any good?
Gameboy/gameboy color thread
I have been playing some gameboy games and have a new found appreciation for its library. I just finished for the frog the bell tolls/kaeru no tame ni kane wa naru and I'm playing megaman v right now, great games.
I've recently rediscovered pic related, and it's a crying shame that it doesn't get more recognition.
Also, could anyone explain to me what the hardware improvements the color had over the brick? It feels faster, but that might just be me.
>>3004402
>could anyone explain to me what the hardware improvements the color had over the brick
Double the CPU speed, more ram.
>>3004420
And a color screen to utilize the extra cpu power.
Favorite classic arcade game?
Ummmmmmm I like PAC-man
When do you consider a looping game "beaten"? I don't mean reaching the kill screen or counter stopping, when have you had enough?
Robotron 2084 and Tempest
I can get either of these tomorrow. Make your arguments for either (note that I am not asking for a decision to be made for me, I ain't do that shit).
Actually want to talk about Link to the Past for a bit. Is it worth getting, as a Zelda fan, in this present-day, when I own the N64 remakes and Link Between Worlds (arguably the best Zeldas all in my hand right there). I've honestly only ever gotten to the first Dark World dungeon as a kid. Would completing it now be a fulfilling experience, you think?
Also general vs. thread. Go.I also swear to Christ this has nothing to do with EgoraptorI only now remember that he did videos on both
>>3004190
i dont know what the fuck you're babbling about but i'd just get both if possible, castlevania is excellent but if you don't have zelda it's a must
>>3004190
I would get castlevania. Try something different.
Well isn't the castlevania cart literally 5 times as much as the Zelda cart?
Choice seems pretty obvious to me.
However, if you don't care about that I highly suggest getting and finishing lttp anyways. Hell, just get both of youre already willing to plop down the dough in castlevania
Adventure Island thread.
>>3004126
RIP
fuck you konami
>>3004126
First one is hard as fuck
II was always my favorite
>>3004138
2nd one was pure casual tier.
The first one had the timer that was unforgivingand the fucking purple eggplant
>game designed for keyboard and mouse
>it's surprisingly more fun on console
That's because you move with the dpad, but I heard something about the item drops in this game was fundamentally broken.
What other unlikely console ports are there? I know Red Alert and Warcraft 2 have PS1 ports but never tried them.
>Diablo on Playstation better than on PC
Now I've literally heard everything
Do you like single player modes in fightan games? I'm absolutely addicted to the survival modes in SFA 3
I love arcades in Street Fighter games, they are fun and addicting and great time killers
I can't wait to pick up SFV and play arcade mode for hours.
Who the fuck plays fighting games for single player content anyway?
Yeah, I always have a good time playing SF2 since the beginning, the game still great and I feel like when I was a kid as it was my first videogame, except now I can play it properly.
>>3003754
>I can't wait to pick up SFV and play arcade mode for hours
A-anon, I...
