Meanwhile, on Krogan /tg/...
Why are we playing this Salarian kid's game, Krei?
>>44399089
My DM tried inserting his magical realm again. So I headbutted him. Hasn't talked about Quarians since. Did I do good?
>>44399139
no, you didn't. Since the genophage magical realm is all we have
I asked this a while ago and it turned into a pretty good thread, so I'll ask it again and see if that's the same.
How does one defend against a threat that can groundhog day a scenario over and over again?
>>44398770
Does anyone else (ie the players) retain memory of the previous iterations? Who or what exactly is the "threat"?
>>44398770
That movie where Tom Cruise dies 47 times
>>44398804
in this case, it's probably darksouls man. Though that's really a standin for whatever else.
And whether or not people remember it was a good factor to consider, and can be one of the conditions needed to fight such a threat. Or having someone able to at least inform the party time travel shit is afoot.
Do you wear wargaming apparel, /tg/?
>>44398451
Of course
I got it for free as a promotional thing so yeah sure.
>>44398451
wargaming? no. friends has some tattoos though (all them warhammers).
i'm ok with this shirt though. all that nostalgia, squee!
>The wizard has created a 4chan elemental.
What would such a creature be like?
>>44397966
It hates everything, even itself. It cannot be reasoned or bargained with.
This is way too easy
Shit Elemental
It would constantly call everyone a fag or autistic, while spewing hate speech about everything. It wears a fedora and shoots blasts of porn gifs.
Anyone run a game in the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer setting? I was thinking about using the Dresden Files RPG for it.
>>44397471
WoD or bust.Maid RPG is fine too.
>>44397506
I just figured that the, vanilla mortal, wizard, Knight mantle, unblooded vampire, and Sword of the Cross classes worked really well.
Xander= mortal
Buffy= Knight of the wyldfae Court
Willow= wizard
Angel= (mechanically) unblooded vampire
>>44397471
There is a Buffy and Angel RPG. Angel has more solid rules. They emulate the show well
Age: 735
Location: Unknown planet
Information: Receiving reports of invaders travelling in a ship like Frieza's, Daikon and his allies began to travel toward one of their worlds that had fallen under attack. On the way, Daikon accidentally damaged the ship while training, causing it to crash. Now, stranded on an unknown world, Daikon and the other Saiyans fell under attack from a creature known as Lusk, who was commanded by another creature known as Zakam. With both threats ended, Daikon recruited Zakam's daughter to work for him, and returned to his ship to find Kuriza, son of Frieza, having landed. After a brief fight, Daikon defeated Kuriza, only for five more large powers to arrive on planet
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.
Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.
Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)
During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.
If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).
If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.
If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution
You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You've become one of the most powerful Saiyans in the universe, but there's still potential for you to grow stronger.

Power Levels (as of the start of this thread)
http://pastebin.com/HDXfeTkM
You remain where you are, and take a moment to sense the power levels that are approaching. Each of them are large, but four of them are massive, and one of those four is so unbelievably huge that you wonder if it's Frieza himself.
"Those powers, I can only read one of them," Soko tells you, frowning at his scouter. "It's at 12,000, the rest are way too high for the scouter to tell me."

Why does your setting not include Mellifleur, the lich-god from the 1992 book for 2e "Monster Mythology," whose accidental apotheosis and unusual circumstances make Neutral GOOD deities help him battle evil?
>Of all these beings, the most extraordinary tale is that of Mellifleur, the Lich-Lord. Mellfleur was an ancient wizard who had faithfully prepared his magical road to undeath, and dutifully enacted the magical rituals with great care.
>What he did not know was that a major god of evil—who varies from pantheon to pantheon in different versions of this myth—was just about to raise a mortal priest to become a demigod through divine ascension. A great backwash of god-magic resonated with Mellifleur's rituals, and the wizard became a demigod instead. Thus the Lich-Lord came into being by mistake, a glorious irony.
>Illithid sages have an extraordinary variant of this tale, claiming that the event involved a collective impulse among the gods themselves, so that several evil gods in different worlds were all carrying out the same operation at the same time, and their combined magical effects, summed and transformed, raised Mellifleur not just to deity status but to the status of a lesser god. This would certainly explain why in the GREYHAWK® campaign, Nerull is said to be the deity who created Mellifleur; in Toil, they say BANE?, and in other worlds, other dark names are invoked.
>One thing is for certain: to survive, Mellifleur has to have his avatars oppose the actions of the dark deity who created him, lest his own be diminished and the evil god recapture and absorb Mellifleur's power. The Lich-Lord must oppose certain evils to survive.
>On occasion, it is said, some deities of neutral good in particular actually aid him, to avoid the greater evil of the greater god triumphing. Evil fights evil, aided by good to maintain division.

Why don't you [incredibly specific thing]?
>>44396035
His name sounds like a gay French pastry.

>Why does your setting not include Mellifleur, the lich-god from the 1992 book for 2e "Monster Mythology,"
Because i'm not playing D&D.
as a player or as a GM, in any game, whats some of the dumbest shit you have every seen people do? i will tell you some of the stuff i have seen and i'm curious if there is anyone here who has seen worse.
>myself and my friend agree to a friendly duel. first blood wins.
>we both make attack rolls, i roll a Nat.20
>Dm tells me to roll for damage
>i don't want to do damage i want to tap him with the blade
>Dm forces me to roll damage
>badly injure my friend
> i attempt to apply pressure to wound to stop the bleeding
>dm "roll a dex check"
>what???
>dm "roll a dex check to see if you stop the bleeding
same DM, same session
>attempting to distract a a shop owner so i can steal an item the party is after
>being a drow rogue i have 3 spell like abilities
>before entering the shop i told the Dm i wanted to place a stick on the frame of the shop window so i could cast faerie fire on it to make him confused
>dm "roll a dex check"
>again? with the dex checks? why?
>to see if you put the stick in the window.
>how does that makes sense?
>Dm "its hard to balance sticks"
next session
>following an important NPC because the party was too stupid to ask him the right questions for a quest we are doing
>Dm rolls a perception check
>npc finds me
>Dm setting a fucking Dc for my stealth
>mfw no dex check
In fairness OP it is hard to balance sticks.
>>44395891
You just prop it in the corner and make a triangle, it's not that hard.
>>44395422
Friendly duels can result in serious injuries.

Cool Titles Edition!
What's a good title for a level 20 fighter who uses a lot of supernatural abilities/hates the arcane. Basically uses it to hunt it kind of guy. I've taken optimization to a silly end point. Trained in alchemy/has a mutagen, but not well enough to be a full alchemist. Has a lot of pent up anger (has a rage). Basically he is quite a fury. He also has a familiar and can use some spells with the item mastery feats, and has all the bloodline feats for Eldritch heritage (orc).
Any ideas? It's in golarion and need to have something to do with his back story (hammering out the specifics after doing the build).
What kinds of tieflings or aasimar would you like to see?
>>44395194
Shrek.
Alternatively, the "Smash Mouth" or "Rocking Star."
Why are a lot of traditional gamers autistic? By autism, I don't mean people I don't like but actual, medical autism.
>>44391211
Could you quantify "a lot"?
>>44391231
Anyone who does anything he dislikes or disagrees with.
>>44391211
Presumably because it's a hobby in which you're not expected to interact with large groups of people too often, and it's generally accepted to be somewhat eccentric/atypical/abnormal. If you have trouble with social interaction, then a hobby where people don't expect amazing levels of social interaction is a good place to be.
>art
AS far as nerdy art goes, you could do a lot worse. At least those are subtle, nice and work well together.
>>44384435

>blocking a fireplace
>because a wine glass full of dice, some Spongebob tchotchkes, and a plushie Mario "?" block are in the way
What awful taste.

What threads does /tg/ need more of? Less of?
If you could ban one thing on the board what would it be?
>vocaroo threads good but they appear rarely
>music threads too but tg needs to expand past zelda music, journey and bastion/transistor
>If you could ban one thing on the board what would it be?
Metathreads
less threads that go more than 3 parts.
If it was good and constructive, something would've come out by the 2nd thread and 3rd should be wrapping it up with the OP getting shit done.
I like non-general game discussions.
>>44382581
>hates discussing the community he's a part of
why
What would a rabid robots' rights activist would insist robots have to be called, assuming that he finds "robot", "artificial intelligence", and "synthetic" all somehow offensive/disrespectful? I'm not looking for something too blatently /pol/ish or goofy, it's an otherwise serious game. The activist is just a quirky side-character, and excessive political correctness on the subject of robots (who, for the most part, don't mind being called that at all) is just a part of the joke.
So what "proper" word would he push for? I'm looking for something that would sound annoying but funny when preached in a nasally voice. "It's DESIGNED intelligence, not ARTIFICIAL intelligence, thank you very much!". Stuff like that.
>>44378526
Noncellular lifeforms
With an accompanying long-winded lecture about how the words like "mechanical" or "inorganic" don't describe the subject properly.
"Non-Human Intelligence" possibly. If you want to push it you can reverse the order to "Intelligences that aren't Human" or some other clunky turn of phrase. I remember once being in a lecture about the politically correct way to refer to disabled people, and one point raised by the lecturer was that for maximum correctness you must say "people who have [condition here]", rather than "deaf/blind/[condition here] people". This is to emphasise that the individual is a person first, and not to define them by their disability. This of course makes the phrase itself incredibly cumbersome and will ironically draw attention to how much you're fixating on their status.
>>44378618
Heh, not an issue in my native language. We put the noun before the adjective anyway. Of course, we mostly refer to them by an individual noun which simply means "disabled person".
Happy Holidays Edition.

I've got a question I didn't want to fold into the OP. One of the Big 10 is getting taken off the Corporate Court soon, right? Any guesses on which one? I've heard NeoNET is gonna be the one taking a hit, but I'm tempted to use a different one for the purposes of a campaign.
Stick-n-Shock or Gel rounds? Which do you generally prefer?
