Counts as animal-focused druid.
I don't know who this is, but I think there's more to druid bullshit than silly outfits
>>44403968
I don't actually think that's true.
>>44403977
It's kind of hard for me to tell, since I usually steer clear of anyone claiming to be a druid as a general rule both in and out of games
Describe your character creation process /tg/.
I don't mean rolling for stats and choosing feats, describe how you discover the essence of this fictional being whom you'll be spending so much of your leisure time with.
For myself, I like to start with the character's main driving force in life, what they want more than anything. Then I start to set up internal or external obstacles to achieving that goal. Once I have a handle on these two opposing forces, I can start thinking about how they look and behave and how their life has shaped them up to the point of the campaign.
>See character in [Work of Fiction] that I like.
>Get inspired
>Take one or two more characters from [Works of Fiction that I also like].
>Throw characters in a blender, hit puree.
>Modify the resulting mush until its no longer recognizable as any of the original materials.
>Expand backstory and motivations.
>Find character art.
>Done

>not commisioning your own art
>Find character art
>Shoehorn character art into GM's setting
>Make backstory
>Find mechanics to suit backstory, without giving up mechanical strength.
So Khorne is known to hate sorcery. He views it as cowardly and unworthy, a personal offense to him. He tasks his warriors with brutally murdering any mage/psyker they come across.
But have you seen how the Slaughter Priests aka Khorne's holy men work? They channel the power of Khorne through them. In battle, they pray for Khorne to aid them and strike down their enemies, and Khorne answers. Slaughter Priests can dispel magic, cause enemy blood to boil, cause enemies to explode into showers of gore, they can buff their comrades by strengthening their bones and granting them godly strength, they can infuse their comrades and enemies with daemonic rage, and last but definitely not least, in especially bloody battles they can call upon Khorne to hurl a gigantic brass skull at their enemies. This is the Khornate equivalent of nuke.
So tell me guys how is this different than the sorcery that Khorne hates so much?
>>44402225
It's different because he is not actually calling upon the winds of magic. It is not unknown that followers of khorne call for his blessing and he gifts them with the rage and mutation and superhuman strength to shed blood. This is no different. The Slaughterpriest is merely asking khorne to aid the others and himself in battle, and khorne is responding.
Whereas other priests and wizards, especially, call upon the powers of magic. Which is something khorne hates.
It's not entirely fair to compare the slaughterpriest to a wizard. It would be more appropriate to compare a slaughterpriest to another priest, say a warrior priest. Neither calls upon sorcery through study or latent ability, but both call for the aid from their god and wield the power he grants them.
>>44402225
>So tell me guys how is this different than the sorcery that Khorne hates so much?
It's not.
AoS doesn't care about the traditional lore.
>>44402439
>Slaughterpriest is merely asking khorne
>other priests call upon the powers of magic
>only Chaos Gods answer prayers
>thinks Khorne would kill your enemies for you.
Hey /tg/, does anyone have any experience with Digimon tabletops? I'm starting one up for a few friends in a few weeks and need to decide on a system. I'm currently trying to decide between pic related and FATE but I'm definitely open to other suggestions.
Also general Digimon thread. What's your favorite? Got any stories?
>>44402009
A brief breakdown of the setting.
12 children, including the party, are given the chance to test a new prototype virtual reality device, large pods like you'd see people sleep in in old sci-fi movies. In all actuality they're guinea pigs to see if scientists had finally constructed portals to the digital world.
The digital world itself is in turmoil. Two armies wage war for a digicore located at the center of the planet, with the most valuable locations being various drilling sites working to reach it.
From the eastern Diamin kingdom comes Blastmon, a strict but fair king who wishes to use the digicore to construct a utopia. However, mechanical Digimon have no place in this new world.
In the west is Oxygon, lead by Rust Tyrannomon. A vicious Caligula who only holds his seat as leader for his immense strength. Most of the tactical dicisions and day-to-day chores of being a ruler are handled by his advisor Lucemon (Fall down Mode), who has his own devious goals for the digicore.
>>44402136
In actuality the digicore is a prison created by the last set of digidestined to contain Megidramon, the bringer of the end of the world and calamity personified. Josiah, the leader of the previous party, offered to stay and guard the prison. For 85 years he stood resolute by his charge but after so much time had passed the seal began to wane. Megidramon's influence began to seep through the cracks, offering eternal youth and powers unknown to Josiah in exchange for his servitude. The tamer refused and refused until he laid on his deathbed. Scared for his life he accepted the offer and became the high priest of Megidramon. For 400 years he plotted and schemed until a chance brought itself before him in the form of Lucemon. Corrupted by the great dragon's influence, Lucemon and Josiah began to spread rumors of a great treasure hidden in the centre of the world. When Oxygon soldiers attempted to take sole control of the large drill inside Diamin borders, the spark of war was ignited.
Never played in one but I've always been interested to. My only experiences with digimon to are from freeform forums.

OP question from last thread:
X-Wing question
Why is Soontir Fel so good? If I like Intys, do I need him? Is it worth it to buy a single interceptor to get him? I've currently have the TFA starter, Imp Aces and Reb Aces.
How do I convince my friends to play XWING?
>>44401383
oh and with all 2-speed maneuvers being green, the interceptor can get rid of the stress more easily than most other ships

Pre suit Darth Vader vs the imperium of man.
Also, asume he hates the imperium as much as he hates tusken raiders who killed his mom.
>>44400837
>Rekt by Obiwan due to a tactical error Obi-wan called out before it happened.
He gets a few Marines, but nothing big.
>>44400858
Obi wan had the force though and knew anakin like his own son.
The spess marines have no idea who this guy is.
In terms of psychic mojo, Fortygay is considerably more OP than Star Wars. Darth Vader may be powerful, but there are more powerful psykers in 40k.
One space marine librarian would be enough.
/tg/ I am curious, do you allow Drow in your campaign as a PC? If yes, do you have restrictions on why/how they can be part of the party? If no, why not?
what a shitty Ashe clone.
>>44400239
>Drow as PC
Yes
>Restrictions?
Don't be a dick or a character counter-productive to the party
>>44400239
>Drow in your campaign
>Drow in OPs pic
The Drow people, short, trollish, and considered rather repulsive with rough asymmetrical skin, often covered in warts and whiskers. Often considered a quiet and shy people. Naturally skilled in Stealth, silence, and subtlety, if not physique.
Sup /tg/, I'm working on a setting and need a little help.
See, when people end up lost on a dark forest road, they sometimes end up a place they'd never expect. A city; glowing in the night sky. Made of scrap, junk, and recycled things many times over. The people here are not of one race but of many; humans being just one. But this place is strange. It is never day here, it is always night. The forest seems endless now, you cannot return the way you came. This is where the lost folk end up; Night Garden.
The city itself is a mishmash of organic areas and urban high rises. Trees dot the sides of roads and parks with small stone or cement paths are where people travel. Cars that are still running are remade again and again with as many parts as they can get, often times making up new ones or combining several machines together. Many means of transportation ended up in the few mechanical factories of the city, re purposed to pull assembly lines or as a simple crane for construction.
The power never seems to stop flowing; the 'grid' where all the energy comes from is one of the greatest mysteries of the city. But residents cannot abuse it, else the grid may shut down for some time and cause horrible things from the darkness to sneak in. Guns are surprisingly uncommon here; made by hand they are called 'Chimneys'; Gunsmiths are therefore called 'Sweeps'. People eat racoons, semi-domesticated bats and pigs here, and occasionally go hunting in the woods for a few skittish deer, but sometimes they come back with something even stranger... or not at all.
But I still need your help with this setting. What sort of races can you find here? What body governs this city, if at all? What sort of magic or strange technology can be found? What about the interesting cultural traditions and crazy characters?
How would YOU expand upon this setting, if you so desired?
>>44400187
I think I would make it to where the flow of time is a bit off. Like you and a friend are playing in the woods one night and you end up here after you lose sight of your friend. You're freaking out for awhile of course but after awhile you get use to your new home. But then one day there's a festival of some great hero from like a hundred years ago. Once you see the picture of the hero it's your friend who you got lost with.
>>44400548
I like this idea, but only if it helps keep technology in the town at a relatively industrial/post-apocalyptic level. You can't make everything here, much of it has to be scrapped and reworked from that which is brought over or found.
>>44400656
How does agriculture work with it being night all the time. Maybe mushrooms and there's a couple of "food factories" that have sun lamps where them grow fruits and vegetables at. But there so over priced that the common class can only afford them maybe once a year or so.
Guild Ball thread?
Someone help me understand the damn playbook, as I've read over multiple posts online and the book itself and it's still confusing to me.
I'll use mercury as an example. His second result from his top row is 2 points of damage. His 4th result from the bottom row is 3 points of damage. Why would you ever do the three points of damage when you could apply 4 hits to the top row, and with wrap around taking effect do 4 points of damage?
As for the red filled ones, I guess they function the same as the none filled ones, except they generate a point of momentum right?
So I guess that's why the bottom columns take more to wrap around because they generate momentum?
No those are just choices
>>44400180

In order to deal 3 damage you would require 4 hits. So with his tac, you need to beat the opponent's defense on all 4 dice to get the 3 damage
Every time you make an attack. you roll to see how many successes you get. Per every success you get to choose a wider selection of attacks and effects, but you choose one only unless it wraps.
>As for the red filled ones, I guess they function the same as the none filled ones, except they generate a point of momentum right?
color filled ones generate momentum.
>So I guess that's why the bottom columns take more to wrap around because they generate momentum?
Only the color filled ones. Butchers have a red filled plays

The five elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Pizza. Many Scientists and Magicians used to claim that there were only 4 elements, but after many experiments and much research, everyone now agrees that fire is indeed an element.
Really though, how about we try to create a co-functioning Fallout-themed vault. I saw on /mlp/ they created a damn town and operated it through hierarchy and a whole lot of gogole sheets. Since SS13 is a thing that could be similar we could try and make this a thing.
Intrigued. What if the Vault number is Vault 420. A majority of decisions are made by the upper class members, and are mostly for their own benefit, paying little attention to the issues of the lower class. But the lower class has no objections, because their food and waters are laced with a drug that hazes perception and senses.
Or we could try being a normal vault
>>44399017
How so? None of the vaults are really "Normal". They're not just shelters, they were made for social experiments
