What does it feel like when someone casts raise dead on you?
>>44375822
Like dying, but you get better instead of worse at the end.
>>44375822
Holy god aided raise dead or necromancy raise dead?
cleric spell: Feels like sitting next to a warm fireplace sipping a cup of hot cacoa in a warm blanket as you get an corporeal body.
Necromancy: Wherever you are, in hell as a worm or your gods heaven, it feels like your body is being raped.
>>44375822
Well, like they said, it depends entirely on the spell used.
Going with general Raise Dead and sort of average for these sorts of spells...
Have you ever just gotten to sleep after a long day and after maybe an hour of sleep, someone wakes you up and you have to get up an out of bed?
That horrible groggy feeling? Multiply that by about a hundred.
So the I got an itch to run another one of these games.
Rules as usual: first option to get three vote is a-go. if 30-45 mins have passed and there's no consensus, the option with the most votes is picked.
Sometimes, aside from the "normal" options, I'll call for a vote for cultural stuff and things like that, completely separate from the primary vote.
Anyway, let's get started!

Tell me /tg/, how to I go from casual Kitchen Magic with a bunch of old cards to playing in one of these formats I've heard you talk about?
I know the basic rules of the game, but I don't know that many terms for common card effects, if that helps at all.
1) decide what format(s) you want to play
2) find what decks are applicable for said formats
3) play them until you get good
>>44374080
But what formats are there, and how are they different?

Not "Cryxmas" for shame OP
How does torturing people save the DEldar from Slaanesh, exactly? I don't see why Slaanesh would care if they make other people suffer or why doing so would have any effect on their soul. Is there any kind of reasoning to this or is it just to give them an excuse for being so edgy?
>>44373396
Simple. Dark Eldar feed off intense emotions like psychic vampires. Since they're snobby and vicious, they only care about inflicting intense pain. Slaanesh drains them, and they drain mon'keigh etc. and each other faster.
>>44373396
Head cannon for this behavior is that because they were cloistered away for the psychic scream slannesh gave off, they are basically doomed to commit the same hedonistic acts that gave him power. This makes them both subservient to his values, but at the same time they hate his guts because if they don't, there are real repercussions.
I like to envision pain as the ultimate climax of these actions. After some literal experimenting the DEldar found pain, both personal and vicariously experienced, was the top of the rung to restore the soul juice, so to speak.
This also explains why Haemonculi are so favored amongst the powerful of commoragh, because they are basically a living barber shop of pain.
>>44373396
Slaanesh slowly sucks out their souls and they top their souls up by absorbing intense emotions from other beings. It turns out pain and suffering is the fastet and most efficent way to do this because 40k.
What would you like to see happen in 40k fluff wise? No retcons, just future development.

I really like the look of speckled Chessex dice. Unfortunately, recent revelations point to the fact that their balance may be questionable, which leaves me contemplating what to do next. Game Science is expensive, has a limited selection at this point, and their dice tend to look and feel cheap. I've heard that translucent dice are a safer bet, as imperfections would tend to be obvious, so I may just go with Chessex translucents. Anyway, pic is most of my dice, though there are actually a decent number missing (pic is out of date and didn't include some odds and ends even at the time).

You are Brianna la Croix, unexpected adopted parent of a dead girl, and you're about to have the most serious talk of her life or death with her.
But no fucking pressure, right?
>>44367911
"Cherry, helping you means you've got to use ghost powers. And that means talking about you being dead. Are you sure you're ready for that?"
The little gap-toothed ghost flits in a misty jolt to a chair; she rests her chin in her hand, dejectedly. "I don't wanna be dead."
You sit down and set your book on the table. "Sweetie, nobody wants to be dead. But you are dead and no one can bring you back. Honestly...honestly, Cherry, you don't even really want to persist as a ghost."
"It's not /fair/!" the little girl yells.

A Visit From Logan Grimnar
'Twas the night before Solstice, when all 'cross the front
Not a soldier was stirring, not even a grunt;
Spent store-crates were stacked 'neath the light of the moon
With the hope that The Emp'ror would send supplies soon
The troopers were hunkered down, snug in their bunks
All dreaming of orks blown to meaty, wet chunks
And the captain and I had just knelt for a prayer
In the hopes the next battle might some of us spare
When out past our trench there arose such a sound
I grabbed for my gun and jumped up with a bound
Away to the peep-hole I rushed with a jolt
jumped up on the fire-step and chambered a bolt.
The fires on the wreckage strewn 'cross no-man's land
Lit up the night sky for as far as it spanned.
When what do my wondering eyes fast resolve
But an ancient grav-sled, drawn by great Thunderwolves.
With a hulking old driver, white haired with a scar,
I knew in a flash: it was Logan Grimnar!
More rapid than las-bolts his war-beasts they came,
And he roared and he cursed and he called them by name:
"Now Tyrnak, now Fenrir, now Mjollnir and Jotun"
"On Gungnir, on Frostfang, on Uller and Wotun".
"Bring death to the xenos! Bring blood to this night!"
"Now charge, now ride on - we will put them to flight!"
Like an avalanche set by a century's snow-fall,
They crashed into the ork camp and broke through them all.
Firing wrist-mounted bolters as onwards he flew,
scatt'ring orks like shell casings - so many they slew!
Like lightning they struck, the whole camp was aflame,
Breaking through they rushed on, 'til to our lines they came.
I lost sight for a sec, then as I looked around
Right into our trench leapt Grimnar with a bound.
He was dress'd all in fur, from his head to his toes
And his wolf-pelts were red from the blood of his foes.
The trenchboards shook as he stalked down the track
And he looked like a wolf on the hunt with his pack.
His eyes - deep inside, there a twinkle I saw
T'was a bloodlust so fierce that I fell back in awe
The Old Wolf's grizzled mouth flickered as he drew near
The trace of a smile - I had no need to fear
Though he loomed like a nightmare from old soldiers myths
It was not death like that which he brought out forthwith
From beneath his great cloak he withdrew a large sack.
Which he opened at once - I was taken aback
There were bolters and lasguns and meltas and more
I had never seen such a collection before
From the seemingly bottomless sack he pulled out
Enough weapons to put a whole army to route
He spoke not a word but went straight to his work
Fill'd all the supply crates, then turn'd with a jerk
And laying a finger aside his great nose
He gave me a nod and then from the trench rose
Then he sprung to his sleigh, to his team gave a howl
And away they all flew; hunters back on the prowl
And that was the last seen by this commissar
Of the wonderous force known as Logan Grimnar
But I did hear him roar, ere he drove out of sight —
HAPPY SOLSTICE TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD FIGHT!

Yeah considering you have a chance to get wastelands out of any Gatewatch pack. Sounds like a MTGO only thing.
Which is good for those people I guess.

End Times and Age of Shitmar need not apply. If that's your cup of tea, there's an ongoing thread for beaten housewives with stockholm syndrome elsewhere on the board, no need to shit up this one thread, please.
And here's an empty, fillable .pdf character sheet.
I wanted to include it in the OP but I couldn't find anywhere to upload it for sharing and apparently you can't link to anonfiles without it getting caught in the spam filter.
>what wind of magic is your favourite?
I've always been partial to Ulgu (Shadow Wizards) or Chamon (Metal, Gold Wizards). For some reason I just like the idea of pulling off fun shit and being a somewhat atypical "wizard".
The rogue-ish illusionist caster type is an archetype I just like a lot, and if not that, then alchemists and transmuters, turning one thing into another.
I dont trust /v/, so which is the best shadowrun game?
