Are there any formations for Girlyman?

Ignoring those, what is the best way to support and use him in an army? I was thinking of a Conclave using Tigirius and two ML2 Librarians with AoD psychic powers to move him around. But I don't know what else to take in such an army; maybe Ultramarines or White Scars for a demi-company? Annihilation Strike Force?

Some friends getting me back in to play 'combat patrol,' after not having played 40k in years, how does this look? It's supposed to be fluffed as a sort of light scouting platoon, I realize I would probably be better off with carapace on the vets and some sort of transport, but muh light infantry. What's the cheapest way to go about getting a full 20 man Crusader squad with Chainswords?

Buy Burning of Prospero, sell off the stuff I don't need? Main issue is getting enough swords for everyone without spending 66€ for 10 Assault Marines with swords or buying several Black Templar upgrade sets, since every set only comes with 6 Chainswords and 4 other melee weapons.

Also no idea if there's a way to save cash on getting 10 Scouts. Was thinking buying Land Speeder Storms for the Scouts and selling the Land Speeder itself for cheap, but that doesn't come with melee poses and probably not even enough weapons.

I'm building an iron hands force, currently have no space marine models. Already have an idea of what it's going to look like.

Question is: I'm also interested in building it for 30k as well. Going to be making it out of mk2-6 armor, mainly the mk3 and 4 from the box sets. I know there'll be issues with special and heavy weapons and I'll need extras because of squad differences.

I want a mechanized Iron Hands army. What kind of 30k stuff should I invest in outside of the backwards compatible 40k stuff like the rhino chassis vehicles? And is it worth using the various 30k FW stuff that has 40k rules in a 40k game, or should I just stick to codex models?

In fact, DKoK WAS one of said DLC packs. Sure, you could make a Death Korps army, but only if they were literally Death Korps and nothing else.

The books seem so up and down.
I really liked Descent of Angels even if it read like YA fiction, because it wasn't just "McGuffin turned em ebil."

While Horus had a bit of lead in it really seemed like it came down to being stabbed by evil sword, and Fulgrim was finding an evil sword etc. Meanwhile, The Fallen it shows actual reasons for bitterness where they can be turned.

Yea, I'm playing NL for that group and for 30k, too. I've had mixed results with ebay, personally. Unless it's china, the savings really haven't been that great from what I've seen. Like 10-15% at best, and at worst higher than MSRP. I keep scouring, though.

Yeah, but he got to kill a Wraithknight. A guaranteed kill on a Titan belonging to an ancient xenos race whose loss is completely irreplaceable to his race. It's a war machine that even the most arrogant Scion would admit is at least his equal, and the veterans would know is often more than a match for a human-piloted Knight. That's a massive boost to his social standing in his House and a battle he'll talk about for the rest of his life.

Yeah, but honestly you can't get to realistic. Health or shields that let you take some hits are a big part of those kind of games. They'd probably go with armor integrity or somesting. Hits weaken your carapace, and when it breaks next hit kills you or something. Find new carapace or repair kits every now and again. The best part is that he used to be the best painter in the group and at the time his brother was the #2, and I was #3. (Because no one else fucking bothered to paint, I managed to get the nids guy to start, though). Now his brother and a bunch of people in our friend group call me the best painter of us 3. I don't even know where to find the motivation anymore. I want to put them together and paint them. Hell, I enjoy painting, but it is so time consuming and often it feels like work. I don't mean work as in effort, that's fine. I mean work like I feel like I'm at my job or something, and i keep putting it off, especially because the only time I can put any work into anything.

Also a formation. Harlequins get more of the same shit but I assume you don't care about them.

I had trouble working up motication myself. Getting involved in a community helps. There are some events at my shop that encourage me to paint. Having people to talk to about it and brag to makes me a lot more likely to do it.
