Head Canon Edition
A thread where we discuss a setting where the player would be living in an urban apartment and the whole building would be filled with bizarre event and strange tenant. Weird and creepy but
comfy at the same time. Post your idea.

Notes:
So far there are no coding involved, only brainstorming for now. If you cooked up some delicious doc link it to the op, and maybe it'll be included in the next OP.Pastebin soone
I'll start,
an enigmatic maid, who always seen cleaning the apartment almost everywhere. e.g as you walk to the apartment lobby you'll see the maid sweeping but when you're on your way to your room, you'll see the same maid vacuuming the hallway. going back to the lobby, you'll see that maid still sweeping the lobby.
the weather outside your room's window always change depending on your mood and taste but on the 13th day of every month the weather is blood mist red and sometime you felt like someone was watching.
A tenant midget who hates you for everything, knows everything that you do and what you are currently doing. he will also know your past and will complain about you to you but never talk behind your back.
Inaudible whisper can be heard at night from everywhere in your room when it's completely pitch black outside and inside your room.
Whenever you tried to have a snack while you're at your lap/computer/TV, there's always a disturbance. sometimes your room is upside down, the furniture aren't in the place that it was supposed to be, for every chip you bite a scream will be heard or every stuff in your room are floating
bumping till other poster shows up
Lazy shut in and good for nothing neighbor who always asked for food from you but she know the apartment like the back of her hand, you'll sometime see her wandering around the apartment complex and claim that she's on an adventure.Has a wicked sense of humor and love to tease people. She has been living in the apartment far more longer than you at least.

I keep saying that this is kinda inevitable, because one of the two defining themes we're building on is innately tied with the holders of power and official station.

Editfag is in Europe. Right now it's the middle of the night where he is. He tends to respond early in the day relative to Amerifags. He usually hangs around the thread without his name on, like several of the writefags. So I would wait about a day before wondering if he's dead.

Question: Who was a PC of another player in one of your games that you loved? Why?

I'm going to start DMing a new campaign next month, and I have almost nothing prepared. I could smush together a story, and a scenario, but I really don't want to do that this time. I want to run a totally sandbox game driven by the players.
What are the bare bones things I should have prepared in spite of this? A map? A list of gods, and religions? A list of random NPC names to be pulled out of a hat?
And how should I get the group to get together, and stay together in the least intrusive manner?
Reposting from the last thread because I came late.
Pile of questions.
What are some fun uses for tavern brawler? I feel like the feat is fun and a good excuse for a +1 strength as a human. I want to think of ways to use the grapple and the improvised weapons in fun ways.
Are there rules for bashing someone in the face with a shield? Like not pushing with shield master just hitting someone with it? If there aren't would it be an improvised weapon (see: tavern brawler)? And either way would you keep or lose your shield bonus doing so?
Does your hand need to be free when you make the attack to benefit from tavern brawler to make the grapple? E.g. lets say you're using a weapon and a shield and you replace an attack with a kick or healthy headbutt that hits, can you then drop your weapon and grapple as a bonus action? Ideally if the above conditions are met then start beating them in the face with your shield or your "unarmed" helmeted head?
What are some things you can do with a net, particularly getting it to actually hit? It seems like there's no way to use it without disadvantage without the sharpshooter or crossbow master feat? (or using it on a helpless person I guess which isn't as useful I feel)
I...I want to play a really filthy fighter.
5 days edition
Playing?
Hating?
What does control need to be more viable in the format?
Do you think we can safely unban one of the cantrips or is that too crazy?
Do you think DSJ is just fotm or do you think it has a place to stay in the formt? DO you think the results it's been putting up have been because of the people playing it or because it's tier 0?

>Opinions on the attempted price spikes on cards that aren't getting reprinted?
Well, I'm disgusted. When Wizards finally get their shits together and reprint key cards some fuckers artificially make other cards more expensive so that the format stays pricy and they can keep making money out of it.
>>52077944
There's not that much to say, other than the Primus and Angers which could be Chalice or Lightning Bolt it's a stock hurr prime time valakut list. If it works for you, great.

Since as I recall in the book he spent his first century of rule holed up in isolation, I imagine he didn't personally have one.

The author knew jack shit, and that is why there was a tax policy, and it was meme level. Oppressive tyrant and his oppressive taxes take everything and leave you to starve. If I recall correctly.

>>52060440
It's mediocre trash. Only two or three players are even half-decent, the rest are shit. Combats take waaaaaay too fucking long and are extremely boring. The story is a cliche yawn-fest. All of the PCs - without exception - are bland stereotypes.
Plus an hour of product placement at the beginning of each episode, and 1 hour of shitty Deviantart at the end of each episode.
>>52060457
This is what the entire Crit Role fanbase is like. Pure cancer.
Have we reached the point where we can admit 4e is the best edition of d&d yet?
http://geekandsundry.com/four-reasons-why-you-should-still-be-playing-4th-edition-dd/
>geek and sundry
>>52053305
fantasy art has been complete garbage since the Kamigawa series ended
Bait thread, but I can't disagree other than to say that 4E is the best edition but part of the reason for that is that it is only tangentially DnD. If it had been released under a different name -- Final Fantasy Tactics: the Roleplaying Game, for instance -- it wouldn't have had anywhere near the backlash.
It was unique and different in a way that 5E completely turned around from by making Inoffensive Nostalgia the Game.
>>52053361
Let us not forget that WotC invited this backlash by insulting unhappy customers.
