A great danger looms under our feet, it is waiting, it is sleeping. Ready to wake up at any time now.

Old circuits start, electrons running across their electronic veins. They have awakened now.

Whole city blocks now house the ashes of mankind. Look on, there's not much left to see.

When all the humans start to die... When all that don't shall go insane...
As they look up at blackened sky, THE NECRONS RISE AGAIN!

Depends, some awakened sooner than others. There are even a few Dynasties that haven't been truly awakened. The Silent King is the complete opposite, he never went to sleep and has spent millions of years roaming the void between galaxies.

Gestalting a spellcaster with another spellcaster's usually a really bad idea; for all your spells and magical potential, you still only have one round of actions, and your chassis isn't made any better.
Don't play an active class alongside an active class, however tempting it is. They'll be competing for your actions and your feats, when in Gestalt it's almost always better for one side to be a "feeder" into the actual active class.
>>
>>44282332
What are some good "feeder" classes then.

Aside from Aegis, I think everyone knows Aegis is the best passive class.

What are some classes/archetypes that don't really gel well in gestalt anyway?
>>

Kill him, take his armor/uniform and impersonate him and get your party an audience. Then lay out his murdered body in a carefully staged scene that will implicate an enemy or faction opposing your party. Fucking easy.

Anyone remember heroes of might and magic 3? Great, this game is a bit like that!
How to play:

>Each turn you decide an action for the village first (research, building, whatever). Most votes wins (loosely), roll 1d100 for success.
>Then you decide an action for the away team.
>Whenever something new is built/invented/upgraded/recruited/… YOU post an image of the thing and I shop it onto our village
>images cannot include: magical realm, lame memes, stuff that reminds me of /b/ or /pol/, stuff from established settings.
>any suggestions welcome
It’s been a few weeks since we've settled here.
Only a few elders remember the days before our tribe became nomads. They were very young at that time, and they can’t remember much of the terror that chased them away, but they tell tales of brutes with demonic strength.
The sea is calm here, the mountains guard us from the wind.
This is our village, our home.

>Inhabitants: Humans (few, primitive)
>Buildings: Houses (few, primitive)
>Tech: hunting and gathering

Before anything else, we need a name for this village

ITT we argue about the many fallacies commonly believed about 3.5, the big one being: caster supremacy

How do you figure? Casters got something cool out of pretty much every new book because everyone wanted new spells, whereas the new feats usually sucked ass. Add to that new full-caster PrCs that didn't really require any sacrifice on the part of the wizard, and you can see how each splatbook increases the power of the wizard without doing much or even anything for anyone else. That might not be a core 3.5 issue, but iirc (and it's been awhile for me so I admit I may be wrong here! My apologies in advance) a lot of the splats that really ramped up caster power came out after 3.5 did. The best way to reduce caster power to merely 'unreasonable' levels is to brutally cut down on supplements available to casters, or pre-vet everything casters can use and be liberal with the use of the word 'no'.

But on topic! How about this one? "3.5 was an improvement over 3e!" A bunch of concepts got fucked over, including primarily martial concepts, and the stuff that really made casters over the top got left untouched. Some skills that nobody used went away and nobody really cared because nobody, player or DM, used them. In a lot of ways the ruleset became worse because the wording on the rules was sloppier and more open to abuse.

Even if you're only going with core, the most important thing that will determine how overpowered people think casters are, is how they look at levels.

If they look at the majority of their own play experience, which is usually mainly between levels 1 and 10, wizards or sorcerers start out as glass cannons that can usually take out their fair share of enemies with the Sleep spell, and then by level 10 they're actually strangely tough due to buff spells, and arguably the greatest contributor to combat success in the party - AND by far the greatest contributor to out-of-combat success due to the usefulness of spells - to the point where if the party wants to maximize success at that point, they have to plan around getting the caster his good night's sleep as much as possible (which is arguably an interesting risk-reward puzzle sometimes.)

However, it so happens that there are 10 more levels in the game.

Alright, Captain titus is canon for the following reasons the statements made by the staff member on the THQ website were that of someone who wasn't connected to space marine project and was simply a person doing moderation for their site.

Secondly THQ was working with Games workshop meaning that it is canon but less canon than other things.

as all things are canon just some things are more canon than others.

Have any of you ever used WoD for a game not set in the traditional World of Darkness? Any of the Mirrors stuff or alternate options in the Chronicler's Guides. Or just thought of something new yourself.

Do you think Chronicles (and maybe Dark Eras) will make that easier? I've always wanted to do fantasy, and after watching Star Wars, a gritty space opera where you fight back against the God-Machine's machinations across planets, fighting with laser swords, would be cool.

I once had a game of Requiem in which the vast majority of the game was set in a few years in roughly the present day. Once the main story was concluded, I did an extended epilogue, which took the form of the PCs now being Ancillae in a Bleeding Edge setting.

Relinking this. It's my entries into the 12 Days of Onyx thing. I felt like sharing them here where more people are likely to see it. Plus I can pretty it up.

>>44281533
I just feel like most of the rules would really fit well with something more fantastical, especially the mortal stuff that they can get up to with Spirits and Ghosts. Dread Powers especially add to monster creation capabilities, making things straight out of D&D.

I've mentioned before, but I want to run a heavily modified Woundgate portal fantasy, where the players are modern day folks who get pulled into a fantasy World of Darkness where the realms are all stitched together and there's no masquerade. Although I do ultimately feel that you could run a really good game using WoD without using any of the templates or gamelines besides core (and Hunter).

Welcome rudebois and rudegyals to the latest edition of Star Wars A New Quest,

Last time on STANQ; An unnaturally large amount of Al shenanigans, was literally the whole thread, toning it down today.

You developed the tenets of your religion and trained 6 days into hyperspace, then on sunday day of fun and rest, you won a space twister, which lead to Al trying it, you recanting your nightmare of a time with Ranlis, falling to force rage choking both Al and KJ, crying like a little bitch for several hours, going out in your car across the desert seeking justice, brutally murdering a gamerorrean aswell as the local crime lord and some of his bounty hunters in an edgy rage, met with Al and KJ, kissed the girl for apology, but could smell the strong cinnamon smell of a drug that fucks with your emotions, so you took her back to the ship and berated her, but you were diamonds and she needed release, so you had light lewds due to not wanting to repeat Ranlis or hurting her.

Al shenanigans ended there, at this point we time skipped (but with enough votes i can retcon it back as precognition/a force dream) 3 and a 1/2 years, having taken over Randall the Hutt's empire, turning it much more moral and much more profitable, going full trump transforming your portion of twatooine into swagooine, schools, hospitals, skyscrapers, a fledgling tourist scene, the works, aswell as your Academy of Fun and Good Times. You completed the classes on the last day of the week, met with KJ, won a race against him without even breaking a sweat, talked about your plans for Al's brithday tomorrow, and your plans for two days when You meet Ranlis for the first time in a long time, and that's where we finished due to sleepy times.

Last night, Petra had washed your back, cleaning out countless scratches – the tricky kind, the ones that you couldn't reach without help. This morning, she brought you food while you were sleeping, leaving it without disturbing you. You only wish you could call up those pleasant memories once more without thinking, instead, of the sight of Petra being carried off, plummeting into an uncertain fate within Raphael's grasp.

Neither can you recall her voice – husky, with that curiously exotic accent – without hearing that piercing scream, cut off too quickly to signal any pleasant fate. Even now that the pair of Archangels have taken flight – in the most literal sense – you find it hard, impossible even, to consider this a victory. Too much has been sacrificed for that, and the dismal silence that has descended across the shattered street is testimony to that. Only now, with the kind of weariness that leaves you feeling more dead than alive, can you rise to your feet.

Elliot, a scant few feet away, stares at the ruined building you recently fled, finally unable to come up with an appropriate witticism. If anything, his face is set in a pallid mask of uncertain horror.

Your name is Mia Vespucci, and you know how he feels.

>>44280880

“We should...” Elliot says after a long and bleak pause. Those two words are the only ones he can manage to form, though, and soon he lapses back into silence. His glib tongue has failed him, leaving the eccentric young man at a total lose.

Taking a few unsteady steps forwards, your eye catches a glint upon the ground. Petra's sword, the blade streaked with blood, lies in a pool of half-melted snow. Even that blade, thrust through Raphael's hollow torso, had not been enough to still his wrath. It's only then, as you stoop to retrieve the weapon that you hear it – a soft sound, coming from the basement that you had been prepared to call Petra's tomb. A scraping, a sound of something being dragged – or dragging itself across the ground.

Hope blossoms in your chest, tempered with the horror of what you might find down there, as you hurry into the building, scrabbling down the destroyed staircase. Your eyes take a moment to adjust to the darkness, even with the weak light seeping down from the hole left in the wake of Uriel's hasty retreat. The first thing you see is the Archangel's severed arm, lying discarded in the rubble. Then you see the splattered gore, and the trail leading off into the shadows. Holding yourself perfectly still and silence, you hear ragged breathing coming from that same pool of darkness.

Swallowing down a sudden surge of nerves, you fumble out your phone and, guiding yourself by the light from its screen, step into the darkness. When you spot Petra, slumped heavily against one wall, your hand darts to your mouth, covering up a desperate gasp. It's bad – very bad. One of her hands is clamped to the side of her face, hiding some gruesome wound from your sight. The other hand lies, shattered and limp, by her side.

She needs help. Badly.

It would never happen, so it can't be considered in the current 40k setting. Humanity is too far into Xenophobia to even contemplate that. Space marines however we know have been known to mix in with them on occasions.

If the majority of Chapters teamed with the Eldar/Tau, they would be considered renegade with how heavy handed the Imperium is.
