Post cool pics of miniatures, conversions and paint jobs here. Needing some motivation for painting.

I groan, pressing my hand against the frost covered window, watching the snow fall over the already covered school, the buildings looking more like a bunch of vaguely shaped piles of the white stuff and the field looking like a rolling hill of freshly made frosting, with the lake steaming in the middle of it....man I was I could swim out there, it looks so warm and nice.
"So why don't you?" Baba asks, peeking over my shoulder, making me jolt in surprise, and glare at her, before I smirk "Oh don't worry about that, always loved a bit of gossip"
"Because I'd freeze up" I whimper, pulling on the under side of my left arm, a strand of slime stretching with my thumb and finger, before I let go and it slowly drips to floor "And I don't really want to spend all day as a statue, because even if I'm a piece of art, that doesn't sound fun"
"Wait are you talking about the lake again?" Kandence asks, sniffling as she rises up from her bed like a great serpent from the sea...man never knew I could be jealous of giant snakes before "Didn't you get in trouble for swimming in there last time"
"MAaaaaaybe" I say, pressing my index finger just under my lip as I sway back and forth, twisting around my own my a bit
"....Care to explain what you're talking about there, Serpent ?" Baba asks staring at Kandence, sounding pretty curious and almost like a kindly grandmother
"Lucy and Miranda decided to go swimming, and merged together" Kandence says "And then walked around the school, bigger than most of it, which was kind of...scary, but they didn't do any harm...I'm pretty sure, at least, I mean they did leave a whole lot of slime everywhere"
"Why would we?" I ask titling my head "And they made us clean that up, do you now how annoying it was to do that when you're made of the stuff"
"You know, that's actually kind of amusing...you should do it again" Baba says

"Stop trying to make Lucy get hersssself into trouble, Baba" Kandence says, her forked tongue flicking out from her pouting lips, as she lays over the end of her bed "She's gets into enough trouble with just herself"
"Aw thank you" I say happily before, the warm glow of happiness turns to a burning anger, feeling teeth grown in my mouth and extra eyes pop up over my real ones "OH DO I? WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YOU LITTLE...oh did I start yelling again, ehehehe"
Kandence, and Baba nod from under her blanket, both shaking. Kandence's yellowish snake eyes turn to Baba, and a second later, the witch is on the floor, Kandence's tail taking up the space she was using a second ago.
"Oh someone's shy" the witch chuckles as she sits back up
"When are you going to leave anyways?" Kandence asks, glaring at the witch from the safety of her bed
"As soon as I find someone I can stomach being around" Baba says, turning and looking at me in the eye as she smiles at me and licks her teeth
I shake my head, looking away from her before I get the urge to smack her or maybe just glare really angrily at until she blubbers and cries.

Hey /tg/, being the roleplaying hipster that I am, I enjoy scouring the lore of various games for the most unused and forgotten about pieces.
So, have any of you ever included the far realm in any of your campaigns? It could be fun working with the strange physics and effects, as long as you make it your own and not just D&D lovecraft. Given the small amount of info, it seems like it's made for creative homebrewing, has anyone done that?
>>44394739
Every DM who has read about the Far Realm, especially if they did it in their teen years, has come up with their own little homebrew on how it works.
As it turns out, unless you're playing Spelljammer or Planescape, a good DM makes the most out of a single plane rather than needing 12 others to make it work.
did an entire campaign using only lore from the DnD books about the dynamics of the 3 non-physical planes, and the source of psionic power and shit
the books actually contain a lot of really cool shit to build on, man

That pic, not sure if worksafe.
Looks like clits with faces tonguefucking vagina ears.
Alright, /tg/. I'm probably going to be DMing for a group of people by the end of this week. My plan is to read over the Player's Handbook I & II, the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual, all for version 3.5. Will I miss anything major by stopping there? Should I read those for a later version, or would you all recommend 3.5? Lastly, any tips for a new DM in making a memorable and lasting campaign?
Give me one good reason why you're too retarded to just google this and instead have to shit up the board with this thread.
>>44394545
Nah, good starting point. There's a few level zero adventures, you should consider starting with one of those
>>44394583
You should sit down friend. We're better than google
How does /tg/ feel about the new meta?
>>44394522
... Beautiful.
>>44394522
...Lovely.
People are going to die
>get on /tg/
>no K6BD thread
For shame.
Who's your favorite character so far?
>>44394516
Nigger are you fucking serious? This has to be one of the most blatantly unrelated threads I've seen on the board.
Are you literally that guy who spent the entire last thread bitching about how the RPG wasn't related, and have made this terrible thread to continue with it?
>>44394549
Don't h8, troll
>>44394516
this is a cool webcomic, but why not start this thread on /co/, instead
A magical Genie arrives and grants you a single boon. Laid before your eyes is the greatest roleplaying setup of all time- a GM screen that works perfectly, props and costumes for all the players, tankards that fill with any beverage desired by the drinker and seemingly endless bowls of snacks.
The Genie turns to you and says "There are four seats here, so you may invite three players to sit with you. The DM shall be Matt Mercer but your three players may be selected from anywhere in space and time! They will not answer your questions about their own lives or times, but will be fully immersed in the game- a perfect version of whichever system you wish to play.
"Who will you choose? And please, indulge me with your reasoning."
>>44393261
>inb4 x so I can fuck them
>inb4 x so I can kill them
I don't choose anyone, I nab the GM screen, the tankard, and the bowl, and run for the hills.
>>44393512
They vanish from existence because you didn't do what the Genie asked.
What kind of dunk shenanigans have your characters gotten into? Did you wake up in the village fountain in you skivvies? Did you bang the dancer that had no business being a dancer?
>fucking an ugly chick while drunk is shenanigans
You want stronger drugs for wilder scenarios.
>dunk shenanigans

While we weren't brave enough to go back to double-check, I am pretty sure we got drunk, caused an incident between 2 nations, and since they never caught us to verify who we were with, both just assumed we were with the other guy and this may have caused a minor war.
Also, that was one of the funniest parts of the game, more so because Jennifer just walked in, looked at 3 drunks wearing her cloths and messing with her equipment, and told them to go to bed as if this was a regular thing for them.
/tg/, I want to become a better GM. And by that I mean: I want to become a better writer.
Why? Well, I do consider myself a good GM. I can create a good mood, I can play memorable and diverse NPCs, even when I completely ad lib the whole thing. Really, when it comes to GMing, I'd say I'm pretty good. Not fantastic, but good. My players are happy, they fondly remember past adventures, they even recall minor NPCs because they just stuck in their minds as characters.
But I'm a horribly mediocre writer. I always have this grand vision of writing a story that gets my players thinking, a story that gets them emotionally invested, makes them question themselves. A story with genuine feeling in it. But I always fall short.
It's not that I lack creativity, it's just that I can't really nail down what makes a good story good. Basically, I've hit a wall when it comes to my writing ability concerning plots. I can do maybe one or two genres well, but I want to branch out and do more. I want to do my ideas justice by conveying them well.
What do, /tg/? Is there maybe some magical guide to writing a good, engaging story out there? I mean, I know what a story needs, I just kinda... fail at putting it into action.
Google "creative writing tips"
Your stories probably fall short because you're so invested in YOUR story that the players come second.

Working on some writefaggotry about a bunch of abhumans. Got some squats, ratlings, ogryns, psykers, and navigators. No felinids, I'm not really sure how to write them.
I like featuring abhumans and mutants when I can, and coming up with new ones if possible. If anyone has any originals of their own, I'd like to hear about them.
honestly, they piss me off. They attract the wrong kind of people to 40k rpgs
/tg/, my luck is horrific on Roll20, and nothing seems to be able to fix it. How can I appease the dice gods and roll above a 10 one more?
>>44392298
Stop touching yourself at night.
>>44392684
But anon...I touch myself during the day
Go to the FLGS and say you're looking for dice that aren't imbalanced and see if they'd let you test some D20's on a nearby table. Buy the one that rolls the most 10+.

Back when the world was still young,
when the land was barren and the seas were empty,
before the mortal races saw the light of day,
there were the gods of creation.
They were created the one, who conceived this world and tasked them to shape it.
You are one of those gods, at the dawn of time.
Dude, ain’t that metaphysical?

Last time our heroic vigilantes of justice oversaw the unfortunate (accidental) destruction of Mr. Wu's Chopstick and Noodle Emperioum
( ttp://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/44269489/ )
But amidst the sushi, lobsters, bullets and bombs that make up postmodern asian fusion culinary creativity they also discovered a nefarious plot somewhere in the sordid depths of New Metroville's copious underground (Awarded best, most spacious city sewer system twenty years running!) And so hot on the heels of the fleeing ICE commando squad, our heroes descend into the chtonic depths!
Let's see what happens in [Skirmish] Sketch Superheroes Issue III: Ground Control to...
>>44391210
The following security footage was also made available to the Press to disperse allegations that the responding vigilantes (unlicensed as they are) used excessive force in apprehending the ICE kill team.
Mr. Wu will no doubt find it useful when he makes his insurance claim.
>>44391235
But enough about the details and bean counting and stacks of insurance claims involved in the business of DISPENSING JUSTICE and ENSURING FREEDOM FOR ALL.
Maybe you have what it takes to be a hero? I swear, they'll let most anyone put on a custome these days!
The rules are to your left, and you're always welcome. That also mean you, reading this, anon. Just filll out this form! And this one! And this one! And this liability waiver! And this merchandising deal!

Maybe you're one of these new-fangled kids what with their broodin' and their tootin' and their poetry and their miserable piles of secrets and their hanging about on rooftops backlit by flashes of lightning striking from the rolling, roiling clouds?
Or maybe you're a sheriff robot on the lam like AS-1! Who knows?
