I start and I'm a little embarrassed that I don't know but could old sail ships without motor stop/break actively? Or would they just let them decelerate naturally?

The most common breaking maneuver for a sailing ship is "Heaving To". This allows you to break without messing with your sail setting.

If a moving charge generates a magnetic field, how come there isn't magnetic fields everyhwere? Is it because these charges in every day objects are all moving at different speeds in different directions so the net magnetic field is essentially 0?

It's just existentialism in fun play-doh colors. Also something was a bit "off" about the video, and it was actually identified by a commentor (one of the smarter youtube comments I've read): the video assumes that you're in a socioeconomic/cultural/geographic position to "choose your own philosophy" and approach life as you wish. This is only even halfway tenable in less-unfree societies such as the United States. A person with the misfortune to live in Saudi, or NK, or Somalia, has more immediate problems and is most assuredly not free to make any meaningful outward expression of a deviant philosophy or worldview.

Our political system isn't revolving around how we should funnel money into it's politicians to prevent solar eclipses, no room for abuse. But I'm no denialist just against the extreme inefficiency of the preventative standards. If the first world really cared about climate change they would declare war on China and rainforest holocausters in South America and so on. You have to use your military to get what you want, for the good of humanity right? Or else we die out no? So stop the actual polluters.
>>
>>9118787

It's not vaccines, it's the additives.

For climate change it's not the chemistry, it's the hilariously inaccurate models.

I'm not red pilled on evolution, sorry senpai.

And I can't fucking believe it, this is the first time in my life that I'm understanding my own mediocrity.

So, it has been some weeks since I started my math degree, I was very excited and probably still am but today I realized I'll never be the kind of person that I've always dreamed of. Pic related is a problem that our Discrete Mathematics professor was talking about, no one in the class was able to solve it, he even gave us 5 minutes or so to try, there were even some girls trying to solve it in their notebooks, but in the end all effort was futile. But then this fucking piece of shit who didn't even opened his notebook said he solved and gave the answer 8. Everyone was shocked and the motherfucker even said he did it in his head and without using any of the advanced techniques we were learning at the time, but using only school knowledge about combinatorics. I've never been so shocked in my life.

Now I can finally understand why this board is so obsessed with IQ and intelligence, it means literally everything in this field, I doubt anyone in my class will even come close to the accomplishments of this man. Even worst, everyone is already his friend and the guy is shy and strange, they even call him "Jackie" now because somehow he reminds them of Jackie Chan meanwhile I have no friends in this shithole yet.

Translation of some parts of the image: Calculate "m" knowing that...

Funny, that's how I started to talk to people in the University.

The first month I spent all the time alone but when the exam results came, for some reason the teacher liked to give the results in order, first the higher and finishing with the lowest.

Then people started to talk to me and to this day they still think that I'm very smart, but in reality the only thing I am good at is math, in the rest of the subjects I am below average.

Or draw Pascal's triangle, that's also what he did. He says he did it in his head but you also admit he was weird, weird/autistic people are self conscious in general so are afraid of telling people about themselves, in this case about how he solved the problem. Maybe he didnt want to be frustrated by all the attention as he was explaining Pascal's triangle. I imagine it went something like
>Dios mio Jose how you solve that ese?
>I did in mi cabesa is all..
>Orale

>Know that [math]\sum\limits_{i = 0}^{m}{m\choose{i}} = 2^m[/math]
>Realize it can't require much calculation if you're only given five minutes
>Notice that the sum is a little off and that 254 is 2 away from a power of 2.

What else could it have been? The guy had some background knowledge and good instincts, nothing more.

Everyday I count calories and macronutrients for my diet and I have created my own little database of nutrient profiles on Onenote and then use a pen and calculator to manually add up my daily consumption before typing the totals into a table.
I feel like I could probably save a lot of time if I transfer it from Onenote into something else (e.g Excel) whereby I could click on the food and type in the weight and it will automatically calculate it for me and possibly even display it nicely with built in stats.
I have very basic programming knowledge but I'm not sure what I should be using to create this.

Apologies for being a bit of a nooblet but any help would be appreciated.

Pic related.. it's my current database and example calculation.

thats the one I use
http://www.true-natural-bodybuilding.com/ for the tutorial on how to use it.
You can also add foods that are not included in there from another excel sheet thats linked in the first one.

If you want to track daily macro and calories and that you eat something different everyday just use Myfitnesspal app

I never understood this, but why doesn't the sun damage my eyes when it's bright outside and I'm not wearing sunglasses? The light still reaches my eyes, but it doesn't damage them. Why is it that only when looking directly at the sun, your eyes get damaged?

Oh God, I feel like I'm losing my intelligence to depression. It's the only thing I have left. How the fuck do I get rid of depression and psychosis? The meds don't fucking work. I can't lose science. It's all I have left.

Over the counter stuff is never guaranteed to work, and pharmological approaches without therapy tends to not achieve much. Unless you're willing to invest some money, lifestyle changes. Other than that, steroids? I heard it could really help correcting neurochemical imbalances and make you feel like a million bucks.

I know where you're coming from though. I was pretty bummed going into college bc high school was just a mess. Then I noticed thinning hair and shit really hit the fan. Since then I've focused on personal development stuff - academics, working out, learning an instrument, focusing on me. It's really helped, and I feel really good.

>>9118589
My personal experience with depression was mainly overcome by the thrill of achievement after a lot of hard work, which came during a period following a string of losses.

Are you in school? Why do you need science? Do you have dreams and goals in mind? Are you following your plan toward achieving those goals?

Also, the whole "get outside and exercise" stuff might seem like total bullshit and non-advice, but if you can force yourself to do it, it might help. I personally made an experiment of it. Went running a few days a week and gauged my general feelings as being slightly better; things that would previously set me off, or grind my soul were just a little easier to brush off. Part of it might be that I was out of shape and had poor self-image; getting into a healthy range felt pretty good.

Basically I think it really helps if you get into a mindset of setting goals and working towards them, ideally with some sort of reward mechanism. Try something like that maybe.

It's a clue sent by the creator to teach us how to create worm holes or something else similiar to that

It's just a more advanced version. Think how a piece of fruit hanging from a tree turns the brightest most contrasting color when it's ready to be ate, almost like it's a clue. Same thing with music, humans are attracted to it because music is they key to unlocking the secrets of the universe, we just haven't figured out how to yet
