The event where that pic is taken from, a pyrrhic victory by the Lamenters chapter.

Check the Lamenters, Raptors, Doom Eagle entries on 1d4chan. Also the Crimson Fist chapter had an arguably Black X (friendly fire) incident in their homeworld, but it provided them some character development. Check it out, cool read IMO.

To the elves in that picture, dwarves were literally another variety of elf. The fact that they hated the fundamental nature of the universe so much that they killed themselves, fused their souls together, and used them to give life and immense power to a giant robot in an attempt to create a being that wasnt bound by the limitations of their universe is mostly irrelevant

Does your party have a leader? Are they explicitly in charge or is it informed authority? Did it emerge organically or through artifice?

How do you feel about games where on PC is in charge, maybe even more powerful?

In two of my groups, i tended to be the leader

In one i was the paladin, and basically pleaded with the others to do things "the right way" and they obliged, mostly because my decisions always proved successful so far.

In another, while not the real leader, my Dwarf is basically the glue that keeps the party together because he bonded with them on a personal level, giving each of them a reason not to go too far from him.

On others, we usually don't have a leader, but generally the guy who is best suited for a situation usually takes charge.

No power difference in the party. They should be a group of friends adventuring together, not a hierarchy
>>
Surprisingly, our leader two games ago was the taciturn, sarcastic elf.
>>
>>49667379
We had a guy LARPing as an evil overlord in an actual evil party. Our characters decided to just go with it and named him a leader as a joke.

hey /tg/ I want to ask you guys a question.
I've been thinking of opening up a writing commission business to earn a little extra money.
one of the ideas for services I would offer would be writing the backstory of a PC or NPC for 5 dollars per 500 words.
seeing as you guys are my most likely customers I figured it would be a good idea to ask you guys if that's a fair price and if not, what would be a better price?

and just so this thread is a bit more /TG/ related, have you guys ever written a backstory for a friend's character or had someone write your characters backstory for you?

Losing traction at all 3 of my FLGSs which is sad. Anyone see Frostgrave growing beyond it's initial bubble in their town?

I want to start promoting it in my town and set up a few demo games but seeing the traffic in this thread I don't expect much.
>>
>>49665644
I got the impression that it suffers from having balance issues and being too wizard focused. They're the leaders of your warband, sure, but there's absolutely no love for the their allies. Aside from a single captain, if you've got that expansion, they're all set dressing.

>>
I've played Black Plague solo and enjoyed it. Not as fun as playing with your buddies, of course.

A question for other anons: scenarios that it says should take an hour and a half seem to take my friends and I much, much longer. Are we really slow or are the times it gives very short?
>>
>>49665246
Played season 1, base game, also tried an expansion or two, the one with dogs, for sure.

Solo play is good but can be dragging, having to move 3-4 characters around (can also be a bit boring/schizoprenic, having just yourself to talk to)

Gaming with a group is more fun, though in my experience, do it with friends (more fun/immersive) and a sort of command structure forms. Tried playing it with a full complement of smar/tg/uys and boy it took us til sun up to finish the frickin' tutorial mission. Every possible decision being examined for optimal choice, so a typical turn lasted about 30-40mins at least. Seriously.

I would I'm the past also think it would be impossible but considering how much GW are whoring out their IP to vidya producers perhaps it could happen.

The priest played a cleric, the rabbi a rogue and the imam played an alchemist.

Played once with a priest that ran the church my DM went to since the DM won some sort of charity raffle thing.

The priest played a cleric devoted to good and helped us fight mutant werewolves. Other than him wearing his uniform there actually wasn't much religion involved at all. Was a pretty nice dude overall.

> "Malcanthet lives on the 570th layer of the Abyss, a layer called Shendilavri. It is of unmatched beauty, surpassing even some of the heavens as a paradise. Here she lives in the city of Rivenheart, where all desires can be sated. Every imaginable perversion, debauchery and experience can be found here. Malcanthet's palace has no doors, and all are invited to enter and experience what lies within its forbidden halls. While thousands of people from all over the planes enter to find bliss within, few leave, and all ultimately realize that Shendilavri is a paradise only for Malcanthet herself."

>make a system for an existing fictional universe (Metroid in partiicular)
>want to do a lot more with the core system but the setting is restricting me
>forced to bud the system off for more freedom
>can't decide on a name

I'm reaching out to /tg/ for help naming my system. What's a good name for a sci-fi system? The system will focuses on exploration, completing missions, and otherwise colonizing an alien world and interacting with new alien species.

A lot of tones and styles are lifted from Metroid (duh) with heavy influences from Xenoblade Chronicles X but toned back a bit in terms of technology. Mecha called Armored Frames are being implemented on a scale similar to Lost Planet and the tyrant system from XCX also makes an appearance under the name of Aberrants.

My main concern is not using a name that is already taken, yet kind of captures the feel of exploration and discovery.

tl;dr: Help me name a sci-fi homebrew system?
