Nothing else like her anywhere you go
Man, she's anything but calm

How did you play your evil bard, any hillarious or memorable stories?
What kind of tips would you give to someone who hasn't played a bard before, what are some end goals you can give to an evil bard?
Anything evil bard related, feelfree to post.
An evil bard is just a dictator.
>>50498621
The secret to an evil bard is that tou don't have to be a murderer or a thief to be evil. If that's the best you can do with your bard your doing it wrong. An evil bard is self interested, and knows he can lead the sheep any which way he wants. An evil bard whips up mobs, and spreads slander. They control public opinion through the creation of ditties and tales that they then spread like a plague. Or if you wanna think small and petty they just seduce and fuck everyone else's bitches.

How often should PCs die?
>Playing a 5e group on R20
>we've had 1 tpk in the 2ND session which the DM avoided by having us captured
>1 not-quite-a-TPK-because-we-all-disengaged-and-ran-away in the fourth session.
>This feels like too many for me.
>When were getting absolutely pounded in the fourth one the DM decided to pile more mobs on us, and then said it was in the interests of "realism".
>We are going to die a LOT at this rate.
My view: DMs should try wherever possible to keep PCs alive even if it means fudging and secret roles, it's important that the party feel they are in genuine peril but games are a million times more fun if PCs have time to grow.
I highly doubt anyone is playing D&D for realism.
>>50495962
>5e
Is your GM out to get you?
I´m the GM for 5 players who don´t really give a fuck about efficiency. Everything I throw at them is at least what would be considered a dangerous or lethal challenge, or else they just get rid of it in a moment.
>>50495962
It is difficult to balance encounters, and much more difficult when you players are low lvl.
Depends on expectations and flavor of the game. Did you approach these situations idiotically? Then perhaps death is what you deserved.
Is the game supposed to have a more realistic flavor? Then running away should be a viable option, and not something to regret.
I don't know. It sounds like a lot, and I probably would have spared you extra mobs if you were already hard-pressed, but it's impossible to know these things for people who weren't there.
I'd advise you to have a frank conversation with your DM about expectations for the campaign. But don't be self-righteous about this.
Does anybody actually like AoS. I don't frequent /tg/ often enough to pick up the general tone that people have taken towards it and am curious. I used to play quite a bit of Warhammer Fantasy back in the "good" old days and while hadn't played in a few years by the time AoS dropped I heard about the changes they made to both the fluff and the rules and found myself repulsed. Is my disgust founded? Honestly not trying to start a flame war, just looking for some honest opinions.
>>50495177
since the Generals Handbook I'm liking it, after a good solid few months of thinking it was boiled dog shit.
I'd still have prefered a proper ninth edition with some sort of skirmish rules to curb the army size bloat. Perhaps something like kill team in 40k.
>>50495218
The Generals Handbook? Is that the book that added point values back to models?
>>50495231
It added points values to units, not individual models nor upgrades. Kind of a lazy patch job really.
Still, does provide the ballpark game sizes for this to function on a basic level as a pick up game rather than something heavily negotiated.
Story time /tg/!
Tonight's episode: The Legend of Koizumi, Chapters 16-20!

Kick Off! - Guild Ball 2 Player Starter Box Product Description
Coming November 2016!
In Kick Off!, two players take on the role of team coach for either the rowdy Brewers or the tactical Masons and play a match of Guild Ball, a bloody mob football game of intense action and high stakes.
As the coach, you’ll get to make strategic decisions and exciting plays to rack up victory points. Be the first team to score 12 points and victory is yours! Your players can win points by scoring goals or by sending the other team's players back to the bench. And as your players make plays on the field, they’ll generate a unique resource that will let your team play harder and bring the Guild Ball crowds roaring to their feet.
The Kick Off! starter set contains everything you need to play a match of Guild Ball, including 12 diverse character models, each full of personality with their own unique playstyle. The included tokens and health dials make it easy to track the effects of each character's plays as you combine their unique strengths to dominate the field.
Has anybody played this before? Weird that it comes out the same time as Blood Bowl
>>50493944
Just Fantasy sports board/minigame following the footsteps of Blood Bowl # 314, only this is somewhat decent in some aspets, I've heard. Even if it's a bit unbalanced atm.
Most people would choose a favorite faction in Warhammer 40k that more 'speaks' to them, (/r9k/ favoring necrons for example while say /s4s/ would favor chaos) so out of curiosity /tg/ what faction do you best relate with..?
Loud, goofy, big ass guns, lots of variety.
>>50490538
Iron Warriors. Perturabo is essentially /tg/ incarnate and for warrior lodges they had table top wargames.
>>50491291
Orks would obviously be /k/. They even have kommandos for crying out loud.
>>50491291
I briefly considered trying out 40k until I was told that I couldn't field a mixed army of orks and looted tyranids.
Beeple-beep beep! Do guardsman retire?
They just get promoted until they die.
The secret to 40k lore is that the answer is always the most Grimdark.
>>50488880
Even in death they still serve.
>>50488781
Soldier, you appear to have quite a severe mutation. Report to your commissar for retirement.

>Dicks Wearing Hats
The Count in question is a Soccer Hooligan Anime Girl.
Let's post ideas and suggestions and make this happen. Why don't we talk about the setting? What level of technology are we talking about?
Race, class and monster doodles will be extremely appreciated.
Last thread >>50472984
For technology, why not have it be at a vaguely late medieval/mid renaissance period, with some modern conveniences due to magitech, along with a few hyperadvanced futuristic relics scattered around in ruins and the laboratories of mad scientists?
Most monster tribes would be at the stone age level, but maybe a handful of monster kingdoms managed to develop bronze-age technology.
Preferred classes are:
Anime girls: semen demons
Sheeple: Wage slaves
Welsh: Soccer hooligans
Sea cucumber people: Aperture science test subjects
Respectable skeletons: bacon masters

Is there something unreasonable about that, or is it just too common for your tastes?
>>50469616
why the fuck would anyone worship the ELEMENTS? That's just the building blocks of stuff. If you give them personality then they are not elements any more, they are gods!
Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where space SWAT teams use big machetes and guns specifically designed to cause instant death, because fuck crime.

Slowly spreading the world of Allah , one color at a time. Its my first time working with the green pallet, also how do you do a camo patern on vehicles? Im guessing my TAG will be needing one.
Taskmaster is another of those models that I know are super useful units, but I just don't like the look of. Up there with Jaguars, Iguana and Auxilia. At least the latter will be easily proxied with Spec Sergeants when they come out.

> not playing a model based on looks
Here's some advice from my grandmother
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NF5XU-k2Vk
How do you make a truly tragic and sympathetic BBEG?
Make the players evil.
>>50458253
Sympathy is usually derived from those who could relate. So find something tragic that normal people; especially heroes could relate too.
Take Mr.Freeze from DC for example. He's trying to bring back his wife, by anyway necessary. Everyone has lost a loved one, some more than others.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EtHfr0eBA4
>>50458253
I don't think you know what a BBEG is, because a tragic and sympathetic one works against the core of the concept.
A sympathetic villain is one thing, but you undermine a setting if pull the rug out from a BBEG.

Dubious Challenge. It's just such a "brew me, fuckface" kind of card. I can't resist.
>>Does you LGS host the Standard Showdown?
Yep, didn't get the chance to go last weekend though.
Is it worth it to play Jund Delirium or is the BG version strictly better with its consistency?
>>50452770
>What are you playing?
Nothing, format is dead at all 3 of my shops near me
>What are you brewing?
No point in brewing, brews in standard right now are just shitty synergies with samewalkers and smegma copters strapped on.
>Does you LGS host the Standard Showdown?
Still couldn't get enough people at all 3 shops, I called in to each one.
>>How do you feel playing the most cucked format in Magic?
There is some fun to be had playing less powerful cards versus other less powerful cards, but I just wish the power level was a bit higher. Things like mana leak and lightning strike should always be available at common, they're now pushing this sort of thing to the uncommon slot. It's unacceptable.

1980 – Iran–Iraq War: Operation Morvarid: The bulk of the Iraqi Navy is destroyed by the Iranian Navy in the Persian Gulf. (Commemorated in Iran as Navy Day.)
It is 117 years since the Battle of Modder River (known in Afrikaans as Slag van die Twee Riviere), an engagement in the Second Boer War of 1899-1902. A British column under Lord Methuen, which was attempting to relieve the besieged town of Kimberley, forced Boers under General Piet Cronje to retreat to Magersfontein; but suffered heavy casualties themselves. It was a rough introduction for British forces to the new style of warfare on the veldt.
When the war broke out the previous month, one of the Boers' early targets was the diamond-mining centre of Kimberley, which stood not far from where the borders of the Boer Republics and the British-controlled Cape Colony met. Although their forces surrounded the town, they did not press home any immediate assault, nor did they attempt to invade Cape Colony.
Meanwhile, British reinforcements were on their way to South Africa. Their commander, General Sir Redvers Buller detached the 1st Division under Lieutenant General Lord Methuen to relieve the Siege of Kimberley. This decision was made partly for reasons of prestige, as the capture of Kimberley would be a major propaganda victory for the British. Methuen's force advanced north along the Western Cape Railway.
The Boers had been reinforced by a contingent from the Transvaal under General Koos de la Rey, who proposed a radical new plan of defence. He pointed out that the Boers had previously been easily driven from the kopjes (hills) which they had occupied. The kopjes had been obvious aiming marks for the numerically superior British artillery. Also, the trajectory of rifle fire from Boers on the top of the kopjes was steeply plunging. It therefore had a chance of hitting its target only in the last six feet or so of its flight. Once British infantry had reached the foot of the kopje, they were concealed by boulders and scrub, and could then easily drive the Boers off the summit with the bayonet.
