Are there any more Imperial Army new U or did they get rid of them all for Storm troopers?

In the old U Imperial army would be the main force fighting against the rebels because their was always a planet garrison while the storm troopers acted as marines/the guys you want to protect the important shit

I would say between Mass Effect (thinnest) and Starcraft (bulkiest)

I like variety. My favorite is Crysis power armor. I like the idea of looking down on all your troops, reviewing their stats. Infantry are small but plentiful, and power "density" climbs as you ascend vehicle tech, but everything is specialized. But then you get to the Super Trooper. The same size as a regular guy, but faster and stronger than any vehicle. I like the "density" of it.

Game will ship out in waves, starting in 2017, and ending in 2020. Each wave will have its own pledge manager, and you will pay shipping for it once they are ready to ship that wave.

Just increase the amount you are pledging by the cost of the add on. For example, if you are backing at the $50 level, and would like the First Hero expansion ($35), you would leave your pledge LEVEL the same, but change the pledge AMOUNT to $85.

>do I need both the core game and the update pack?
The Kickstarter is to fund a new edition of the game. If you get the game through the Kickstarter, it will have the update pack already included. If you already own the core game, you need to by the update pack to make everything compatible.

>do I need the update pack to use new expansions?
We don't know yet, but that may be the case. Either way, there are no levels you can back at that don't include either the update pack, or the updated core game, so any base pledge you get will be compatible with the new expansions either way.

A box that is basically a grab-bag of minis and variant rules. Adds classes and a new mechanic tied to a 5th player character. There is one additional major mechanic it adds that we haven't seen yet. The contents of the box are already decided, Poots is just revealing a random item from it each day. The rolls are not tied to the amount of money raised in any way.

Let's talk about the PC races in D&D and other fantasy RPGs.

So you've got your core fantasy races (aka the Big Three):

>humans
>elves
>dwarves

Pretty much every fantasy setting includes these three and often various subraces therein. Fair enough. Those are a given.

From there it gets a bit confusing and I'm curious to hear what /tg/ thinks.

In D&D 5e the core races also include:

>half-elves - for those indecisive people who can't choose between a human and an elf
>hob- I mean, halflings
>gnomes - which are basically the same as halflings, do we really need both? nobody plays either tbqh
>half-orcs - I guess we need one big ugly race
>tieflings - for the edgelords
>dragonborn - which IMO are just reatrded and pandering to people with dragon fetishes

Personally I really wish there was more diversity in the races. They all feel quite similar with 3 midget races, 2 big brutes and 4 in between. I would love for something like merfolk or rakshasas to be core races instead of shit like tieflings and dragonborn. Even goblins would make for more intersting PCs in my opinion.

What do you guys think? What races do you allow in your games? Feel free to share any cool homebrew races and tell us about your favourite race to play at the table. inb4 >male human fighter

If the racial choice matches up in the setting, and they clearly have a plan for the character that the race choice actually enhances, instead of replaces, then sure I'll allow it.

I think the standard fantasy races are fine, most everybody will know what a "Gnome" is thanks to our culture, so they have an idea of what to expect and how to design their character without having to research a bunch of setting specific information. Too many GMs think that "original" races make their setting interesting, in reality the setting is only as interesting as the players are willing to interact with it.

I can agree with that except for elves and dwarves. They're sufficiently distinct (not to mention iconic) to remain as is.

I'd get rid of halflings (blatant tolkien ripoff) and have half-orcs as the anti-hero/tough guy race.

What's a good word I can use to refer to all of the races in a setting as a group? Basically I'm looking for a way to describe the things that fall under D&D's "Humanoid" type without using a human-centric word. Twilight dragons are red/black hybrids, IIRC. I don't think making them was a simple as just putting a red and a black together and playing some porn music, though. There's some sort of old god alchemy corruption stuff or something in the mix too.

I also think there's a bit in Day of Dragon where Deathwing is represented with a desire to have Alexstrasza and Ysera as mates,, but I think that's more just him wanting deluxe red and green holsters for his lava dick, not because he wants kids out of them.

I wouldn't put it past red dragons to be able to magically hybridize with others, though. Life magic and all that, you know.

Here's the thing. It's not something Randall would feel the need to delete. He's fine with that position. It's illogical for him to have scrubbed it. Combine that with the fact that none of the 1-5 anons who claim they saw it screencapped it when they absolutely love posting that kind of stuff to prove their point(note I am not disagreeing with that point) just seems unlikely to me. Essentially you're making an assertion with no evidence.
