Whatever you say loyalist.
I'm GM-ing a pretty stereotypical zombie apocalypse game, but I've run into a few hurdles I'm having trouble overcoming:
1. Party size: Given the circumstances, the groups response to any NPC is basically to recruit them to the party. It's not a problem yet but at a certain point there's going to be an unwieldy number of NPCs traveling with the party. It seems a little too deus ex machina to start killing them willy-nilly without giving them a chance to roll. The party definitely needs a reason to voluntarily separate from some people.
2. Goals. Up to this point, we've survived on, well, surviving -running around trying to secure food, safety, weapons, etc. Well now my PCs kind of have all those things, so there's a tremendous sense of "now what?"
go walking dead mode, if they recruit too many people, then either kill off the ones no one likes, or have someone say that "a host this size can go nowhere in secret"
>>50525263
Give them a reason to establish a base of operations, small enough to meed constant guard and vigiliance under threat.
That solves both problems. The NPCs are siphoned off into base duties, and building the settlement becomes the main goal.
>>50525475
I'm not sure I follow. They've established their base, and that's really what's caused both problems: they're comfy and safe now. "Base duties" really just consist of keeping watch for anything dangerous while the players can just kind of sit around and do nothing.
>The princess is actually a practiced druid.
And no one knows except for your party just now, how does your campaign change?
>>50524374
like Tyrande said, our relationship is based on one simple rule. "no shapeshifting".
>>50524387
Legitimately the funniest thing ive read all day. Thank you.
>>50524374
Great, she's actually useful for something - maybe we won't guillotine her after all.
I've never played changeling, but I have been invited recently to a Changeling: The Lost session.
What should I expect?
>>50524044
I think CtL is an amazing game, but it's very hard to run. Are you familiar with the group you're joining?
>>50524044
I'm really biaised about this because I'm a Changeling GM... But hey, it's just a great game.
It has a richness of lore and possibilities of interpretation and creation that I just love. Even though it's better to use the new character creation that Onyx Path uploaded on their site.
It's balanced better.
>>50524252
Yes, they're cool.
It's my D&D party, we got one minmaxer and a couple of good RP'ers. A far as I know WoD, it will be good, I just don't know anything about changeling.
I have this recurrent NPC in my campaings, a dark and mysterious traveling merchant that usually have 4 or 5 good magic itens that may help the party, to avoid them going to the city and order their custom made weapons and armors like they have a catalog available.
I want to make him appear more, with some itens that may or may not help, only to slow the game a bit and see the players spending time with different equipment. Any ideas for those items?
inb4 they kill the merchant and get the goods
He's a death slaad, so they know he's not one to be messed with.
>>50523840
Even though I didn't agree as a player, once I started to GM, I found the concept of being able to purchase magic items cheapened their impressiveness.
I have nothing else to contribute but a bump.
>>50523840
>Any ideas for those items?
RARE ENCHANTED CAMELS! THE GIFT THAT IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED! ONLY SLIGHTLY USED!
>>50523840
The only recurring merchant in my campaign is a slippery high elf with dubious methods of acquiring his goods and has been secretly shipping stuff for the BBEG under pain of death.
He's gonna beg like a bitch for his life if the party ever finds out.
Gates to a parallel world are discovered around the world in the USA, Russia, Israel, China, Pakistan, India, France, and Australia.
They all open in rural out of the way areas. None of the denizens on the other side seem to be emerging, but the few people who go in and come back out report a realm of limitless passages, traps, and weird phenomenon. Some have emerged with wondrous, physics defying artifacts. Others have come out rambling about kobolds, goblins, and other such nonsense.
It's been a few weeks after their initial discovery and the world is going crazy. Teams are being set up to map, explore, and plunder this new world.
What are some of the things these teams would find?

>>50523818
Why none in South America, Africa or Antarctica? Mathematically speaking, that's about half the land on Earth.
>>50523818
Sounds like a good excuse to lift tons of stuff from the SCP foundation and have your hapless death row convi- I mean, modern adventurers die in droves recovering them.
Has anyone used warpcards.com? Are they reliable?
>>50523672
Too small for anyone to have used? They have cheap prices on stuff I want to pick up so I was curious but if they're a total nobody I won't order then.
>>50523672
Holy shit does that site looks unreliable and bad.
>>50524039
So, is the visual badness bad enough that I should skip out on the $25 Liliana, the Last Hope?
>D&D 5e
>Roll under your ability score for all checks
>add proficiency bonus to ability score for things you're proficient in (e.g. Dex14+ Stealth prof at 2nd level=Stealth 16)
>add penalties for circumstance (calculated by 10-DC; DC 25 check becomes a minus 15)
>no classes, all class features can be purchased using experience
Would anyone play this?
Doesn't sound too bad, but I'm neither a mathematician or a gae designer.
Wouldn't that force everyone to be casters as casting is a faster way than doing things manually?
What HD do characters start out with?
>>50523236

What is the point? This doesn't really change the math, it just disconnects ability checks from the system where all resolution is rolling at or over given DCs.
>>50523236
I'm pretty sure this was done by old school d&d. Doesn't sound bad to me.
Pathfinder General /pfg/: Druids edition.
Do you play druids often? Have any good stories about your time as a druid? What was yourAnimal Companion

Inspirational Map thread
also ive been looking for that one map of the entire boneyard in pathfinder that featured groetus, or otherwise a large ass moon, seen overhead. i could be mistaken that its pathfinder but im fairly certain it has deathly influence. all of the places were labeled too.
Who got awful rules in the new CSM supplement? Just the word bearers edition.

First for LEVIATHANS
2nd for Chaos players can stop whining.
Question!
If a HQ joins a squad of Troops. Is the unit role Troops, HQ or both for the purposes of Deathwatch Missions Tactics and other rules that rely on battlefield role?
Sorry if it's not related, but hey, riddles and puzzles are pretty /tg/.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
I got:
1. Edward
2. Ditheringspoon
3. Adams
4. Clark
5. Baines
I guess Clarke was lying, other wise it wouldn't have worked. I think I'm wrong tho because it says "Ditheringspoon's" so he's probably first.

Question about the Symbiote jump, are all the Imprisoned perks just things that a symbiote could just do for you normally?
>>50522503
No, you've got your scales wrong. Picotech is technology made of sub-atomic particles, it's a thousand times smaller than anything nanites are designed to work with. And femtotech is made of things a thousand times smaller than that. Nanites can't manipulate things on that scale, they'll eat your nanoswarms alive. Do the smart thing, burn it all down. If you can raise the energy density to about 1 GeV per cubic femtometer, then even femtotech should fall apart. Or, if you really don't want to do that, just make your own pico/femtotech.
Post Drawings of your past, present or future characters that you drew yourself!
What's wrong /tg/, don't you draw your own characters?
that's a cute moth

>What's wrong /tg/, don't you draw your own characters?
I'm not good at drawing, but I am good at making characters interesting enough that drawfags will make them.
My Tiefling Paladin Avisra that I draw doing meme shit more than actual decent art.
So, question: What would wargaming be like in a world with out 40k? Assuming that Rogue Trader bombed horribly, what would it be like today? Would games like infinity, warmachine and Malifaux exist? Would WHFB take its place?
>>50522092
This board wouldn't exist.
>>50522092
Battletech would trundle along as the main sci-fi tabletop game, giving the genre a bad name as those '80s aesthetics and model quality tried to last into the 2000s. So yeah, WHFB would rule (potentially Lord of the Rings), and maybe WWII games would be bigger.
>>50522092
GW would be a much smaller company company but with a broader product range.
