So, lets have a thread about /tg/ things that you think only you do.
For me, I play with my warhammeras a 29yr oldlike a little kid would; making stories, setting them up, picking them up and simulating fights. Complete with the voice overs of "oh no!" "grrrr I'll get you." It really only occurred to me recently how weird this was.Still not gonna stop

Is anyone still listening to this? Has it gotten any better? I stopped around the time it became Trelle's Drama Corner (Look at me I'm a lesbian! I antagonize others for having familiars! I beat up party members to save monsters!) edition.
I've been trying to find decent roleplaying podcasts after that, but haven't really found anything too good. Is there anything decent around at the moment?

Nah, it's still shit. Don't bother.

>I've been trying to find decent roleplaying podcasts after that, but haven't really found anything too good. Is there anything decent around at the moment?
Role playing public radio is good. Unless they're playing Fantasy (which also overlaps badly with being run by new as fuck GM), that tends to be shitty.

Sounds like a bad Cartoon Network show.

A wizard's most important contributions should be knowledge, not his arcane fuckery.
Discuss
But my knowledge IS arcane fuckery!
Knowledge is the most important contribution the wizard makes to himself.
For everyone else, there is arcane fuckery because they are uneducated peasants who couldn't appreciate a well crafted formula if it made their bed for them in the morning.
The simpletons.
If you want someone to contribute with their knowledge, get an alchemist, or a seasoned hunter with knowledge of many beasts of all kinds, or a dwarven engineer, or a multilingual diplomat bard.
The wizard is there specifically for his arcane fuckery. He contributes with knowledge only at times when magical items or obstacles are encountered, which could range from once in a while to very often depending on how much magic the setting involves.
/tg/, a mighty urge has been burning in me for some time. I want to be a staunch-ass paladin and smite the fuck out of some evil, but I don't know of any good games that will let me do it. What would you recommend? I tried Diablo 2 because it was the only thing I could think of, but I couldn't get into it.
Have you tried playing D&D?

I am planning out a CoC campaign combining several campaign books and it strikes me that investigators are very unlikely to succeed even one of them, much less 3. So my idea is to have 3 campaigns, 1890s, 1920s and 1990s all linked by viahistory and their backer.
The only thing that i can think of capable of being a backer and survive is a Serpent Man wizard. It would be knowledgeable enough to guide them, can operate in human society, knows enough to be a threat to major mythos entities and actually shares humans desire to save earth.
It also has the means to raise the money to fight something like NWI via corporate warfare, the knowledge to tell Einstein how to split the atom and replace politicians. I've got a pretty good idea of how i will handle it especially how to prevent it becoming a deus ex machina but how to deal with the investigators knowing what it is? If (most) of them knew the Serpent man was fighting for 'Earth' do you think they could tolerate working for it?
"Hey it's the boss, i don't know if you new guys read your dad's diary from the good old days but this is Franz Ferdinand, Nikola Tesla and your next President"
"But Professor, that is....
>Donald Trump shapeshifts into a 500 lb Lizard monster
"Letsssss makkke Americca Great Agaiiinn...."
When you get down to it, Serpent men are Earthlings. This is their planet as well. Yes they have contempt for us but we are their best option for mounting some sort of defense under their guidance.
Just not sure how to convince players that generations of their families are going to fight and die in the name of Thula Doom and it is a good thing. I'll be changing his name of course.

If you haven't already, check out The Cruel Empire of Tsan Chan, it's the only sourcebook I've seen that plausibly has mythos races working alongside humanityhttp://www.mediafire.com/view/bk27ecncatqtvcc/Call_of_Cthulhu_-_The_Cruel_Empire_of_Tsan-Chan.pdf

Thanks, let me check it out.
My original question still stands, how to get investigators to cooperate with something like a Serpent Man without them attacking him on sight and him him vaporizing them .
I just skimmed your download, if i don't use it as my official future history it will be a possible future the Serpent Man sees. Brings up the question: Do Serpent Men visit the Dreamlands of Earth?

You're in a station, tasked to evacuate hostages from a local terrorist group. They are in a defensible position, so no sniping. Said hostages are ambassadors of another country. Someone "might" want you to fail the mission.
You're a crew of a new bipedal "tank", or mecha for the layman. You're stationed in the jungles of Vietnam, fighting motherfucking skeletons that went back to life due to their intense spectral motoboner for Ho Chi Minh. In Happy Valley, you get trapped in an ambush by multitudes of skeletons bigger than God's enema. Stay alive.

How do you make plant based races interesting and not just green humanoids /tg/?
I would suggest not just making them green humanoids. Possibly adding some traits that are more interesting.

There's a few ten billion sophonts surfing this forum at any given time. Be more specific, please.
Your name is Thomas Cairn, and you were finally starting to get your life figured out. That is, until you managed to blow it all up. You're dad left you a legacy as the Red Rider, and you carry it as the Red Knight, a hero for a modern age. You had your own company, a suit of power armor, an AI assistant, even a girlfriend. You had a great life. Then an unlucky invention put an end to that. It was just supposed to even out some pressure systems, you didn't know it would end up blowing up like Independence Day.
In a flash of blue light, your life was stripped from you, leaving you in a plain room with an intercom blaring. The headaches don't help, and you're pretty sure you're off your meds, meaning this could all be in your head. Were you thrown out of time into another era? Is this some messed up dreamscape deal? Did aliens save you?

The white light burns your eyes as you lean up from what appears to be a hospital bed, though there is an odd quality to the sheets that you can't pinpoint. You stand up and are immediately hit by a splitting migraine as a voice assaults you.
"Mr. Cairn, please take it slow. You have been in a medically-induced coma for approximately 30 months as your body healed." What the fuck happenned!? Who are these guys? Are they lying? Why aren't you dead? There was a flash and you just...
"Why did you put me in a coma!?" You blurted out something again, but you just can't stand it. Something is very wrong. This is setting off alarms in your head, like a smoke detector attached to a room of speakers. The voice over the speaker coughs a bit while hesitating.
"Following a rather large... accident, you were found unconcious and near death at ground zero. There was evidence of other survivors, but we weren't able to extract them. There will be time to discuss this later, now you need rest."
There is way too much happening, you were at Grandpa's, you tried to stop a Supervillain with a device an- What about Jeana!? You were supposedly out for almost two and a half years! She must think you died! Oh fuck, is Grandpa still alive!? Mom must be devestated! Is the comppany okay!? Did RON keep it running, did Fibin!?

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and things are going to work a bit differently tonight.
Now that introductions are out of the way, welcome to Shinigami Savant Quest's 2015 Omake Collection! Tonight I will present to you a series of short stories similar to the one last thread, whose canonicity and/or relevance to the quest are too questionable to include in a regular thread but which may prove interesting enough as part of a thread dedicated to such things. These may be fairly short write-ups on my end, or they might be fairly involved, requiring multiple decisions and rolls. So take everything you read here with a grain of salt, and sit back, relax, and enjoy!
I'll give you ten minutes to vote for where you want to start tonight, and I'll keep running until I either collapse, run out of players, or run out of ideas. The options I'm prepared to do are:
>Iron Chef Seireitei – Summer, 2000
Riku tries to host an “Iron Chef” style event to amuse the Seireitei's gourmets and epicureans.
>Spring Break – Spring, 1999
A snapshot of the life of Starrk, Halibel, and company on a day when nothing important is happening.
>Mirror, Mirror – Summer, 2001 (non-canon)
What may have happened had you rolled a 5 in the first thread and turned Riku into a villain.
>By Any Other Name (EXTREMELY non-canon)
SSQ meets canon, disaster ensues.
If a really popular write-in options comes up and gains traction, as always I'll consider writing it as well, but don't expect too much on that front as I'm pretty much winging it tonight.
Without further ado, let the voting begin!

So I'm starting a mega project soon, going to be getting one of the three Imperial Titans for painting , all three are very impressive.
But I also am a Horus Heresy Mini game player and was considering playability.
So /tg/, assuming that all three are fantastic models and will have love and care brought to their painting, which one would you own if you wanted to game with it.
My current ideas,
Warhound, cheapest pointswise and playable in smaller/even normal games at its cost. But its the smallest and has the least impact in Apocalypse games which are played every now and then. Estimated that I could play it once every 1-2 months
Reaver titan: The middle ground, its probably the most points efficient in game, is most balanced and is just a good piece of Apoc and really large games of HH, but is significantly lesser to the Warlord both and size and impact.
Estimated that I could play it once every 2-3 months.
Warlord: Here we decide to ignore any possibilty of usage in normal HH and even smaller Apoc games, its a God of War and the strongest model in the game currently, but will be played only 2-3 times a year at most and will be a display model for the most part.
What would you go for and why, for this assume the price wasn't the big factor but looks, playability, and awesome are more important.
Besides that Titan General
What do YOU want the titan for?
>>44399484
There is no real 'best' if you ask me.
All the different types of Titans have their own purpose in a Walk (Titan War)
If you want to form a option of the matter, I'd recommend reading Titanicus. Its ALL about Titans fighting.
And the politics between the Imperium and Mars.
>>44399484
Reaver cause it carries Warlord tier weapons at half the points.
Hello /twiggeee/ i'm working on a setting right now and you see i've got a question
Would it be possible for feudalism to exist in an early-mid 19th century society?
How would it be possible? I've been trying to wrap my head around it for a while now with no result.
How would you do it, /tg/? Particularly the military aspect of it. Would levying be in order? It'd be like conscription, right? How about standing armies?
>>44399184
it's not really my area of expertise, but for feudalism to persist into the 19th century, you'd need to pinpoint the cause(s) of its attenuation and then invent reasons for said cause(s) to be mitigated or otherwise prevented from occurring.
So, like I said, this isn't really a part of history I'm especially knowledgeable about but I understand the collapse of European feudalism to be the ultimate consequence of
- political changes that increasingly shifted authority and power away from feudal lords and into the hands of centralized sovereigns
- economic changes that lessened the value of land ownership and placed increased importance on the acquisition of capital and the transference of physical labor
- military changes that resulted in knights and levies becoming less desirable soldiery than professional mercenaries or combatants with modern training and equipment.
Of course, none really function in isolation - it is the intersectionality of these things that resulted in feudalism's death knell. If you can introduce any sort of appropriate rupture to these societal shifts, you could easily present an alternate reality where feudalism persisted.
You mean like it did in IRL Russia?
>>44399394
Russia was a 13th-century society until the 20th century.
