How do i stop overcomplicating problem solving thought processes ? Making myself clear: most of the times i get school exercises wrong not because i didnt *exactly* not know how to solve it but because i overcomplicate stuff. What could i do about that ?

Is there any book on algebra that starts from the very very basics like
a+1=2
a=2
and ends on precalculus?

Brainlet here: I don't even study anything, I just find it interesting and don't remember shit from school since I didn't care.

Have to start somewhere.

Oh, and please, don't recommend KhanAcademy. I know that one.

Please disregard the mistake I made up there.. Oh my god.
>>
just buy a cheap algebra textbook on amazon and then a calculus one. The connection should be made clear in your readings.

So, basically I am too stupid to understand this damn thing. Basically when I solve the triple integrals and I proceed directly to the coordinate change I get a negative volume. So I had a look at some solved exercises and the dude first solve them using the...strates and wires (okay I have no clue how to call it in English)....and then proceeds to change the domain and pass to a a different coordinate system. So how the fuck should I proceed?

Dude, but that's the sphere equation. How can you do that? Is not a simple domain. That's why I was thinking to integrate it simply in terms of z but if I do it in spherical coordinates it gets crazy

Will humanity die because it was too ignorant, or because it was too smart

Humanity will die because it gave rights to women. I think that counts as ignorance.

Humanity will die because it became so smart it began to neglect and ignore it’s distinct flaws, becoming ignorant, and leading to it’s destruction.
So both

Any dietitians here or medical guys here?

I've been on this low-carb diet and my sister in-law is telling me I'll turn yellow and really damage my liver with this meme ketogenic diet.

I'm finding incomplete and contradictory information on the internet, otherwise I've been feeling pretty good after 1 month on the diet.

Hi /sci/ I have always had this question but never got a clear answer. Is IQ or Intelligence genetic or is it gained from your environment from when you are little.

If it is genetic then does that mean that if smart people make a child, the child will be very smart?

I am not the smartest but when i compare myself to my parents i feel like a genius.

From what i've heard, up to 40% of your IQ comes from genetics.

So if the smartest people in the world did reproduce, the child could possibly be the most intelligent person on the planet. Possibly.
>>
>>9117178
Genetics effect your IQ just like other environmental things such as drinking breast milk.
>>
>>9117358
way higher than 40%.

Hey /sci/, what would happen if you convinced an indigenous Amazonian woman to mate with an indigenous South African man? Given that their ancestral roots are so geographically separated, would the resultant offspring be able to reproduce (which would biologically classify the parents as the same species)?

Asking for a friend.

Yes. It's probably happened in real life at some point as well.
>>
>>9117062

How would you know? As far as I know it has never happened.

If it were to have occurred and the offspring was infertile, than how would this finding change our perception of sapient, bi-pedal primates. Would we have to reform the homo sapiens taxonomy?

Has it scientifically been proven to do what it says it does? Could it all be explained by the fact youre just oxigenating your body in a more proper way than normal?

Why is AC so controversial? it's intuitively obvious that having collection of sets you can pick one element from each set, why do this simple result make so many people upset?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
The real bad thing about the AC is that it leads to non-constructive proofs.
>>
>>9116810
But there are nonconstructive proofs that don't rely on AC. And what's wrong with nonconstructive proofs in first place?

I have an alternative theory to the big bang and the beginning of the universe.

Bear with me here.

I put it to you that the universe did not explode outward from a tiny point - propelled by some inexplicable force. Is it possible that the universe was, in fact, the result of a massive three dimensional tear?

Say, for instance, you stretch out a sheet of black nylon fabric really taught - and then stab it in the center with a scalpel - what happens? the material bursts outward from the middle in every direction, increasing in speed as it goes. It might even leave some particles of detritus behind as it goes.

Now, imagine that happening three dimensionally and on a universal scale.

Is it possible that what we now call the "bang" was in fact the explosive retraction of material being wrenched apart under enormous tension from some outside force?

That we all now survive amongst the gases and dust left behind by the enormous splitting of the fabric outside our realm?

I'm fairly sure there are reasons why this cannot be the case, but i'm not aware of them.

DUDE DRUGS LMAO

Benzos are prescribed in cases where the therapeutic effects outweigh the side effects. They have to choose the "lesser evil" so to speak.

If you have no related illness then it will have no therapeutic effect and other beneficial effects are debatable at best, it is like shooting up with insulin if you don't have diabetes. If you have anxiety or difficulty concentrating then you should speak to someone who has been to med school first. Yeah.

Anybody have any theories on RH negative blood? It can't be from a mutation if the protein simply isn't there. I've looked all over the internet and can't find too much info other than aliens lol. I'm A negative

Variation among organisms is a prerequisite for evolution -- so any organism that has evolved (all of them, at least on Earth) will show variations. Variations that have few if any upsides OR downsides for the organism may or may not become widespread.

Also, it is interesting that you assume negative is the odd condition -- maybe only those weird mutants have positive .
>>
>>9116529 no im not saying it's odd, my whole fathers side of my family is RH negative. There are also physical differences. I have 34 vertebrae and never had wisdom teeth either. Also have different color eyes.
