Technically. An apocalypse has happened in recorded memory, but civilization has long since rebuilt after it and things are pretty normal. Plus more danger and monsters for adventures to be had.

Yeah, I kind of dig fantasy apocalypses. I've had a setting which was a dozen or so generations after the apocalypse in a flooded world, gods all eaten, ship colonies, a trinity of elements (air, water and earth) giving rise to conflict and strange occurrences. Elves who veiled their faces and built their cities on giant turtles and octopuses.

Then that same setting a few thousands years later with the waters receded, the last few of the gods' animals (big kaiju things) walking the earth, the earth littered with the bones of many more. Huge salt flats, islands slowly increasing in size, actual nations starting to prosper. A magic academy built in a hermit crab the size of a mountain drove a lot of the PCs actions.

Question: What is Civcraft?
Civcraft is a unique minecraft server with several mods in place that practically make it another game all together.
It is a server for political ideologies and nation-building. Due to resource scarcity and changed growth mechanics, living
as a lone wolf is near impossible. Civcraft has really only 2 rules; No doxing, no hacking (includes x-ray). Everything
else from legal matters to a method of banishment called 'prison pearl' is done by the playerbase in game. This has
created huge conflicts standoffs and even world wars in the past, resulting in the loss of ten of thousands of diamonds
and accounts being banished to the end for considerable amounts of time. Unlike most servers, civcraft does not reset
making resource harvesting and reinforced builds a permanent fixture.

Making the trip: There is no /tp function. An hero until you spawn within 3-4k blocks.

Essential serverside mods:

Citadel: This is a mod used to reinforce your e-legos. At the cost of 1 smoothstone,
iron or diamond you can reinforce a block which will not be removed until it breaks 25, 250 and 1800 times
respectively.

Prison pearl: When you kill somebody with an enderpearl in your hotbar they are effectively banished
to the end. You can take this pearl and put it in a chest with coal inside to keep them in the end at the cost
of 8 coal per day. These chests are usually surrounded by diamond reinforced obsidian, referred to as vaults.
A player can be freed of course, but this typically requires negotiating terms of repayment or a vault break. If you
commit crimes on the way to /pol/ynesia (griefing, murder, taking crops without replanting) expect to find yourself
'pearled'.

Realistic Biomes: simply put -certain crops only grows in certain biomes and makes crops grow at augmented
rates.

About Jukealert: reinforced jukeboxes and noteblocks act as both CCTVS and recording devices, logging actions
of players in the area. Referred to as snitches, they prevent people from getting away with grief and theft and
allow you to keep an eye on your property without actually being there.

I'd suggest a minimap mod (Journeymap and Voxelmap being the most frequently used) and Optifine as essential modifications.
I'd suggest using the Forge version of these mods.

As the Vitrians begin to set-up barricades and prepare to use the foundry as a defensive position, you consider your next move closely.

Terce was the biggest threat. Once she was dead her thralls would return to normal within a few days from the sound of it. You had a few ideas on how to kill the vampire, particularly as she wasn’t particularly dangerous by herself.

But once she was dead, what next? Although now some Vitrians knew you were here helping them, it was certain that the military was also trying to help. At best you might be able to sweep in and conquer the city at the same time you fell Terce, but at the risk of having to fight a lot of Vitrian thralls and also hoping that the Vitrian military doesn’t attack you as well.

Alternatively, you could try working with the remaining nobles or else replacing them with more sympathetic ones. If Count Argyle and the young Lord Tabeth lead a counterattack against Volante it could put them out of the picture, enabling you to seize power in the city. Alternatively, you could work with that pair and try to use them to gain leverage and influence over the city – you’d be a war hero if you were responsible for fighting off Volante’s army.

The final possibility, and one you didn’t discuss with your companions in case of the Vitrians overhearing, was to kill Terce and leave Vitria to fight by themselves. You could consider them an ally, but busy yourself with attacking Darlesia or else doing nothing. In the meantime, the Vitrian army will likely be worn down by the Taourans and you could hopefully sweep up the city at the cost of losing a large amount of the Vitrian forces.

Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.

Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.

Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)

During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.

If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).

If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.

If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution

We know perpetuals can have kids as oll did but we don't know if that's only for the early part of their life (unlikely I think as the memory was during Viking raids era) or if it passes on in the blood - unlikely as there would be billions of them breeding on from oll
The woman guarding the gate was one of the emperors gang though and she and oll are more human in their emotions
Maybe we will get some hint later on in the series

The affinity doesn't always have to be elemental, but there should always be a "theme" or a "school" of some kind. Wizards being able to fuck the rules and do whatever they want is like like 80% of the problem with most versions of DnD and it's ripoffs.

Yes for affinity but call it attribute so you can include things that aren't elements and don't trigger someones autism with it. Also allow for 3 of 12 affinities max per mage, that should do quite well for balance purposes and allow for enough problems being solved by a single PC.
Example:
Fire affinity (manipulate heat, fire, generate fire, useful for alchemy, can generate explosions)
Water (manipulate cold, generate water/ice, heal, generate defensive barriers)
And so on.
You can include death/life domain stuff too or even stupid things like darkness.

Don't do DW. Memes aside, it's a bad combination of AD&D aesthetic and tone and Apoclypse World rules. Damn near any other *World game would suit you better.

Savage Worlds, while not a *World game despite the name, is supposedly a good choice for beginners as it's not super crunchy or overly meta or freeform.

GURPS has Dungeon Fantasy and it's a hell of a lot of fun, but even though I'm a huge GURPSfag I cant recommend it without also mentioning it's very GM intensive; I love the system but it requires a lot of reading for the GM (not math though).

I'd say run 5e. It's similar enough to 3.5 so that people who've played it can pick it up easily, and it's easier on the DM and just simpler in general.

It's probably the perfect system for your scenario.
