What cyoas do you guys want to see revised?

Pride, forever and ever.

Would you guys prefer a generic giant mecha CYOA, or a Pacific Rim CYOA?

Generic Mecha.

What exactly did we Ej Har heroes do to make you hate us this much?
We've just got different priorities than you, that's all. We're definitely not "terrorists".

>>47791084
Your dad was murdered by an Ej Har hero? Jeez, sorry to hear that. If you've got any clues, mind sharing them? As a member of the Disciplinary Squad, I'm not gonna let a murderer ruin our reputation!
... Well, not that we had much of a reputation to begin with, but still!
>>
>>47791351
The funny thing is that he keeps treating Ej Har like they're the middle eastern school when Box is making an ACTUAL desert school for next time.
>>
>>47791351
I have this weirdly shaped anti-magic sword, and I know that the killer has the other half!

I'm not sure who murdered him, but I heard rumors that if I came to Ej Har, I'd find answers.

Your Student Government President looks mighty suspicious though.
>>
>>47791372
He seems to have Ej Har and Odesium confused since he's talking about blowing people up and stuff.
>>
>>47791351
>responding to posts from last thread

anon please. Dead threads stay dead. You don't bring up old shit.
>>
>>47791382
Hey! We at Odesium are much more advanced than that!

When we blow things up, we always keep ourselves a safe distance away!
>>
>>47791396
And the only explosives at Ej Har are either exploding spells or traps, and nobody is stupid enough to trigger their own explosive trap.
>>
>>47791376
What, Prez? No way!
I mean, I can look into it for you, but I really don't think they did it.

>>47791396
Now that's a blatant lie! I damn near lost my arm when I studied with you guys!
Hell, I still have burn marks from it!

Finally got this here OC in a more or less serviceable state.
It's not really finished as I have companions, perks, anon's valiant escape waifus and more in the works but it's going to be a while before those are done and I feel this is perfectly playable as is.

Builds, complaints, feedback, even more ideas for augmentations are all very much welcome.

be gentle, anon, this is my first OC

>Basing it on how GOOD you are in real life.
Anon, this is a bad idea. The only CYOA like this that remotely worked was Autism Prison because it gave us more points for being shit.

Also why are you treating IQs of 130 as bad? That's remarkably good when the average is barely 100.
>>
Daily reminder all other schools are batshit insane and filled with autists.

Odesium is the only sane hero academy school and actually is working on ways to save lives.

No. Popular CYOAs have been exiled before and then come back when the fuss has died down some. There were threads for Conduit and Stardust, for example.
Now, these weren't exactly GOOD threads, but the current level of thread content that's just hero academy/builds for hero academy/rp about the builds is a little extreme currently.

>>47791712

I'm sorry, but as another anon said, the scoring system just doesn't work. Most people here won't score that well, which will decrease the popularity of this CYOA. Also, CYOAs generally shouldn't be based on how you are now in RL, that clashes with the escapism wish-fufilment nature of this form of entertainment.

In addition, the upgrades are far too expensive. For an average person, having a crossbow in your arm and not needing to sleep gives you a 1/3 chance of dying.

The only way to have a decent score is to be afflicted with a ton of mental illnesses. Given the relatively weak nature of the powers, it just isn't worth it.

Remove the whole scoring system, just give points to spend on powers. Make the powers cheaper. If you keep the system as it is, I really don't think anons will like it.
>>

>>
>>47791891
I think there's some potential in having the start of a CYOA be based on your real-life self. Seems like it might help with the self insertion part, like it's "really happening". It would need a better and more generous scoring, though.
>>
>>47791904
>Anon, have you forgotten where you are?

Well, memes aside, being socially inept is not a mental illness.
>>
>>47791918
Did you miss the memo where she declared a week-long free-for-all where beating as many other people up as possible got you higher in the Student Council?
>>
>>47791904

Many people here might have one or two (an autist with anxiety? sure) but not the 3-5 you would need to get a decet power selection and not die or be crippled
>>
>>47791790
The admittedly flawed assumption is that people of average intelligence would have an easier time just going with the flow, whereas genius level intellect would, assumedly, be more in control of their emotions. This leaves above average to realize the danger they're in and freak out accordingly.

Also, anon, I'm giving points for mental illnesses and shit. I'm pretty sure manic depression doesn't make you "better" as a person.

Chastity is very much hardmode, but it's also potentially the most powerful. At full strength you can erase a full-power sin in 10 seconds. At long range even.

I've been considering making an add-on for that that adds boon:

Holy Gifts (Choose 1):
Notes: Charity is allowed to own a gift, and kindness cannot gift a Holy Gift.

Universal Focus- A shard of the altar of diligence, holding this aloft will cause the infinite energy of the universe to flow through you. Even as one of the chosen, your body isn't made to handle this much energy coming in all at once

Shoulder Angel- will do her best to keep you on track, give you tips about working with your restriction, and may even help out more directly, though she's not much of a fighter. She can die, in which case she respawns 40 hours later, descending from heaven to join back up with you.

Little Red Box- delay losing your power when breaking your rules

Rosary Beads- Holding these while praying at a church lets you teleport yourself and up to twelve nearby people to any other church in the world.

The Colt- A revolver with six bullets. Each bullet will kill whatever's shot with it instantly, no matter what it is.

Pure Holy Energy- You begin with your powers as if you had been doing good for a year

Second Chance- The first time you die, you awaken three days later in a cave in the middle-east

The Reward- You may select a mortal to become the unnoficial Virtue of Karma, who reflects damage back on attackers. Doesn't count towards kindness' power

Plus 2 or three more that I haven't come up with yet

105% to start.

Same choices:
-3% Siren
-3% Atlas
-3% Horus

That leaves me with 91%. I think you made this way too lax on points, I preferred having to take the chance. The appeal of the CYOA to me was the hopelessness of the situation, and the big numbers reflected that.

Are you the original creator of the sins from op? Neat. I wouldn't worry too much about bonus boons for sins if you're gonna have companions. The main reason I'm making bonuses for the virtues is to make up for them not having companions. Really just try to make the sins more balanced with eachother, please? I mean, with mine there's some options that are more popular than others (I'm looking at you, kindness) but it's mainly because people don't feel they'd be able to keep up with the restriction in order to get the power. Meanwhile with the sins, sloth's doomed to never be anything more than annoying, being worse than pride even at his best, and the gluttony's madness makes him all but unplayable (the one build I saw making him doable was to eat envy immediately so that you can steal sanity). And of course pride is op as balls even without a companion, being able to command the other sins (and most virtues, since I didn't want to shit all over everything you did)

full text that had to be cut short to fit in the post:
>Universal Focus- A shard of the altar of diligence, holding this aloft will cause the infinite energy of the universe to flow through you. Diligence is constantly getting energy from the universe at a slow drip, this grants a steady stream for five minutes. Even as one of the chosen, your body isn't made to handle this much energy coming in all at once, and if you don't constantly use that energy as you get it it will eat away at your body, fizzling it into nothingness. At the end of the five minutes, you are drained of all energy you had, regardless of source. Diligence keeps whatever he had stockpiled, but cannot stockpile energy from the universal focus or use it to super (he's pretty much already Super 3 or 4 when activated anyway).

A mortal would probably die instantly, and humility wouldn't last much longer, both being able to expend the energy fast enough. I might have to add conditions to keep charity from Sharing the power. Let's say that holy gifts must be stolen manually, but will work for the holder (to include the box keeping the sins from being dropping, though it'd do absolutely nothing for a mortal)

The altars are what give you your initial powers, the shard is the only thing relevant after your initial choice.

2nd year: sports, Battle of the arts (As part of the music club)
3rd year: sports, Battle of the arts, Blind date (2,3 mecherath, Is she the one that got me into the basilisk den? I believe so)
4th year: sports, Battle of the arts, Blind date (4,1 kara’tee, since I’m not heavy on magic usage this should go fine. I try my best not to antagonize her for her opinion and have a good time) , Basilisk den
5th year: sports, Battle of the arts, Blind date (4,1 again… Same as above, except now we already know each other a little), Basilisk den

Art club (music club), culture club (music club)
Exchange program x2

Andrew was born the son of a traveling bard and performer couple. The two thought him a lot about music and the nomadic lifestyle on the road. He spend a lot of his youth talking to adventurers that where protecting the caravan that his parents were traveling with and the image of those adventurers fighting enemies is something that left a big impression on him.

The adventurer that has the biggest space in Andrews heart was a hero who that studied in ej har. Usually this hero was no different from other adventurers, but whenever a problem appeared that no other adventurer could handle he would solve it. Andrew only known him for less than a year but in this year he never saw this man doubt himself. He knew that whatever the world threw at him he would be able to solve it. This courage and confidence is something Andrew will always try to emulate. And this man alone is the reason why he decided to go to Ej Har instead of st.flares.

Because Andrew isn’t really courageous (not by lack of trying) he has decided that he will be more of use as an archer instead of a frontline fighter. He specializes in killing or incapacitating his enemies in as few attacks as possible to minimize risk to his allies.
>>
>>47792865
No, I think I'm gonna be keeping him having a good synergy with it, the burning he DOES take will do more good than harm, probably just disable his share while it's active. Or actually, he can only share healing and toughness, and the shard only gives raw energy, so it's probably fine.

That was one of the goals for this cyoa though: To have different builds/strategies be a thing, with a big focus on different things working together well. For example, the shard would also be really good on kindness and patience. The former being able to create exponentially heavier gifts (spawning tanks and such) and allowing patience to rewind time with relative ease

The more virtuous Karma acts, the more generally powerful they will become, gaining speed, strength, etc, and strengthening a passive effect called [Golden Rule]. Ageaus "Lucky" the Faun.

>SCHOOL
St. Flares

>CLASSES
Ranged Combat II (focus on thrown weapons)
First Aid I
Unarmed Combat I (Goat kicks!)
Knowledge I (Astronomy/Geography)
Divine Arts III (Particularly focused on the god/ess of travel or stars)
Maneuvers I
Druidism I (He IS a fey, after all)

>CLASSMATES/COMPANIONS
Kit (She's exotic, like Lucky, but the relationship would be purely platonic)
Sorte (Like Kit, platonic relationship, she'd be more of a tutor and companion for romps through the forests)
3 more TBA (who wants to be friends with the Faun?)

>EVENTS
Great Tournament: Great Hunt (When fighting beasties it's imperative you bring a healer along!)
Harvest Fest.: Fundraising (he has a soft spot for them orphans, yo.)
Gathering of Life: Party Planner (He's a faun, he knows how to have a good time)

>CLUBS
Music (What? Don't look at me like that. He likes playing the pipes, sue me.)
Culture Club (He'd probably bounce around as the years passed, cooking one year, book club the next, etc.)

As far as fauns go, Lucky's a bit of an odd duck. He's not particularly capricious, doesn't seek ah... carnal pleasures, and is actually quite the gentleman when it comes to the lovely ladies. He doesn't mind wine and drinks responsibly, and is more than capable of sitting quietly in class, learning all he can, as opposed to being a social butterfly like you might expect out of a faun student.

He's stricken with an insatiable wanderlust, however, and joined St. Flares with the intent of learning everything he needs to travel the world at his own pace. He finds beauty in the stars, and peace from the sunsets. And if the academy can teach him what it takes to be a goodhearted person and hero, all the more better!

You start with 100 points
You add/subtract points based on the instructions

You take powers and lose points

You roll d100, if you roll less than the remaining amount of points you live without problems. If you roll between your number of points and your number of points +20. You live but get maimed some way. If you roll above that you die.
>>
>>47792877
Fuck it let's roll the dice.

Abusive Childhood 110
Under 30 120
Depression probably counts 130
How remarkable is remarkably?

AG#458 Swarm 117
AG#459 Ouroboros 95
Wasn't going to take this until I saw that Clockwork helps me reduce the risk of cancer while also improving my body
AG#511-#519 Clockwork 77
Not entirely sure what was intended to be taken, but heart, kidneys, liver, pancreas, stomach, lungs, large intestines, small intestines. 0.1% of "untreatable cancer", whatever exactly that means, per year isn't fantastic but the other upsides are good enough I think.
AG#537 Caliburn's Scabbard 74
AG#557 Horus 69
AG#558 Sherlock 57
AG#560 Farsight 54
Mostly just wanted Farsight before I saw the prereqs. The other stuff is definitely good too.

All right, the plan was to just fuck myself up with implants then live or die based on chance, but honestly this isn't too bad. Maybe could've picked something other than "live a lot" but oh well. I realize you were coming up with pseudo-realistic technological justifications for the augments but Spectre is a bit meh at the moment, while I usually take shapeshifting type powers at any opportunity. I'm not asking you to keep toning down your adventure or anything, just that as is it doesn't really seem that worth taking. As an alternative suggestion, maybe having it closer to true-shapeshifting but it does this with some painful body-horror type dermal implants that literally reshape your body over the course of a few hours or a day.

Also, for Clockwork, I wasn't sure exactly what you intended by 10 vital organs. I did a bit of googling to get some info and most of the lists were split into groups of either 5 or 10 and the ones that had 10 were either the 8 I chose plus Brain (which you implied wasn't an option, understandably) and Skin (Which I didn't want to take). Some of them combined the intestines and added Eyes to the list as well, but you have that under Horus.

Anyways, fingers crossed!

>>
>>47793240
Basically you touch an object made up of a continuous substance. Alloys, gold, wood, water, etc. You get a sense of said substance, kinda as though it were a somewhat numb limb.
At will, you can cause more of said substance to be created at any point along the object's continuity in any shape you can consistently picture.

In doing this you're using the gloop the good doctor implanted into you which means you can easily run out. However, by touching the substance you created you can cause it to turn back into gloop and reabsorb it.

Separate organs, though the boosted functionality would allow you to function as well from one augmented lung as from two unaugmented ones. The good doctor says the brain is far too complex an organ to build from scratch complete with memories, personality and such.
However, Ouroboros will gradually replace your brain with the specially bio-engineered reversible stem cells.
>>47793335
Vital organs as in organs without which humans quickly die. The decreased risk of cancer applies to another augment - Ouroboros, which gives you a 0.5% yearly chance of developing it.

Specialists generally work fine alone as well. It's just a trick of finding a way to apply your specialty to everything you do and avoiding anything that you can't work into it. "When all you have is a hammer"

Where specialists fail is when they are up against a challenge that specifically plays into their weakness. The trick is to pick your battles.
>>
>>47792807
I stole her from boku no hero academia
>>
>>47793690
I'd say it's more nuanced.
For generalist the skills need to be useful even when not an expert and not overlap too much.
Being just okay at unarmed, martial, and ranged combat seems inferior to focusing on just one or two of those. The same for different types of magic, being especially good at a single type could be much better than being mediocre at many types. The exception being utility type magics which can be very helpful to toss a point into.

>>47793604
Of course. I guess for CYOA I like to imagine it's real and just as I would "min max" in real life by focusing on a career or area of expertise I tend to do the same in CYOAs.

Transhumanist Robochick's build if given enough prep time, literally has no weaknesses. She can just engineer a machine body that directly hard counters most of her problems.

The only thing she has to watch out for is anyone wielding inratium forged weaponry. And even then given enough time she could probably engineer a conventional machine body that doesn't use any magic whatsoever.

Zerker X 3

Antimagic x3

What won't be stopped if you're strong enough? Your body! It's the case that protects your mind and those around you! What gives you the best physical training? The classes I took, ' cause the others are just screwing around wasting time.

You can always get gains on your own. Maneuvers teaches you things beyond that, and the other classes boost my abilities to the max.

For companions, I could have taken classes to lead easier, but I'm still gonna lead, dang it. And we're gonna work some crazy keikaku like I went to Ej Har or somethin'.

Divine powered girl to get blessed so I can go Super Saiyan God Berserk Mode. Beastmaster Bro for more allies and resources. Infiltration girl for stealing blueprints and magic technique transcripts and give them to Bathsheba so she can learn to smith divine magitech and secretly teach Uz students magic. I'll probably also take potions so I can permanently polymorph into the strongest race available.

For the other stuff, I'm not exactly sure what to pick except for ghost waifu since her hiding on my body could get me ghost powers or something. Either way, me and my four Generals are gonna have adventures to the max.

Jotham Riviero is the last member of House Riviero. Centuries ago, RIviero was a great house, until its members rose up against the Highkings and attempted to perform a coup d'etat, but were easily defeated. House Riviero was thrown out onto the streets and became peasants. Generation after generation passed, and the noble Rivieros shifted from a house into something else entirely. They became the mob. The family gained power over the generations until all of the great cities were partially under their control, and the heads of the family planned to incite a worker's revolution to overthrow the Highkings and take the throne.

I took ki. I basically have something more versatile and stronger than a gun until I adapt to fighting up close. Anger can probably boost Ki, ' cause there's not another way to explain SSJ2 hurting Beerus at all. Maneuvers lets me be fast and aware. I don't need to punch to win. I want to learn that, but it's not going to be how I start out. I have ranged fighting only at first.
>>
>>47794746
Berzerker just means getting really fucking angry and using that anger to fight better. Hit harder, shrug off blows, etc.
It's not a proper fighting style.
>>

>I think berserking is a martail art class.
Nope

>Through this course a student will learn how to tap into their most primal of emotions and become both a hurricane and a tornado on the battlefield.

Never even implies that it teaches you how to fight. Just that it will teach you to go berserk. Without the skill to back it up, you'll essentially just be throwing a powerful temper tantrum when you berserk. In other words, not difficult for someone with skills and suitable powers to out you down.

>>47794806
And so this is assuming that you can just ki blast all of you're problems away. Also not taking into account that blasting pure energy out you're body is probably too taxing to just do over and over, not to mention how dumb it is to build a fighter who has no close range capability. Ki doesn't solve all you're problems, it supplements you're physical skill. But you have none

Refute: Where you see limitation I see limitless potential. When we are born, we have no control over the natural and random parameters that dictate who we are and what we would become. By transcending flesh completely, I have acquired the power of choice and freedom to be whatever I want to be. I can wear as many machined bodies as I so desire or even wear all of them at once with the properly network matrix set-up if I so choose. And the machined bodies themselves can be any possible design I can possibly imagine within boundaries of magitechnological feasibility.

I chose to wear a feminine human bodies as it appears those garner the most positive responses from my fellow peers and superiors, according to my data.

Here's how I'd make a character for the same purpose.

>Antimagic x2

My character (>>47791086) is very similar to yours in the sense that both of them have plenty of supplementary skills and no real fighting skills. The difference is that for me, combat isn't a focus, it's something I'd actively avoid. You, however, are a frontline fighter. You have a lot of destructive potential and great defenses, but anyone even remotely competent at fighting would completely destroy you in 1v1 combat.

Eventually, after an incident involving an elder dragon, Jotham became the last surviving member of the family at the age of 14. Jotham was not used to being in a position of power in the family. He had spent the last few years practicing small illusions and gambling until sunrise. Jotham served as head for two years, and after a failed execution attempt by a small time criminal organization at the age of 16 he decided to use the family's money and his earnings from gambling to enter the great school Luniester.

While at Luniester, Jotham studied dueling and illusion magic, as well as diplomacy to become a better family head. He created a unique fighting style, whereas instead of using offensive magiks to fight like most students, he fought duels with a saber and used his powerful illusory techniques to trick the opponent and land a winning blow. Jotham also spent a semester at the school of Uzuza and took a mage hunting class to better prepare himself to fight against his classmates. Jotham became good friends with the schools info broker Mecherath and Suzette Highking, as well as a sparring partner of Eydal Northbreed. He grew to become one of the leading experts on illusory magic, and in his 5th year created a technique to create trace amounts of tangible matter using illusory magic. The technique was promptly banned.

Jotham aspires to raise the Riviero family back to noble status with the help of his friend Suzette. Jotham also offers criminal services (not murder) to both students and teachers/headmasters/the board however he hides behind advanced illusions to make sure no one knows it is him. to this day only Mecherath knows, but that is to be expected.

>>
>>47794832
You need mana for magic. Eventually you're going to run out. Magic doesn't solve your problems, it supports skill.

Same stupid argument. Ki is basically a limited natural magic that happens to be a separate energy. Go look through every ki based technique in things like Street Fighter and Dragon Ball. I won't start off the best in close range, but I dang well will have enough to push people away.

>>47794837
Besides, this is what you begin with, not what you're stuck with. How did the people who made fighting styles learn to fight anyways? It can be developed without a class. It takes time, but you can do it.

>>47794992
Yeah, those are pretty good.
You should probably get at least some kind of physical combat on your St. Flares build, though.
>>
>>47795035
To be a mage hunter is to despise mages and want to slaughter all of them. That is the culture of Uzuza and the lessons of the mage hunters. You are a traitor.

>>47795049

>>
>>47795060
>You won't reach peak condition in a single semester

>>
>>47795062
Nothing in mage hunting says you hate or have to kill mages. It just trains you to fight them
>>
>>47794774
Haven't seen many builds like this. I like the musketeer vibes, and illusions and dueling seems like a lethal combination.
>>
>>47795077
Because of the hatred and suspicion of Uzuza that drives them to kill mages. It's an innate aspect of the school.
>>
>>47795076
By that logic, Physical Fitness and Maneuvers are both completely pointless past the first rank.
>>
>>47795104
Yep.
>>
>>47795092
They're not driven to kill mages, just distrust them.
>>
>>47795118
But if they don't trust you, they're gonna shoot you.
>>
>>47795060
The idea is that all the physical and ki training is to help survive the enemy monster attacks, allowing me to mimic them with blue magic. Claws, acid, dragonbreath, etc, should be plenty of offensive firepower.
>>
>>47795118
They hate, fear, and mistrust them with all of their hearts. Of course they would kill all mages if they had a chance, they just need the slightest motivation.
>>
>>47794837
Maximum level of Ki training would make it so I can at least use ki in a useful manner. It's not a dip. Fully invested.

>>47794940
Who said I have to go frontlines all the time? I have speed to get away, ki for buffs and ranged attacks and pushing people away and berserk just is another poweup so I can run and shoot faste and harder. If I am in an engagement before I develop good close range technique I rely on those things.

The plan is not to forever be without skill. It's to get what is hard to figure out on your own preinstalled and learn the rest from stealing the information and developing on my own time rather than class time.

I will get jacked. By working out on my own. I will learn to fight. Through sparring and also getting Infiltrator and Golem to teach me the spells to just download the information from someone else's mind.
>>
>>47795117
I completely disagree with that logic. Unless you're willing to spend absurd amounts of time extra training, you wouldn't be able to grow significantly stronger, just keep your level of fitness as it currently is.
That's how I interpret it, anyway.
>>
>>47795132

Why would this be banned? Its not like using magic to create matter is something legendary. Elemental magic can probably do that, Arcana magic can certainly do it considering the description mentions "arcana cores" being "crystallized mana". What makes your illusion spell so super special that it has to be banned?
>>
>>47795338
Well, it takes enough energy from the caster to almost kill him, illusion magic is already riding the line between legal and illegal, and the matter it creates is similar to nothing ever seen before, so it could be volatile. Also it's not really useful at all.

Centre of the Earth

We needed a compact airship to explore the mysterious hole in Iceland so I was contracted to design and captain the USSS Sinking Feeling. I chose to focus on defensive measures, considering that we don't have any idea what threats might lurk below the surface of the earth. The ship's extremely high speeds and armored cells are backed up by the advanced Force Field generator that by itself uses up the vast majority of our electricity production.

While some do criticize the ships's wasteful excess of spare lifting capacity, in truth this is merely the maiden voyage of what I hope to be a long-lived and much further upgraded vessel. With the success of our mission and the further financial backing I'm sure that will secure I plan to outfit the entire ship with improved bulkheads and seals, allowing me to take her high up in the atmosphere; in stark contrast to her mission underground.

While certainly not boasting the greatest firepower in the skies, not by a long shot, what weapons we have on board serve a further defensive purpose. Anything that can catch us at top speed and can't be repelled by our guns, well, I wouldn't want to meet them anyways!

No. Honestly the only reason I took 5 companions in the first place is because that was the number. There was only one shitposter who was having a fuss over the old version.
>>
>>47796083
I like the rewording. It's a bit strong, but I think that's needed to make it clear that you're not gonna be cheating the system by "making friends normally" (even if you might be able to make a few, just not as much as those without the drawback). But the random element is just unneeded.

Blue magic 3x, druidism 3x, monster hunting 3x, knowledge (monster biology), magic refinement 2x.

Kit, Chandara, Evergreen
1st year: great hunt
2nd year: great hunt
3rd year: great hunt
4th year: great hunt
5th year: great hunt, escort, security, bodyguard

Cultural club (literature club), Educational club (Monster research club)
Exchange program 2x

Sigurd family got killed in a monster attack when he was still a child, this originally left him with an intense hatred towards all monster. This hatred eventually died down as a wandering druid taught him that monsters are just another part of nature and to let his hatred go. Now he’s on a quest to learn as much as he can about monster for UNDERSTANDING.

His fighting style revolves around combining multiple different monster abilities to create unique effects. This requires a large amount of magical control and concentration which is why the magic refinement course is pretty important.

As he learns more about monsters and nature he’s slowly shifting his body into a monster human hybrid form, he gains things like retractable claws, a tail, a third monster eye with heath vision or something fancy like that, maybe wings eventually. This is actually something that’s happening unconscious, because of all his study into monster biology, but even after he notices he doesn’t really mind.

His hobby is reading amateur fiction novel and watching plays by new performers and authors.

good heavens no.
and they all seem to have it so overall you still profit coming out the other end, rather than meeting some sort of balance halfway.
>>47796118
The ones that give things from other schools would work better as access granters, not point givers, only granting the takers of them the ability to choose a specific something from foreign school. Gaining access to a class or person from a foreign school is plenty reward enough for the sacrifices you make to get there, and in regards to exchange program specifically you could counteract any weakness you see in not gaining points by having that one class they have access to have no point restrictions like the current exchange does. More variety in build, less overall power, more obviously a drawback while still being something builders will desire.

Exchange Program

A fairly average young man from a decent household, Lain decided to learn the arts of an assassin, not out of some twisted desire for forbidden power, but because it legitimately seemed like the most effective way of causing change in society. He spent his first two years engulfed in study, and his third year learning how to create explosions at Odesium. After his return to the Ej Har Institue, Lain decided to join both the Disciplinary Squad and the Student Government, wanting to ensure that his juniors have a pleasant stay at their school.
He's generally relaxed and easy to approach, but can be annoying to be around due to his odd brand of humor.
He keeps his otherwise blonde hair dyed black, and he has small cuts all around his body that never seem to heal.

>>47796066
I'm not a big a fan of how it removes the option to be studious and instead makes your character a prodigy.
I really liked the idea of my character not being able to form meaningful relationships because he was so absorbed in his studies. This version kinda removes that option.

Also, it should be "+2 classes", not "+2 class".
>>
>>47796307
I think it can be fluffed as your character turns down social invitations to go study, making you less popular. It keeps with the theme of the new text while staying close to the original version. The new drawback offers more options to people who want more classes but don't want their characters to be studious.
I liked the old one, but I can tolerate the new one.

Changed my build, got rid of Lizardbro because Johan had no reason to know him and took exchange student a second time, which I used to get Mage hunter II

-Dueling III
-Maneuvers I
>Companions:
-Mecherath (Jotham frequently purchases information from her, enough so that she gives him a discount.)
-Suzette Highking (Suzette wishes to help the poor of the city, and the peasants seem to respect Jotham more than other nobles, but she doesn't quite know why... Come to think of it she's never heard of his family name either.)
-Eydal Northbreed (Eydal and Jotham are sparring partners. Eydal always wins, but Jotham seems to be holding back)
>Events:
-Battle Royal 1v1 all 5 years
-Basilisk Den all 5 years
-Research Proposal 5th year (After 5 years of on again off again research, Jotham has discovered a way to make non-dispersing physical matter that can be touched using illusory magic. The method can only make small amounts, and it expends massive amounts of energy, but the benefits could be colossal. Also, the matter seems to be unlike anything seen before...)

>made it easier to apply yourself to your studies
It works fine. You can say that you have a natural aptitude, but as written, it's easy to read it as saying you're the studious type.
>>
>>47796278
A couple threads ago I saw an idea that drawbacks should, instead of costing things, prohibit specific courses and characters.
What do you think of that idea? Add a wide variety of drawbacks that give benefits while alienating a wide array of potential benefits without dipping into or adding to the choicepool?
>>
>>47796305
I've made a few test builds but none that I would call my main build.

As for schools I think they're all pretty great, I tried to write them all as places I would actually like to go to so its really hard for me to pick just one.

Classes are kinda weird, if you put a gun to my head I guess I would say Bardic Arts just because I like playing bards in tabletops

Trap-Catcher is my favorite. Accept for his race he's a 1:1 clone of one the characters my best friend made more a DnD game I once ran.
>>
>>47796355
Not when it's straight up called "Hated Prodigy".
Really, if the name was just changed slightly, that'd be fine with me. The flavor text isn't a problem, and even as it is it still fits my character just fine.

>>47796342
Yeah, I can see what you mean.
>>
>>47796278
Gonna see if I get the same amount of crap now that my build is updated.

Ki X 3

Maneuvers X 3

Zerker X 3

Antimagic X 3.

Still undecided on other activities but at least I know what clubs to take.

Culture Club: Fight club (There, now I have some training tied to a tangible choice I can do). I will also go for a traditional booksmarts club (Educational ) because despite being Uzuza I do not enjoy being dumb.
>>
>>47796383
Does Trap-Catcher often get made fun of because of his name?
Can my character make fun of him because of his name?
>>
Anyone have the Slave CYOA?

>>47796403
Crap, forgot to post companions.
Still have the same plan of infiltration and blessing and beast taming and Bathsheba learning.

Thank you.
>>
>>47796370
Not a fan, I can see the appeal (and in the case of Uz use it to some degree) but personally I really hate the degree of limiting players in that way

idk Maybe its the Hero system in me but I'm much more in the camp of trade/take x so you can get y. I think it gives the players more freedom.

>>47796409
No most people are too terrified of him to make fun of him, he would probably think its a joke or something and laugh it off or give a counter banter.

We've been here too long.

>>47796461
Nice, he seems like a great guy.
>>
>>47796461
not that guy, but I think "Trade x to get unlimited access to y but no extra points" is better balanced than "trade x to get a set number of free points for y"
>>
>>47796007
So can I go to St. Flares then become a master of Ki Atunnement if I pick Exchange Program or do I only get beginner level class knowledge? Basically what I'm asking is does Exchange Program only give you 1 foreign class "point" or the option to pick any 1 foreign class and spend as many "points" as you want.
>>
>>47793932
Does this look all right btw? Should I bump up explosives and drop something?
>>
>>47796520
Former
>>
>>47796528
Any reason you only took 4 companions instead if 5?
>>
>>47794389
So basically Ouroboros makes you Deadpool.

That's real neato.
>>
>>47796528
Since you took only 4 companions, you could take bookworm or exchange student once.
>>
>>47796529
If that's true that kind sucks. Only beginner level knowledge doesn't feel worth it to me.
>>
>>47796627
Nothing's stopping you from taking it multiple times, though.
>>
>>47796627
Well, you can take it twice if you're willing to lose two companions, or even 3 times.
>>
>>47796680
only up to twice, though
Something I'm hoping will change, for all our sakes, not just his
>>47796688
you cannot take it three times IIRC, you can only take 2 drawbacks so no matter what you'll never reach 3 as it currently is
>>
>>47796710
Oh, I didn't know that

>All that power at the cost of being a forever alone adventurer

Would it really be that OP if it worked the other way? I mean it would still cost normal class points so it's not like you could learn too much crazy shit
>>
Where can I find the rest of the newest version of My Hero Acadamia--I mean Hero Academy
>>
>>47796727
yep
really like it to change to access granting rather than point giving, so that building can be freely done without making builds strictly superior to others, but Box seems to just flat up not like the idea, so I don't think it'll ever work out that way.
>>
>>47796577
>>47796601
!!! I just realized this. Companions should say:

Znanje
Chandara
Kengen
Duxix
Tarkun Ironstout
>>
>>47796740
They still cost points? I thought it was bonus classes?
>>
>>47796710
I think the idea is that if you want to be the very best at a school's specialty magic, you should probably be going to that school.
>>
>>47796800
You get a bonus point to invest in a class from a different school. Anonymous wants it to be changed so that you unlock the the class for normal point investment.
>>
>>47796800
>>47796818
Exactly.

I doubt Box Wine will change anything because of 1 Anon. so what do you guys think?
>>
>>47796753
It's a work in progress concerning updates right now, but Everyone's using this one:
>>47787617
>>
>>47796803
I dunno man, while that is fair in terms of flavor, balance wise it seems more obvious one should be given wider selection to choose from for a sacrifice rather than more power over your peers. If something comes out that explicitly states the value of companions over personal power, some of my attitudes might change, but so far, whatever companions can offer isn't guaranteed where free power points for yourself is with drawbacks.
>>
>>47796849
I think it makes more sense as it is.
>>
>>47796849
I like it the way it is now. It makes more sense with the "exchange student" fluff
>>
>>47796849
Makes sense to me. Taking same class from a different school seems odd.

Schoo St. Flares
Classes:
potion 1
Arcane Magic 3
Summoning Magic 3
Blue Magic 3
Magic Refinement 2

Drawbacks
Exchange Program: 2
Clubs: cooking sporadical
Companions: Eloise, Evergreen and Bathsheba
Events: The great hunt (years 3,4 and 5), Research proposal (Year 4), Bodyguard (year 5)

Entering Javier Smith, the eldest son of a Blacksmith from an uneventful town, a young man quite unremarkable, with a dream fully understand magic both human, and inhuman, for that motive he will do his best to learn everything that he can from the master in st. flares and Lunestier.
Javier would use a combination of arcane magic and blue magic for the combat using his summon as both allies and teachers (through blue magic he will copy the powers of the summons that are too hard to keep summoned), and using both refinement and potions to keep his style efficient and manageable.
His will make friends with Eloise Since both would posses powers and knowledge that the other lack, complementing their investigations (plot point for the research proposal), evergreen as a magical creature and an arcane user would be perfect to train his style of magic, Finally Bathsheba is the heart of the team, helping as the muscle, but also since both Eloise and evergreen has some unsavory traits (the former is kinda yandere, and the later is a literal mania pixie dream girl) , Javier would direct those traits toward the Bethsheba, could use the attention (evergreen would help her to develop emotion, and Eloise could help to understand what is an human), that way i have a trio of great allies, endearing friends and a slightly lesbian sitcom at my disposal

I'll give you a tip for the future you can take advantage of. In the Pastebin, there's a Google Drive link that says "OC By Month". You can find stuff there. It's not perfect, and it likely won't ever be, but I have a lot of respect for the person running it.
>>
>>47796888
I like it, good combination of Blue Magic and Summoning.

St. Flares has the Blue Mage Summoner
Lunestier has the Tactician Summoner
Odesium has the Mecha Summoner

I think Ej Har had a summoner build a few pages back? And Uz can't use magic, aside from Fist Summoner.

question Uzuza alums can use exchange program to learn the not specialized magic (for example elemental or illusory magic)?
