What system has the best mechanics for Kingdom building? My guys want to get some crunchy rules for it, and I don't feel like making my own.
pic related; it's the barony they just "inherited"
I would love this shit.

Darkest Dungeon raiding time!
Welcome to Atlantasia, a weird and wonderful world where level 1 characters with whips have a 35% chance to slip and kill themselves whenever they miss, where there's more kinds of Elf than any other race, where Gnomes are Turbo-Kender, where combat turns last seven minutes and where the most common cause of death is horny dragons.
This thread is an attempt to actually try to make and play characters in one of the truly great bad RPGs out there, Realms of Atlantasia, a game that has 550 pages of pure bullshit with no registry nor table of contents.
Inspired by old Fecht threads, particularly FATAL Fecht threads, where we'd pit two characters against each other in a fight to the death, my goal is for you guys to pick, roll and fluff out a total of eight fighters (if we get that far), in a grand tourney to the death. Since this is a honourable test of martial strength we will not be rolling any spellcasters this time around.Maybe later.
>TL;DR: We make incompetent characters in a shit system and have them fight for our amusement
Rolled 3, 6, 7, 9, 2, 8, 8, 5, 9, 7, 7, 7, 8, 4, 2 = 92 (15d10)
>>50512930
Since we're not insane, we'll not be making all eight character at once. We'll start by making our first pair of fighters, and then have them fight.
I'll also mention that I've made two important houserules to the game.
First of all, since chargen in this thing is lengthy and horrible, I've removed everything that doesn't have to do with combat. Seriously, the original character sheet is nine pages including spells.
Secondly, I've made some changes to the way you roll for cash, since the original way to do this is actually completely unusable.
Fighters from all over Atlantasia have come to Baba-Luna to participate in the Grand Tourney, all eager to win the fame, glory and gold awarded to a champion. Who will be our first warrior?
>Pick race, roll 4d100
Your choices are Human, Elf, Dwarf and Gnome. The first roll determines your Social Class, the second determines if you're ambidextrous, the third and forth determined handed weapon proficiency.
Rolled 58, 34, 36, 97 = 225 (4d100)
>>50513015
Dwarf.
The opponent better be a knifeear.
>>50513015
Forgot to mention what that first roll was for.
I'm rolling three times 5d10 (so 15d10) to get us started by generating base attributes. You roll a d10 three times for each skill, and keep the highest.
We rolled Strength 7, Constitution 9, Dexterity 9, Agility 7, and Mental Quickness 8.
That's pretty respectable for a level 1 character. It's fully possible in this game to roll much worse. In one of my test characters I rolled a Elf that had a 11% chance to hit with an attack, and that was too weak to use any good weapons or wear any good armour. There is no fucking balance.
>>50513113
Our first fighter is a Middle Class Dwarf, he's not ambidextrous, is 36% weapon proficient with his left hand and 97% weapons proficient with his right hand. That's pretty good.
>Pick class, roll 6d100
Your options are: Warrior, Bard, Spy, Assassin.
Which ship has the highest loyalty to their organisation?
The ship or the crew of the ship?
does the federation even have rebels? I can't into star trek.
Are you posting this again hoping someone will post the screencap again?
I'm making a setting that has human friendly gods and demigods vs gods/demigods that want man groveling. Could some one provide me with some examples.
Players will be descendents of demigods that fought for mankind
>>50512722
Not entirely what you're looking for, but the Illiad actively had gods siding with the Trojans or the Greeks. The Odyssey might be more your speed as it's Odysseus and a few supernatural creatures that favor him vs Poseidon, who pretty much wants to wreck Odysseus shit (hence why a journey that should've taken a few weeks tops ended up taking 10 years. Yeah, that's a spoiler).
Greek Pantheon. The catch is the gods change team more frequently than NBA players and you can never be sure who's standing on which side.
RPGs which are not D&D/pathfinder set in a medieval fantasy setting? Based more on free form storytelling than on tactical focused gameplay, please.

How would you portrait something like the Honourable East India Company in a fantasy setting?
>>50511973
Honourably.
>>50511973
Only if you're willing to be a tremendous faggot and include Always Evil races as indians.
Not that I care for indians, evil races are just shitty and lazy.
>>50511973
As the BBEG.
How fast does wraithbone regenerate?
How much of a difference does a bone singer actually make?
What makes you think Wraithbone regenerate?
Afaik it's a psycho-active crystal so I guess it is unorganic and does not regenerate.
>>50511937
Except self-repair has been a property of wraithbone for eons.
Wraithbone is grown and manipulated into desired shapes via psychic means. That's why DE do not use it, other than what they steal or trade from CWE.
>>50511884
>tfw Eldar will never get bonesinger techpriests to repair their vehicles
>>50511988
The question is how fast it regenerates though. Can eldar with battle damaged armour be a legit cosmetic choice or would it heal too quickly? I always assumed it was about as fast as real bone unless assisted by a bonesinger
Usually in 40k stories it goes like this
>Orks attack
>then the real villain (usually Chaos) comes to ruin the day
was there any instance where Imperium was fighting Chaos and Orks came afterwards in the least convenient moment?
>>50511560
Usually not. The only exception is with no third party and the Orks get their act together.
Id much prefer in your scenario while the Orks get beaten as usual, its found they were an overenthusiastic scout fleet of the main Waaagh and the actual warboss gives them the boost they need to be a genuine threat on his arrival.
>>50511560
Orks are chaff, this never happens because the only role Orks have is to make the Imperium look good and Chaos look dangerous. That's the net worth of the Orks.
So no, it never happened.
>>50511560
actually yes, in Salamanders the Salamanders are looking for a relic of Vulkan and find a garrison of Iron Warriors there, was they are winning a huge planetoid enters the planet's orbit carring a huge ork Waagh which makes things more difficult for them
Can you post dwarf clerics, sages and other castery dorfs?
This one isn't quite related but at least he's not your typical dorf
Not sure what this guy is
I've developed a bit of a nasty reputation in my hometown as being kind of a hardass DM. I guess it's true to an extent. My campaigns rule and I spent a lot of time working on them. I shouldn't have to put up with shitty applications and bad roleplayers. You can practice your improv on a module, sod off.
But now a few of the people who handed me said shitty applications are causing shit for me. It's becoming a bit tough to handle. They're scalping players off me and taking things I've said out of context. I've had one guy straight up rescind his application and tell me it's because he didn't wanna get cussed out. I ain't ever cussed nobody out. What the hell?
I need a PR makeover. How do I put a positive spin on demanding perfection?
>sod off.
>I ain't ever cussed nobody out.
Maybe a bit more self awareness would help?

Trips = overall campaign setting or plot armor for previously mentioned posts.
I'll start:

Children of a Dead Earth is as realistic as you're ever going to find, and is also pretty groggy.
Full n-body orbital simulation, 1:1 scale solar system, realistically modeled weapons systems.
The only problem is the AI is kind of stupid and one strategy beats everybody:
1. Match orbit in retrograde
2. Jizz missiles everywhere
3. Drop out of his orbit
The nukes maintain the orbit so when they reach him (AI rarely changes course to avoid missiles) they have full delta-v.
And since this is the real shit and not gay-ass fantasy bullshit there's no stealth or anything.
Albedo rpg.
Or Rogue Trader if you're fine with age of sail in space, but I doubt it.
