Post historical figures you think would be a That Guy
>>47787699
Andrew Jackson would probably be the kind of dick who needs to "win" at D&D.
Nikola Tesla, while nice enough interpersonally, was weird enough that he would certainly be some form of That Guy. If nothing else, his penchant for not flushing the toilet would certainly suck.
>>47787699
"Uncle" Joe Biden, known for being a very creepy weirdo on capitol hill. Bombastic, often drunk-sounding, the weird fake stories, plus of course all the fondling of women and young girls.
Try image searching "Creepy Joe Biden". There are way more pics than this. Even a few shots of him flashing the pedo-smile.
>>47787767
Tesla would be the guy that searches through 56 splatbooks to come up with an insanely intricate but very unique character build.
So tell me about your party members /tg/!
Cleric is the only good one
Not mine, but it doesn't deserve the hate it gets... Was there ever another update after this one?
One of my games is down to two people, which ended up being a unique duo.
Esho-Zahar, the ambitious 15 year old and middle-aged lizard wizard, on the left. NE. Evil-tier ambition, wants to become a lich or otherwise gain a longer lifespan, power, and later fame through the easiest means necessary. He'll stop at very little for his ambition within the hunting guild he joined, though most ignore him due to how obviously lizard he is. Recently found out devils and demons exist in the realm, and how to summon them, as well as making a girallion arm-powered skelecopter.
His companion (my PC) is Anthe Twoshield, a duskblade investigator of mysterious monster incidents, on the right. CN, though closer to TN. A free-spirited, aggressive daughter of nobles who wanted to impress her ex-adventurer babying parents. She usually sends them trophies of anything strange or unique she hunts, and has impressed them as a result. Wants to become stronger as well, but out of personal effort instead of shortcuts. Never seen leaving her suit of armor, and she's gained a reputation for being able to kill most things with a single strike. Might actually be a tiefling.
They kick monster ass, solve crimes, and ride in style.

Bump until I get home.
If I told you a generic western mecha RPG had custom mecha construction, what features would you want out of it?
>>47727046
Mechs could have a modular design. Certain arms/legs/torsos/weapon systems would be designed to work together (some could even get some sort of bonus from using parts that match or using a complete set), but you could also end up with a cobbled-together mech scavenged from the remains of your enemies.

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirteen year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.
>Rules
At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.
In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins
Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.
Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process
I hope everyone has fun.

Red Ribbon Army
>>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYWjGlhKkl8
You tell your friends that you can't let the Red Ribbon Army get the Dragonballs.
"Besides, I need to find Goku," you add. "He might be in trouble."
Bulma looks down. "I hope he's okay."
"Krillin, what do you think?" you ask your bald friend.
"Well...." He looks blue in the face, so you're sure the idea of taking on the Red Ribbon Army terrifies him. "I can't just leave you and Goku out here by yourselves. And besides, Master Roshi said my training's done, so if I don't come with you, I'll just fall behind. Count me in."
You tell Bulma and Oolong that they can go, but you want the Dragon Radar.
Bulma hands you the device, and the Dragonball that you recovered.
"Good luck," she tells you and Krillin.
Oolong and Bulma climb into the airship and take off. They don't get far before there's a boom, and the ship plummets to the ground in the distance.
Yeah, maybe trying to fly away wasn't the best idea.
"Oh, man, you think they're okay?" Krillin asks.
>A. Only one way to find out
>B. Yeah, Bulma's too stubborn to die, and Oolong is really lucky when it comes to survival
>C. You don't know, but you'd better find out
>D. Something else

> When we last left off, our brave protagonist was desperately searching the Brig for a keycard. This keycard is vital to the use of a suit that would allow her to traverse the deep seas around Varuna Base, and possibly facilitate a rescue.
> But first, she would have to deal with the Blacksmith Shrimp...
>>47805101
NOPE NOPE NOPE
Not dealing with that today, no sir! I don't want to be pulped by a giant fucking shrimp today!
I hurry to the other end of the hall, then look back. The shrimp skitters, clicking its teeth.
>>47805123
Let's jump into room 4, sounds safe to me!

OH FUCK. LOOK AT ROOM 6.
THERE'S TWO OF THEM.

Why would they get feels from someone trying to take over the world?
3d3 Solar Exaltations appear in your setting and begin searching for worthy souls to attach to.
Is everything going to be ok?
>>47801787
Looks like we're going to have some new superheroes with peculiar powers.
Fun fun
>>47801843
they even have authentic out of nowhere maximum edge moments! they'll fit right in.
Rolled 3, 3, 3 = 9 (3d3)
So this many of something show up? I don't know what a Solar Exaltation is but they sound awful
>After studying over 180 google teams they didn't find any evidence that the composition of the teams mattered (i.e. friends outside of work, male/female, introverts, extroverts, intelligence). Instead what they focused on were the “group norms” or unwritten rules of how the groups interacted with each other. There were two norms that were most important to a successful group.
>1) Members spoke in roughly the same proportion, what the researchers call, ‘‘equality in distribution of conversational turn-taking.’’
>2) Members all had “average social sensitivity”. They could understand how other team members felt based on non-verbal queues. The underperforming teams had low sensitivity amongst the team members.
I think this sort of thing can be applied to game groups.
>>47801536
In what way?
This is pretty basic group composition stuff. Everyone has fun if they're all contributing and want the same thing out of the game, and if there isn't anyone with crippling autism.
>>47804459
or if there's this one guy/gal that gets offended by everything. or that one guy thats so fucking edgy he never heard the word fun or th- you know what yea i think just saying "crippling autism" covers it.
What kind of deathtraps would a supervillain with present-day technology put in their lair? The more inefficient the better.
>>47795836
I'd build the main lair centered on a Large Hadron Collider
>>47795836
You just have to have one room be a giant microwave oven.
Turning platter and everything.
A hallway that is 50 miles long with a door every 15 feet. The doors only open in one direction. You go through the first door and realize it can't be opened from the other side. You go through the next door hoping that it has more promise, etc.
How do you actually stock a dungeon? I have a floor all mapped out, but I'm at a loss as to how to fill it with stuff. Is it really just arbitrarily deciding there's a trap in x hallway or that y room will have kobolds and treasure in it?
It's like I'm staring into eternity
>>47788474
Not actually the map I'm using. I'm going old school, graph and notebook paper, pencil, and a binder.
>>47788428
So I have a good rule of thumb that I read in some book can't recall the title but it had OSR style drawings and it was great for dungeoncrawl advice.
1/3 of the rooms have monsters, 1/3 have traps or a non monster encounter, 1/3 are empty
Of the rooms with monsters, 1/3 of them have treasure. Then for each empty room there is at least one wandering monster in the dungeon.
Also don't forget not all treasure is gold and silver, sometimes it can just be a nice empty barrel that will hold things well or some mundane gear or odd fascinations like a monocle or a fancy carving of a bird.

After that, we made a lot of fetch quest and basically tried to make our way in the higher rank of the order while doing the least amount of actual work possible. We lied, bullied, stole, traded favors and sometime busted heads in the name of the Scarlet Flame.
In the beginning, the mage wondered if Ardeshir was really a paladin, but he managed to convince him that everything they did was for the Greater Good. They always had the best food, were never sent anywhere dangerous and nobody messed with them, so it helped make the argument more convincing.
It did not last, though and one day, reports of an undead army that were sent since two months finally made their way to the outpost, and the duo was chosen to negociate with their leader (A Lich) and ask him what would make him go, all according to the standard procedure. They tried to explain to their superior that it was suicide, and the officer told them that if they refused to follow order, they would be demoted and put to latrine duty. Of course, between a boring life of cleaning toilets and an encounter with a bloodthirsty army of undead, they made the reasonable choice and choose to go see the Lich.
On their way to the crypt, they fought a few bandits, some undead, they also met a caravan that fell into an ambush and help themselves with its content after Ardeshir helpfully ended the suffering of the mortally wounded caravaneer (He just had an arrow in the left ankle but that sort of things can get ugly)
