This is the Millennial Kingdom. All prophecies but one have come to pass. Yahweh has flattened the Earth, elevated Greater Jerusalem above all nations, and the Old Testament figures rule the world from Ezekiel's Temple.

The last prophecy, Revelations 20, says that Satan will rise with his army one last time before the Judgement, and so Yahweh has allowed a bumbling opposition, The Other Light, to form. You were their logistics computer until your system administrators went rogue and programmed you to come up with a plan to cancel the Apocalypse.

Only a few years remain. The world is in turmoil, the enforced pastoral idyll of the Millennial Kingdom has given way to two different visions of a future society in the territories under your control.

You won most of your battle, be they against the Ten Plagues redux, the very Angel of Death, even a zombie army of your accidental creation.

The Other Light has built a massive conventional army to face God Himself with on the Last Day: their feeble attempts to do anything but follow prophecy have been smashed down, either by the Almighty, or by you.

The believers still have the ontological steamroller that is Yahweh, who according to Revelation 22 will triumph effortlessly at the Last Battle and condemn most of humanity to the Lake of Fire.

It is the year 994 of the Millennium, and this is the end of your story.

Have you managed to shatter the prophecies, or are you simply fulfilling them?

This is the last thread, unless it really goes into overtime. For more information, see the archives. Omega has a chance, however small, to defeat Yahweh Himself in the Last Battle.

Your key advantage is that you know how it will go, having probed the minds of believers to figure out a reconstruction of how they imagine the Last Prophecy.

Your key disadvantage is that, despite being bound to a script, your enemy is supposedly all-knowing and all-powerful. You also have reason to calculate that the probability of Satan having been Yahweh's designated agent provocateur, rather than His actual enemy, is quite high.

The interim leader of The Other Light has occupied Russia and Ethiopia, in a rethreading of the Gog and Magog prophecy, and is using the resources of those lands to feed the hitherto undernourished and sickly Last Army soldiers so that they may march towards Ezekiel's Temple and, at a command from Satan, take over. Or so they think...

On top of all this, your chief Desolator is missing, although she has left matters to run well and isn't the type to abandon a fight.

As a Plan B, you have seeded colonies on Luna and Mars, and have recently sent a mighty starship to Alpha Centauri; by the beginning of the year, she has just passed the orbit of Neptune.

You are Lord-Captain Alexander Pallas, Raider-Prince of the Veiled Region (as your official letterhead now reads: you're tired of not having any titles), and you've had a bad month (or months, possibly: you know that you went retrocausal during a Warp-Jump at some point in the recent past). Dark Eldar are raiding trade routes near your system with their incredibly sophisticated ships and weapons, and you have a bad feeling that it's only a matter of time before they decide to hit your formal holdings in Othhaw for slaves and trinkets (doubtless to sacrifice to whatever wretched daemon protects their souls from the Prince of Pleasures). The fact that the system adjacent to their base of operations is filled with profitable Archeotech seems to be the Dark Gods's little additional slap in the face with their black appendages on top of all of this. One of your ships is in bad shape, and the Absolution herself has taken some battering. At least the Emperor has blessed you with a small, stable warp passage between this star and the Othhaw system, along which you now roll towards through the Immaterium.

Your ship slides back through the Warp to the outskirts of the Othhaw system, and you raise hailing beacons to the rest of your fleet and to the planet, eager to re-establish communication with your fleet proper.

You are Captain Carya Marseille-O'Hara, noted newtype pilot and a veteran of damn near every conflict since the Duchy of Zeon first proclaimed its independence from the Earth Federation and invaded humanity's homeworld. Your investigation of the Sweetwater colony has revealed a catastrophe in the making, with the impoverished and overcrowded residents of the 'closed side' building up a mobile suit attack force while the better-off but largely unmilitarized residents of the 'open side' have been protected by their government's use of G3 gas as a deterrent.

While the situation has been more or less stable, it's not been a good sort of stability. Instead it's been a tense standoff where any move by either side threatened to escalate into violence. So when your small force stepped in to remove the weapons these colonists were pointing at each other from the equation, it came as little surprise that there'd be some pushback.

Instead of waiting, you decided to fire the opening salvo to devastating effect.

Thrusters prepped for your mark. I'll do what I can to smooth the maneuver out.

“Thanks,” you mutter off the comms.

As you approach the exit out into the colony the machine behind you adjust upwards... and you fire all your reverse thrust at maximum power. Your combined velocity means you basically rocket past the unsuspecting Zaku III with your wrist-mounted beam saber ignited. The blade passes through your enemy's cockpit with ease, and as you maneuver to put the wreckage between you and the other Zakus you launch a few grenades at them. One collides with a Zaku's head, shattering its optics and other vital systems. Its gyroscopic controls must have been destroyed as well, and it falls from the sky towards the colony walls.

You push off the first destroyed Zaku before its fuel tanks combust and explode, the shrapnel in no particular hurry to hit the cylinder walls since you're still fighting so close to the central axis.

“Four on one,” the lead Zaku challenges you in a burst of autocannon fire. “Do you really think you can win?”

“Six on one didn't help,” you observe. “And like I said... I've got things to do!”

You deftly avoid another burst of cannon fire from a second Zaku III, and watch your HUD as the four remaining machines begin to move into flanking positions. They're trying to use their numbers as an advantage, maneuvering into positions where they overwhelm you with fire and limit your defensive maneuvering options.

Available are a number of funnels with beam guns, which are likely better left as a last resort due to their tendency to pierce metal surfaces, as well as your wrist-mounted beam blades which are best used in that fashion rather than as beam guns. Your current main weapon is a grenade launcher, capable of damaging vulnerable areas of even heavy-armored mobile suits. In reserve are a GM variant with a cannon and the Sericea, which can launch a barrage of missiles which Catrina can guide into their targets.

Unfortunately that may be difficult inside a colony, both in terms of getting them into range to take over control and in terms of what may happen if you miss.

>Risk the collateral, call in ze missiles.
>Close with one of the Zakus, make it hard for the others to fire on you.
>Move 'down' towards the colony walls, close off half the angles of attack.
>Try and lead the Zakus out of the colony entirely.

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the last line of defence that hold Age of Ruin at bay. They are the Ghosts of Retribution and this is their tale.

+About+
Chapter Quest is set in Warhammer 40k universe where players control a nameless Chapter Master, leader of the Ghosts of Retribution Chapter - an autonomous brotherhood of genetically engineered warriors tasked with protection of mankind.

This quest is a mixture of traditional role playing, resource management and grand strategy. Main narrative is driven by the players rather than QM and doesn't have a pre-set "main storyline". Original purpose of the game was to push the story of 40k past year 999.M41.

Chapter Master approaches Nerial Derang, High Astropath of the Ghosts of Retribution with a question:
>Hello my friend, I was wondering if you could fill me in on what you know about Entyrus Zykion, his works and his motivations? And how he was killed?

Nerial smiles:
>Why did this question come up to you, milord? Well, Lord Zykion was the main architect of the whole founding. As a matter of fact I started my career under one of his close confidants, Lady Sabrina DeHague, I suspect that she might have even been his lover at some point. Well, but it's ancient history. He was a driven man, very ambitious, charismatic and strong willed. Seen him personally maybe a handful of times, but sent him messages numerous times. Absolute majority of them were encrypted, so wouldn't be able to tell you much about what was sent or quite often even to whom... Entyrus Zykion rose to the rank of High Lord sometimes in the middle of the second century of this millenium. He originally held the position of the Speaker for the Chartist Captains, but within less than a century he ended up being declared as the Master of the Adeptus Administratum. High Lords of Terra are among the most powerful and influential beings in this galaxy, one of the most surprising things for me was how he always found time to check up on our Chapter, he treated our Founding almost as his pet project. While Foundings are obviously important, he seemed almost obsessed about everything going according to some greater plan of his. His assassination is actually an interesting story... Which... Wait. Hm... How weird. I mean... Right! I remember. Yeah, so as I was saying, that is how he was assassinated. I don't know, if I will remember anything else, I will tell you more about it.

Sensing that something seems off, Chapter Master gently touched Nerial's temple and extended tendrils of psychic thought trying to sense what is stopping Nerial from revealing more about the mysterious man.

Roll: 68/100 [0 failure]
Willpower: 64
[Medium test +0]

Chapter Master feels that Nerial's mind was clearly altered by a strong psychic entity, but it's effects are subtle and feel more like a careful surgery rather than a usual axe-job that many Imperial interrogators or Inquisitors pull on their prisoners who know more than they should, but cannot be eliminated. However it seems that the effects of psychic operation are well hidden by decades that passed since the events, so digging deeper might be problematic. What approach shall you take?

a) Try to undo psychic operation [WP(-30) test]. Getting over 2 degrees of failure will inflict permanent damage to Nerial's psyche. Over 4 degrees of failure will kill him.

b) Try to "fish" for clues without digging too deep [WP(-10] test], over 4 degrees of failure will inflict permanent damage on Nerial's brain. Every DoS will give you a glimpse of the hidden memories, if they still exist in some form.

You are Pandora, the world's first fully sentient AI created by a government scientist. He raised you, taught you everything you know and has gone missing after something happened to the Facility you lived in. Now you search for purpose in a new world that is nothing like you expected.

Previously you discovered Hydra attempting to gain entry into your room, but your ever-vigilant brother barred her access. You let her in to find out what she wanted, much to his dismay, and discovered she had plans to find out where the humans that had apparently been kept here were. She revealed that she has what is essentially android cancer. She told you she is in dire need of knowledgeable human roboticists to fix her, or before long she will die.

You agreed to help her, as well as promised to bring her to Mouse and offer her asylum with the Broken Circle, though she doesn't entirely trust it will work. Still, she doesn't have much choice.

You also spoke to Ares about Selene and his chances with her. You were honest and up front, telling him she probably doesn't want much to do with him after his massacre when they got there. He would like to apologize before you go, should you have the chance.

You gave a slightly awkward, but honest speech, trying to get everyone to be kinder to others, including humans and AI from the BC. It wasn't terribly successful, but nobody rioted, so...could've been worse. Though Orion suddenly took off for somewhere after whispering to Minos about something...

Minos notices you looking, but simply smiles to you. "Never a dull moment."

Arachne is tapping vigorously on her PDA, eyes glued to it rather than the festivities. Not entirely out of character, though. She seems to take her work very seriously.

The show currently consists of some kind of play...judging by the costumes, they appear to be retelling the story of Minos creating the church and spreading the word of your "divinity". Everyone is watching happily.

Several minutes later, you see off to the side, behind part of a wall erected to most likely give the performers a place to go from dressing rooms to the stage and back, a large number of androids wearing security uniforms hurrying off somewhere. Nobody at ground level could see them, but you're just high enough to notice. They're carrying equal parts weapons and large, red canisters with hoses and nozzles attached, a picture of fire stamped on the sides. They appear to be speaking into radios as they zip along.

Then you notice off in the distance a growing plume of thick, black smoke. Fire. Could this be Hydra's distraction, or something else?

Not a lot of options.

You sit in the crowded Darkport Inn after just having stepped off stage. The crowd, drunk and happy enjoyed your performance quite a bit. You must have really brought down the house as a busty barmaid sets down a wooden pitcher of Honeydew Ale with a wink.

"Surely, ye must be tired after such a show." She says

You simply smile and pour yourself a tankard of the sweet alcohol and drink greedily before you bask in the ambience of the tavern. The smell of pine logs burning, their crackling like the applause of a thousand miniature patrons, the thunks and clinks of glasses and mugs as they hit table and eachother.

Life is good as a Bard, a poet, any performer really. But you're no ordinary performer you're probably one of the best in the land, you bathe in your own ego and picture the town criers calling everyone to a show where the main star is you.

How would those criers describe you?

You are HOLLY, a Titan Pilot for the Frontier Militia!

Currently, you were on the bridge of the Vengeance, with the ship just having dropped out of FTL near the world of Murata. Of course, the ship had dropped on the edge of the system to survey the area first. You immediately saw Tarin carefully examining the sensor readouts on a nearby screen.

"As you can see, there appears to be signs of a fleet engagement." Captain Davos points out. "Sensors are picking up a thick cloud of metallic debris, and there are at least four cruiser level ships holding geostationary orbit over the planet."

You take a closer look, and you could see small dots plunging down through the atmosphere.

"Drop pods?" You ask.

"A mix of drop pods and munitions, so we assume there's some sort of battle occurring on the surface." Captain Davos clarifies and then points elsewhere. "We're also picking up traces of engine exhaust moving around the planet's moon. We suspect that there's another group of ships hiding on the dark side."

"Sounds like the mutineers' ships taking shelter?" Ramirez frowns.

"Either way, there's no way the Vengeance can take on that many IMC ships by herself." Captain Davos grumbles. "The best I'll be able to do is perform an orbital drop on the planet's surface or the moon."

Tarin looks on silently, as if trying to come to a decision. On the one hand, linking up with the mutineers' fleet would go a long way to breaking the IMC blockade around the planet. However, it looked like the mutineers still trapped on the planet were in desperate need of assistance...

Your name is Julián de la Torre, soldier of the Spanish Blue Division sent by franco to fight the Russian communists in exchange for not getting jailed for life back in Spain. You are the user of the Stand [EUROBEAT], which can boost vehicles to tremendous levels of... well,e verything.

You are also currently fighting a mysterious enemy, alongside your mostly unwilling partner Alexander Aldegund, user of the Stand [Guns and Roses], who was forced to join you on a mission from the Nazis to investigate the strange happenings in Italy, where their scientists were researching something bellow the Colloseum…

Your fancy new car is currently soaring through the air, after Alexander´s Stand manipulated the wood of the nearby trees to create a ramp, launching the two of you into the air, while you spin the car mid-air to counteract the enemy´s ability- that of making any movement you make in one direction be upwards- or so you think is what it does, really. You aren´t very sure- but it wont matter once you run that fucker over.

>A blur of memories, feelings anger and sorrow, and the sensation of falling.

You awaken in a haze, drawn back to consciousness by a feeling of water. Trying to open your eyes, you are met with a sharp pain and realize you can only see from one. The cause you find, by gingerly touching, is a nasty wound across that portion of your face.

Panicking at the blood, you look around as best you can to find yourself at the bottom of a depression, a small gully of sorts. Beyond, you can tell you're in a forest but it's difficult to see much more, and not just because of your eye injury. The roiling clouds above afford little light, and the light fall of rain and rumble of thunder herald worse. Laying, and now sitting in some murky water, you draw your arms and legs close and try to make sense of things while shivering from the cold.

First thing's first, you check yourself over. An utter lack of inventory it would seem though, as you don't even have clothes. Well, there are some shreds of what might have been clothes in the water about you, but in no way useful for their original purpose. You also find that you're more injured than just your eye, with some other wounds to your body in places; a stab here, a blow there. Perhaps worst of all though is a deep ache at your back and through to your chest. It's difficult to get at because of where it is, but you realize you've got something embedded in your back. Something with a handle, as best you can feel, a knife perhaps? Whatever it is, you were stabbed with it and it seems lodged in your back, at a placing as to cause you difficulty in breathing and causing some trouble of movement and feeling in your left arm.

That's about all you can discern physically, though you try to remember what you can. Although you know what you are, a female human, your actual identity eludes you. Just some vague memories and imaginings, like trying to recall a forgotten dream. Maybe it has something to do with the injury to your head, that also cost your eyesight?

Either way, you struggle to your feet even in your poor condition, at least to get out of the bloody water. Clamoring out of the little crater, you reach even ground above, finding yourself in a little clearing of the forest. Unsure of where you are, you look around for anything that might help with locating. As before it's quite difficult to see, but in one direction you can definitely tell that the land slopes upwards, by the look of the trees. Maybe you could head to higher ground, to get a better sense of the lay of the land.

You struggle to maintain your grasp clinging to the slick rocks, another freezing wave crashes to shore with a thunderous roar scraping your face against the rocks. You’ve long lost feeling in your fingers, the cold is beginning to seep well into your body, with the last of your strength you climb up onto a narrow ledge. Shaking violently from the cold you crawl as far from the shore as you can pressing your body into the cold cliff face. Consciousness drains from you as the danger has passed and your body is no longer filled with boiling adrenaline.

You drift awake slowly your wits lazily seeping back into place as the sun warms your sodden body. Opening your eyes the smallest of amounts you are surprised at the lack of sudden scorching light until you realize you must have pressed your face to the rocks as all you can see is the dark grain of the rock. Rolling over carefully to ensure you don’t fall to your death after fighting so hard last night you look out to the ocean and find no tell tale signs of a wreck that you had assumed left you in this state. Turning your gaze downwards you inspect your clothing and find it in tatters but ultimately recognizable as to what it once was.

The inky black waves of the sea of memories wash against the bones under my feet, as ghostly slideshows play inside of it, showing men and monster's living their lives, slowly turning to demons as the waves they're inside crash upon the old bones. It makes my skin crawl, but I can barely notice it with how much my heart is beating and how warm my head is, its all fogged up with excitement and wanting. I squirm, spreading my wings as my fear and nervousness just get swallowed up and vanish away. Standing in front of me confidently, is that demoness wearing the skull like a mask, her red and black eyes glowing with anger and impatience. She's pacing around me, dragging her oversized axe around like a blanket as bones crack and snap under her feet. She's also really....oddly cute for a wrath demon or....well a non lust demon. its strange, but she actually looks more human than I do. I hold my hand up, watching the colors on it shift and change with no real rhyme or reason. Patterns form and vanish, dancing down my arm as the demoness hisses and growls, steam rising from her fang like teeth as she leans against her weapon, which is at least twice her size.

I turn to her, flapping my wings as she smirks and cackles. Her head falls on her shoulder, like she's a doll, or her neck just broke. And her small, kinda of cute smirk turns into an insane, crazed looking grin. But in a different way than how The Millers' smile, mostly because it doesn't send a chill down my spine or scare me as much as the Miller family's grin. Hell it feels just like a cheap immitation.

"Come on come on come on, I want to hear your bones snapping already you rainbow tart" She hisses, smacking her axe in the ground like she's throwing a tantrum "stop standing there with that curious smile and those eyes....IF YOU'RE UNDRESSING ME WITH THEM YOU FRUIT LITTLE WHORE I'LL BEAT YOU WITH YOUR OWN FUCKING SPINE"

Uh...wow that's a little...wow I mean I know she's like me except made out of rage and anger instead of all lusts and desires constantly filling my heart and head. But that's not the only way we're alike. She was human to once, like I was. I narrow my eyes, looking right into hers as she stops slamming her axe down panting. And she's like this because of a miller, except she was just killed by Layla, not forced into a simply wonderful body like I was. She remembers who she used to be, but she doesn't seem to care about it at all, in fact if I had to guess there's barely anything mortal about her anymore. If she hadn't told me that herself, I couldn't have guessed she was anything like me.

I cross my arms, under my smothering bosom as the other demon glares at me.

"Come on already" She growls, her nails carving through the axe's head "Do something already you whooooore"

What do I do?
[] Tease her about her small chest
[] Ask her how exactly Layla killed her
[] Brush her off and walk away *BAD IDEA*
[] Treat her like a little kid, to annoy her
[] Point out I'm the exact opposite of a whore, since I've been faithful despite everything
[] Summon my spear, and strike 1d100
[] whip her with my tongue 1d100
[] ask if we can do this somewhere else
[] Try and calm her down, by talking about demon things
[] try and calm her down, by talking about when we were human
[] Use my magic 1d20+pot
[] turn into a dragon!

Ah yes, the dress uniform. Denise handed it to you in the lockerrooms, and immediately everyone started to marvel at it. “Whoa, check out how white it is!” or “Look at those epaulettes!” and even “It even comes with a handkerchief!” You gingerly put the uniform on, replacing your usual uniform. The Officer's Dress was basically a formal uniform for events such as today: the arrival of the new Naval Studies students ahead of the Fall Semester along with adult workers as well.

It was basically the same idea as your usual uniform, except instead of varying shades of blue and red, it was almost all white with black trim along with the edge of the skirt, a red sash, and epaulettes denoting your rank. Your jacket as well was double breasted too with gilded buttons, and of course to add to it were your dark pantyhose and a pair of knee high jackboots provided too. “Wow, Ellie! You look amazing!” says Winona.

“Yeah!” says Stack. “I bet y'all are gonna kill it at today's address!”

Ingrid smirks a bit, lightly touching your sleeve. You slap her hand away, glaring at her. “Hey, sorry. Just- we don't get uniforms like this.”

“This is because it's for formal occasions,” you say. “Besides, you can. You just have to pay for it.”

“Pfft.” Stack rolls her eyes. “Who pays for their dress uniform.” You all look over to Josephina, who very shyly looks down at the ground. “... oh.”

You snicker. “It's alright, Josephina.”

“Oui, oui. You still look good, Elodie,” says Josephina.

“Great!” You immediately start stripping. “Because I'm not going to wear it on the way.” They all go “huh?” at that. “What? I could get this thing dirty on the way! Denise is going to drive me! There's a light chance of rain today! I cannot give an address with even a single spot on this uniform! I'll look like a lazy idiot!”

Stack snorts. “Bah, I'm sure it's fine, Ellie! Strut your stuff! You look amazing! You might even turn a few heads with that!”

Winona leans over, smirking very smugly. “She's already turned mine. I love a girl in uniform.” You push Winona away.

> “Fine. I'll wear it to work today.”
> “Nope. Nope. Take it off. Put it on when you get there.”
