Song of Swords is a realistic fantasy tabletop RPG that draws inspiration from historical fechtbuchs, weapons and armor. Its combat system is fast and it can be used for both fantasy and historical/mundane settings.
Call of the Void is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.

Sorry for being late and missing Tuesday. This will count as a special event thread that I will do my best to keep using over the next few days. Naturally I wont be expecting much during the holidays but after if the thread is still up things can get interesting.
Anyway.
Last time our MC decided it was time to get some gifts for his new GF to start off the relationship. In this regard he got lost, stayed over at the bandits, got lost again, ran into the wrong dungeon, found good dungeon, looted it sneakily, and then got lost yet again while trying to return. At this point the MC is firmly believing he really needs to take some wilderness classes to help with this sorta thing and a get a damned map. Finally have a series of misadventures involving getting lost repeatedly he finally found his way back to the dungeon where he was then rewarded and was offered some rewards due to the offerings he brought back. Of which he has yet to select.
So continues the story of a dungeon keeper and adventurer who have fallen in love.

Become The Vampire 22
You get into your fighting stance as the vampire charges you, keeping your eyes peeled for anything sneaky. He isn't a trained martial artist or anything, just a street thug, but you're not in peak form and he's a vampire. You keep on the defensive, trying to figure out a way to counterattack without leaving yourself open, dodging around his strikes.
“Stand still!”
He throws a wild haymaker at you, and then another, and another, swinging his fists almost blindly. You smirk a little bit and give him a bit of a push, shoving his arm a bit when he misses his punch.
“Not very good at this, are you. I wanted a challenge. Should I have tried your friends?”
The vampire's eyes turn red, and you watch as his fangs lengthen and his body trembles. You're reminded of a passage from your father's notes, about vampires and their hunger. Vampires can contain their need for blood so long as they retain their focus and self-control, but the longer they're hungry for, the weaker their hold on their sensibilities. And this guy has probably been starving.
He lunges for you, trying to tackle you, and you barely get out of the way in time. He tries again, nearly knocking you over, and when he hits the wall he immediately bounces back to take you down. You try to pry him off, but the sting of your burnt hands makes it hard to get a solid grip on him, and he scrambles to try to force your head to once side.
“Hey!”
An acorn bounces off the vampire's head, and he turns towards Andrea. You look over and spot two piles of ash behind her, with saplings growing out of them. She tosses a handful of acorns into the air, catching the largest one.

The vampire stands slowly, glaring at Andrea and snarling. Andrea turns the acorn over in her hand.
“Another acorn fell from the tree and asked the first why he was sad, and the first told him how he'd never become a great big tree. And do you know what the second acorn said?”
The vampire charges, and Andrea's fingers glow with a soft green light. She thrusts her hand forwards, a tree branch growing from the acorn and piercing through the vampire's chest. She twists her hand, and branch snapping, leaving a fresh stake stuck in the vampire, which quickly turns to dust.
“The tree was inside you all along.”
Andrea kneels down, setting the newly formed sapling down. Her hands glow brightly and the roots pierce through the tarmac. She collects a few acorns from the branches as they form and pockets them, walking over to you.
“Well, that was exciting. And unlike you. I was expecting you to have the edge there.”
You shrug slightly.
“Burnt hands and no magic, plus I didn't pack my weapons with me. Neat trick, by the way.”
Andrea nods a bit.
“I learned it from my friend. Apparently I've got a talent for it. It helps when you can just bring a strawberry or something to the woods, make a whole plant and just gorge yourself on fresh fruit at lunch.”
You nod a bit and glance around. No sign of any other vampires around, which is a plus, but you should probably be careful.

Same system as Become The Dragon Quest. If you don't know what that is, it's best of three d20 rolls. I name a stat that sums up what you're trying to do, and if I don't name a relevant skill, you try to fill in the blank based on what you're trying to accomplish. “Break open the door” might be Strength based, but if you've been playing baseball after school and there's a lead pipe nearby, you could apply your Baseball skill to the roll. A 20 on the die is a crit threat, and if either of the other two rolls is 20 or higher after mods, it's a critical. A crit fail is when you have two or more 1s. So far this system has worked out well enough. We'll get into combat rules as needed, but in basic terms you have wounds, not HP, and the worse the wounds, the more penalties you accrue while doing other things.

Previously, our protagonist was captured and thrown into the Pit, a prison made from an ancient sinkhole, from which none had ever escaped. After five years of darkness and rat consumption, a quake liberates her and she is once again loosed on the world. She and some of her fellow inmates ride to Dragonfell, but a harsh winter, constabularies, and predators bring her to the gates alone. After infiltrating the walls, she makes her way through town until learning of an uprising against Sir Annandale's new regime, lead by a mysterious woman known as the Raven Queen. After summoning her with a pyre that burns a great number of her thralls, our protagonist is knocked unconscious, and now awakens.
The room spins for a few minutes, and you regain your senses one at a time. First, cold air grazes your bare arms. Then, the echo of empty chambers rings in your ears. As your eyes adjust to the incredibly damp light in the small room you find yourself in, you begin to hear shuffling footsteps. You stumble to your feet and find a door, heavy and reinforced with iron. Through a small peephole at about eye level, you spy someone approaching, about your height and lean, baring a candle for light down a long, dark, stone corridor.

I'm actually disappointing that the succubus trying at redemption couldn't just stay dead . The repercussions could change things for better or worse, possibly dooming the campaign, but you wouldn't have had to pull the 'just pretending'.
I don't even usually get salty about redemption attempts, but god. She only started turning away from evil from direct, helm of opposite alignment, level mind fuckery. Could just as easily get it refucked and be back to being a rank and file (though with a bitching stat array) demon.I got room on my 'purge from this plane' list now that dragons are out of the picture. Maybe Fey next?

The sliver slips towards the chain. Brigette looks at it, open panic on her face, and turns her eyes back to you. You can see her face set in fury.
"You're bluffing. I'll match."
The crowd of demons hushes and leans in. You take the pipe out of your mouth and sigh.
"I meant what I said, Brigette. I'm going to do everything I can to get you out of this alive."
"You can't save me," she whispers. "The angel will kill me, and that'll be that."
You turn over your hand, and Brigette winces. She reveals the Ace of Spades and the Jack of Clubs.
"You're bad at poker, aren't you?" you murmur sadly.
"Fucking terrible," the red-haired woman sobs.
The knife floats up from the table and dives for her. On instinct, Brigette staggers away, holding up her arms to protect her face. Cloth parts as she's cut; red, red blood soaks her clothes and splatters the floor.
She can't hear the chain shatter past the screaming.
Freezing fog billows onto the stage, and Lora steps out with a cold, grim look on her face. She ignores Brigette and plunges her sword into the table; it stands straight up, with its tip in the wood.
The cards move back into the deck and shuffle themselves, almost furiously.
"How much steel do you have behind those convictions?" Lora murmurs, her eyes dark with hate. "What'll you bet, to save her life?"
