Why are socks sold in pairs?
I get it for shoes, because you have a left and right shoe, but this isn't the case for socks.
You can change which you wear on which foot, so why are we being sold pairs?

Thoughts on this?
I don't want to go through pregnancy, but I want a baby boy with the genes of me and my husband. I learned that this is actually possible by using a surrogate mother and IVF.
Do you guys think I'd be a terrible theoretical parent for wanting this?
The idea is to donate fertilized eggs (with me and my husband's genes) to a surrogate mother. She would get paid to carry and deliver the baby. Then, the baby would be ours. This is fairly common, but it's typically reserved for couples who medically can't have children otherwise. In *my* case, I'm healthy enough to just give birth myself (as far as I know).
But:
1. I'm super narcissistic -- I don't want to ruin my body with a pregnancy.
2. I'm scared that the baby wouldn't be a boy. IVF would supposedly let me choose the sex of the baby. I would almost want to abort my baby if I found out it was a girl.
3. I'm scared the baby wouldn't be healthy. I think IVF chooses the healthiest-looking egg.
4. I'm also scared of pregnancy complications in myself, even though I have no known medical issues in that area. My aunt almost died during pregnancy.
I don't want to adopt a kid because I would feel guilty about not passing on my husband's genes.
What do you all think? Am I just not fit to be a parent mindset-wise? Or is this something maybe understandable and I'm not that crazy?
I don't think my mindset will change any time soon. Or, if it does, it'll be when I'm over 30 years old, so the risk of autism through my pregnancy would be significantly increased, which is nightmare material.

I don't know if I've wasted my life, but I feel like there's no reason to live.
I lost a lot of weight and worked on my appearances/social skills and I was unable to find a gf. If anything, I just had a bunch of bad experiences by trying that which kind of fucked me up and made me more depressed than I was before.
I spent about a year with no friends and could probably be considered mentally ill for about a year because I was living alone and had no one to talk to but was very stressed out and had to deal with assholes at my job/a ton of school work.
I gained all my weight back during that time and ended up losing my job because they needed to lay people off and I was just an intern.
Now I'm a Senior with very little positive college experiences, mostly due to the fact that even after a lot of effort out into improving them I still failed.
It seems like no matter what I do I'm stuck as a friendless, single loser. What the fuck do I have to look forward to?
