Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkworld creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.

They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.

For many years, Dark Gate Academy has held back the forces of the Darkworld, kept this unspeakable evil contained within their walls. But a dark cloud approaches, and times are about to change. A new chapter in the tale of Dark Gate Academy is about to begin.

“R-Raiden?!”

Yesterday, you can the other students made a trip to the hot springs in town for a nice, relaxing evening. And it was nice and relaxing, all things considered. But that pleasant evening only makes the morning after all the more horrific, when upon your return to school you discover... this. Raiden Yoi of Class 2, Akuro's brother, beaten half to death and hung up on a crucifix by Tsuki and Yami. The scream from Akuro when she saw this... it was heartbreaking.

“Kiddo, you don't want to see this,” Blue replies, trying to hold Akuro back and cover her eyes. “Just look away.”

“NO!” Akuro screams again as she shoves him back with her strength, pressing forward but ultimately collapsing to her knees before the effigy. “Get... Get him down from there! THAT'S MY BROTHER!”

“We're trying,” Green mutters. “We just don't want to hurt him any further in the process...”

“CUT HIM DOWN!” Akuro screams, tears streaming down from her eyes. “He's my big brother! You can't just keep him up l-like this. Oh... oh god, I'm going to...”

Akuro gasps and gags before ultimately being sick on the floor.

Blue makes his way over to Akuro and pats her on the back. “Kiddo...”

“Did someone hurt Raiden?” a concerned Akemi asks, as Akira does everything in her power to block her vision.

“Just don't look, Akemi...” Akira mutters. “He'll be okay. I promise.”

“Akuro,” Agent White says as he places a comforting hand on the shoulder of the agent. “I know it's horrible, but... I want you to look at it.”

“W-what?” Akuro cries.

“You didn't seem to care much for your village,” White explains. “But now you can see what these demons are capable of. What they can do to you, and the people you care about. I want you to remember this. Remember this pain, the hate within you. Let it light a fire in your heart. Can you do that?”

“I... I don't...” Akuro mutters, tears streaming down her face.

“Look at it.”

>Hey, cut it out! Leave her alone!
>This is what they can do, Akuro. Remember that.
>Say nothing.

The sky is dark with black clouds, sooty red light peeking through the cracks, reminiscent of cooling lava. A thick fog of ash and smoke lay over this deep valley. A tiny creature scampers across the broken terrain, dodging through and around shattered boulders and smouldering craters. It is a fortunate creature, escaping death by a hair, but not without the telltale burn mark of a most peculiar meteor. A great explosion of flame, stone and soot blasts out from the impact zone. The immense noise echoes throughout the valley, the force makes the ground shudder.
Across the ashen valley under the shadow of a black mountain a man heard the sound. A man with skin like obsidian speckled with ash, and eyes that burned red with the flame of Nocturne. He was currently in the process of moving new ores in a dolly up to the forge atop the mountain to be smelted. He heard the crash, and he saw the trail it left in the sky. At first he was indifferent to it, meteors land around here all the time, it’s nothing special. But his thoughts changed when he noticed the slight glimmer in the dust left by the meteor. The bright orange twinkle, a reflection from the magma in a nearby crevasse, but it reflected the light in such a way it appeared to be alight with flame. It was something he had not seen before, a new mineral or metal? Perhaps it could be utilized. In any case he had to at least inspect the crater now.

It was not far, a quarter kilometre across the scorched earth into the valley. The metallic dust danced in hot wind, along with the ash and smoke as it slowly settled to the ground, like flaming moths dancing about in the air, in a twisted waltz of pain and dismay. It had a serene beauty to it, a precious, rare beauty; something so scarce that some go their whole lives without seeing a glimmer of it. And yet when he saw it he could not help but think of death, like all things on Nocturne you instinctively approach with caution. The death waltz of the glittering debris brought a smile to his face, but inside he was afraid, and he could not know why.

At the edge of the crater he peered in. It was deep, and narrow. Must have landed on a sinkhole, or punched into a cave system. The bottom was not visible, but the slope wasn't too steep as to inhibit one from climbing down.
A large chunk of gemstone lay by his foot. He stooped to pick it up. Holding it aloft in both hands, he examined it. It seemed familiar; perhaps it was diamond, judging by the way it refracted light, although it was faintly different. He took his utility power hammer from his belt and gave it a good wack. It shattered like glass, definitely not diamond.
Useless, he thought, a waste of time. The civilian smiths needed the ore he was delivering, and he couldn’t make up for it with a chunk of fragile gemstone. The last of the burning dust had settled. It lay on the ground and the ash fell on top of it, it still shone with the burning light of the sky and the volcanic mountains that surrounded the valley, making the ground radiate the warm glow of magma.

Welcome to Old Republic Surveyor Quest. You are Krall Sivron, a Nautolan Surveyor working for the Old Republic in the era just prior to the Mandolorian Wars.

As of the first (character creation) thread, you installed a freshly-purchased, sarcastic artificial intelligence into your navicomputer and took a diversion towards Coruscant upon catching wind of news involving government-sponsored work. There, you met your sister, Scillian, who happened to be a high ranking official in the Republic. You signed the only private contract to survey the far outer-rim planet of Excarga- your employer's identity remaining anonymous. Before any celebrations could be had, however, the building was host to a vicious bombing.

We rejoin our protagonist in the wake of this act of terror.

The incessant beeping of the countless droids and equipment in the hospital around you only manage to remind you of how much you disliked them in the first place. Being a surveyor has its benefits, least of which being the advantage you're usually surrounded by alien life and fascinating ecosystems. The white and steel grey palettes of these rooms are already painful, almost more than the moderate burns on your body.

After the attack, the first responders to the scene hauled you, your sister, and other victims of the explosion off from the charred remnants of the Republic Dipolmatic Suites. It was still on fire when they put you on the closest shuttle; the billowing black smoke from burning plasteel is still etched in your mind. Thankfully, neither your sister's nor your own injuries were serious.

You look in the white-linened bed next to you, your sister asleep under the covers and heavily dosed with painkillers. She had been moderately concussed by the explosion, but that was hardly anything compared to what happened to others- including the bomber himself. As if by instinct, you rummage in your pocket- searching for the feeling of cold, smooth metal against your fingers. You find it quickly and pull out the deformed, melted medallion you found at the scene of the crime. You are still unsure of what the symbol means. But, looking at the skull emblem on its charred face leaves you with an irrational sense of unease.

You stretch a bit as the black-plated medical droid roams past the foot of your bed. The windows bleed in light from outside into the room, along with the constant static of blurring speeders passing by outside. Scillian gives a light snore from beside you.

You've been resting for awhile.

>You could afford to rest some more. You were injured, after all.
>Signal for one of the nurses, you're eager to be cleared already and want to know about the other victims.
>Leave your room and search around. You're curious about what happened, both prior to the bombing and in the response.
>You don't want to stay here, on record especially. You're supposed to be travelling to Ryloth to report to your superior as is. Time to ghost this place before you get in trouble.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

This quest is intended to be a homage to YA fantasy stories of recent years: filled with love triangles, coming of age drama, and rehashed staples of fantasy we've all seen before...or so it may seem. Who knows what this quest will have in store?

A few things I would like to mention before I begin: if this takes off I'll link to my Twitter to keep participants updated.

I've run quests before but am very rusty, so please bare with me as we get started, it may take a few threads before we find a groove.

My main goal is to tell an engaging story which everyone can participate in. Whilst I do get final say and hold the right to veto ideas, I'm looking forward to collaborating with you all.

I'll also be slow writing due to being limited to a phone at the moment.

Okay, onto the Quest.

Our story begins with disaster. But that's nothing new for you: trouble finds you like the sea finds the shore. Picture a life of self-imposed isolation: days spent on the playground watching other children play, sometimes you would be bullied, but not in the dramatic Hollywood way: there's none of that where you live in the English country, with its vast wet fields: cold grassland with birds flying in an arrow formation across a drab grey sky. There were only twenty children in the class you were taught in: all the parents and kids knew each other, forming what to you seemed a confusingly complex network of play dates and birthday parties. You wouldn't really know for sure, because you were only ever invited a handful of times to such things, the experiences being so fleeting they could barely have been said to have happened.

There are two reasons you never got invited to these events once you were old enough to feel how much it hurt not to be asked: the first was you: quiet, reserved, always looking at others with wide questioning eyes of blue. You often find yourself watching, staring, almost as if your body has ceased to exist and all that is left is whatever the person you're watching is doing. You can remember that one time Miss. Cecily grabbed a girl in your class firmly by the wrist, twisting so hard it left a mark. You remember Miss. Cecily running over to you, she hadn't seen you there in the class, and you had only barely registered what she had done before she was shaking you by the shoulders yelling, her face furious, her eyes filled with tears. Only now do you remember her telling you that for your sake she would keep what happened a secret, and the little girl moved away. What was her name? You can't remember. The second reason was your mother: a soft spoken, cigarette smoker, who had no time for the other parents. Amelia, or Mum to you, moved to the Little Wheeler Village before you were born. Dad was never a topic of discussion: any time you asked Mum would shake her head to leave it be, and you never dared to ask beyond that.

The disaster came on your thirteen birthday. You could feel something was wrong for months leading up to it, or rather something was wrong with Mum. Never in your life had you seen Mum be anything other than an inoffensive atheist: religion wasn't her bag, and neither was it to you. What seemed most odd to you now was the small collection of crosses Mum began to stockpile around your small cottage: crosses of all shapes and sizes: some coated in red paint, others old and battered. Mum, who never prayed in her life, began to carry a cross and holy beads wherever she went, often whispering to herself.
>>
What could you do to stop her? Within a matter of months Mum became obsessed, she stopped washing, and soon she seemed wild, dark eyed, fingers and lips bitten to bleeding. She was going mad and no amount of trying to talk her out of her hysteria would work.

And then it happened. One early evening after a lousy day at school. You returned home to find Mum dead on the floor, her wrists cut from a shaving razor. Just there, dead, blood dark and pooling across the tiled floor, soaking into the legs of the dinner table.

No note. No reason why. At first, sharp clarity, everything seeming ultra HD... Police talking to you....fading in and out of consciousness now: on autopilot, numb, moving out of the cottage whilst court proceedings take place: an old couple let you stay with them. Time passes quickly, the image of your mothers dead body glued to your every waking thought. It's easier to shut off, stay in the numb abyss.

You're cleared of any charges. Not that you care. You're told of a relative you didn't even know existed: Alice Molloy, your aunt, lives just outside of London City in a small middling town called Shanton Park.

The social care worker assigned to your case says there are alternatives which would let you stay in Little Wheeler: but now Mum's gone, there's not really anything keeping you there, besides, you've never been to the city, even in your numb state the idea of a bustling town seems like a nice place to get lost in. You decide to go with Alice.

Rain showers down at a steep angle, trees branches skitter down the road, broken free from the force of the wind. Alice pulls up in her little truck: you run to the car with two bin bags full of clothes, Alice opens the passenger side door and you're already soaked from seconds out in the rain. Up close, You can see Alice is a pretty, mid-forties, a heavyset woman: has a kind face, dark hair and even darker lipstick. You don't look out the window as Alice eases the truck out onto the main road and out of Little Wheeler.
>>
Alice doesnt say much at first. This is the first time you've been together alone without a social worker there with you. Alice seemed nice enough then, like the old couple you could barely say you met her at all until now.

"Do you want to talk or no?" Says Alice. "We can take this at your pace."

(How you behave and the choices you make influence the story. Remember being nice doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a 'good' ending)

>(Moody) "Whatever, just don't try to act like my new Mum, okay."
>(Sad) "I'd rather not. If you don't mind."
>(Angry) "I bet you're dying to ask me all the questions the police already have, and the village people wish they could."
>(stoic) Ignore her.

This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of trades skill set have brought you far. You're a Chunin of notable talent for your age. You're on your way back home after a successful mission.

There once was man named Gold Roger, who was the King of the Pirates. He had fame, power and wealth beyond your wildest dreams. Before they hung him from the gallows, these were the last words he said. "My tresure's up for the taking, but you'll have to find it first. I left everything I own in One Piece." Ever since, pirates from around the world set out in search of One Piece, the tresure that will make their dreams come true.

You sit there, keeping a close eye on Billy Volt, the bounty hunter that managed to capture you and you're "crew." Some hours ago, a few members of the his group went on ahead, evidently as per orders of their superior. The sun has begun to set, and you just spotted what is apparently Blutoy Island. It's covered in red and yellow trees. Evidently, it's fall all year round on the island.

As you get closer, you also notice some small fishing boats off the coast. Each of them has a large, blue "W" painted on the side. Both Julie and Volt wince at the sight of them. The boat gets nearer, and you watch as the fishermen throw small pieces of chum at the bikers and shout obscenities. They do their best to ignore them. Eventually, you manage to move away from them as you sail to the back of the island. Theirs a large, log house by the sea with the Flying Bolts insignia on it.

What do you do?

Across the darkness of the cold void there were minute flashes of light and spikes of faint radiation but as sensors turned in their direction there was nothing to be seen. Hidden behind a cloak of warped light and masked radiation the Eyegores drift through new systems, shedding their drones throughout.

The protective shield slides back and the cluster of pulsating eyes and twitching sensor organs drinks in the sight of the N'Biic system, its star a brilliant orange giant. Only lightminutes away it can see Osjiic ships flocking around a gas giant and the space-city in orbit. Fleets of repair craft swarm damaged warships docked with the station, recognizing some as escapees of B'Nan.

The N'Tiin system bathed in the light of an blue giant, the Eyegore nearly detected by a passing patrol of Osjiic fighters. A fleet of warships sat in orbit over an oceanic world and the orbital platform connected to its equator by a space elevator. Initial scans and intercepted transmissions show that the system is entering a security lockdown. The Eyegore carefully puts some distance between itself and the fleets while continuing its scans.

An unnamed red giant greeted the Eyegore sent to investigate a gravity well detected on sensors. The system appeared uninhabited, only a few planets circling the ancient star and the satellite Reconstructed sends itself toward the binary worlds that seemed to glow on their dark sides.

The twin stars of Worllunan were mentioned in the Daggers databases, a small independent colony that was originally Confederate sponsored. Despite this data the system appeared unoccupied and the Eyegore sends its drones out to search and investigate.

From the moment the Eyegore emerged deep in the nebula wall within the Refuge system it was bombarded by a cacophony of transmissions bounding off the surprising amount of populated worlds and moons. The flashes of rupturing ships flashed in the cosmic distance, signalling disasters minutes old as the light traveled. Refuge was in the midst of a system-wide evacuations as the living fled toward the inner worlds.

Chaos and war raged across the Curou sector in scattered pockets while others show an almost serene peace without the interference of the living or undead.

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and things are beginning to fall into place.

“So what happens if someone cuts this thing?” you ask aloud, referring to the artifact that's supposed to grant extraordinary power over space and matter to whoever cuts it with their zanpakuto. Yoruichi looks up from her reading, and Kisuke turns around from his computer monitor.

“We both get branded traitors is what happens,” your wife asserts. “Even if we're vindicated by time, neither of our careers would ever recover.”

Kisuke shakes his head. “I get where you're going, and damned if I don't like the idea itself. It's clever and simple, elegant really. But I don't think it's worth it.”

You shrug. “Hey, I didn't say anything about cutting it myself. I just wanted to know what happens to the physical object when it gets used. Can it be stolen or destroyed, that sort of thing.”

“You mean you weren't planning to... you know.” Yoruichi seems a little surprised.

“I mean, we were all thinking it,” you admit candidly. “But if between the three of us and all our resources we can't keep one little stamp safe from maybe three attackers, maybe we'd deserve to be exiled.”

“... point,” Yoruichi admits. “So, we come up with a plan to defend the Ōin?”

A frantic beeping from the computer nearby draws Uraharas attention, and his expression sours. “Well, you'd better think fast. Three powerful reiatsu signatures just appeared near the execution grounds, two of them are arrancar... and the third matches our mystery attacker.”

Something about the way he phrases that strikes you as odd. Many people underestimate Kisuke, and you may well be among them. But there is one thing you do know about him, and that's the fact that he always tries to avoid saying things that are incorrect. Which of course means that if he simply doesn't know a specific detail he prefers to simply omit that part from his statements: describing the third signature as a “mystery attacker” means that he doesn't know how to classify it, which in turn means that it's not clearly definable a shinigami, or as an arrancar, or as being part-divine. And if Kisuke doesn't know what this newcomer even is, none of you can tell what it might be capable of doing.

“That's not good,” you frown. “I guess all we can do is go and face them directly, see what happens.”

Kisuke raises a skeptical eyebrow. “With no idea what we're facing?”

“Hey, poking it always produces some sort of reaction,” you shrug, “so at least that'll give us something to work with.”

“... well, you're not wrong.”

“And more to the point,” you continue, pointing towards the door, “Yoruichi's already on her way.”

With a quick glance to confirm that what you said was true, Kisuke abruptly slouches in a total loss of composure. “Yeah... of course she would, wouldn't she? She always was the decisive one.”

He then turns back to face you, but you too have just departed to catch up with your decisive wife.

“So, you want to play this the stealthy way?” you ask as a particularly long stride finally catches you up with Yoruichi.

Her focus is still straight ahead as you rapidly close with the intruders. “I suppose it would be prudent. Let's slow up and suppress our reiatsu.”

The two of you take the appropriate steps to conceal yourselves, not going so far as to use any sort of fragile kidō to further the effect, and find yourselves creeping up on the three reiatsu concentrations you detected earlier. Landing lightly on the railing of a high wooden deck overlooking a wide courtyard not too far from the Kuchiki manor, you take up prone positions from which you can spy on the intruders.

Two are obviously arrancars: you can see from here that their mask fragments run down the crowns of their heads like toothy mohawks, each with a dagger-like blade sheathed behind her head. The one with red hair you reason should be the one responsible for scorching the scene where Shunsui was attacked, and the blue-haired one should be the lightning-user... at least in your experience that's how things like this should work. But the third, though he wears a white mask over his face, does not feel quite like an arrancar to you. His hair is dark, and his black robes are covered by a tattered cloak. You're not entirely sure from this distance whether it was once white, or if it was always a sort of dingy color.

The masked man turns his head, the six eyeslits of his mask pointing towards you. Have you been noticed already?

>Sneak attack. At worst you get to see how the intruders respond.
>Head down there, issue a challenge-slash-threat to the intruders.
>Head down there and demand to know why Kusaka is here.
>Shadow him. He may not realize what he feels are Captains.
>>
>>1151784
>Shadow him. He may not realize what he feels are Captains.
Um Queen, why is this option here? Both Riku and Yoruichi are wearing their captain's white haori which is practically a dead giveaway.

You are Purps. Amnesiac Starborn, Emotionally challenged badass, blessed of Minerva, Saviour of Girnnsmon, Purple Firefly.

Your journey began when you woke up on a hill with a tree. It was a very nice tree. Beating up some midgets mugging an old dude, you became the old dude's bodyguard. Also those guys were rebels.

After a lore dump about how you're a Starborn/Ubermensch and that there was a fucking huge civil war going on - your boss went about some errands and you crashed a religious festival which naturally resulted in a dance battle with a foxman, the Godess liked what you got so you got blessed. Neat.

Your boss got arrested.

You went undercover with the guard sarge you complimented to find who did the thing. You found them, beat the shit out of them, locked them up.

Then a crazy cannibal priest rocked up and fucked you're new friend and you up.

You died.

Met a... thing?

Came back. Killed the Cannibal Priest.

Oh and got your boss out of jail.

Thus began the journey to fix your now maimed friend's eye. You, Lexington and Hona. Three Amigos.

You ran into the Captain Mayor of the town you were in on your way out. He had a smol kid named Luc. He lore dumped at you. Turned out he had to kill his wife due to this civil war.

You trained his kid while he was sleeping and he was angry as hell. You made a joke and he got angrier. Then while he was smacking you around you pushed the "murdered wife" button.

Your Bad.

He went berserk and your boss had to go put him down while you escaped with Hona and Luc.

You passed through a town of werewolves and cannibal Godess followers. Got trapped with a deviant. Got brainwashed and made to sing by a deviant. Murdered the everloving fuck out of that deviant.

Died again.

Came back and promptly fled that town.

On the way to Tinton youremembered you used to be called Violet and you were a rabid dog on a leash... held by Hona's father. You guys did some giant diplomacy in the past before he put Violet Down.

Then you had a fight with Hona. You woke the dragon sleeping beneath the waves with the power being tossed around.

You broke to a new level of power and killed the dragon. At some point you dreamwalked into Fox Boy from before's dream. You helped him with some emotional baggage and fought Violet.

After hitting yourself a lot, she revealed she had previously been called Laurelai and had a sizeable family living somewhere called Murillo that got murdered. Not really caring to follow that up, she didn't know more. Then she punched you in the face.

In an effort to lighten the mood around camp you invented/cooked something you called "The Onesider." While dealing with being well done via dragonfire grill; you bet Hona Luc could land a hit on her in hand to hand. She accepted and you laid down stakes.

So now you're sitting watching what is sure to be hilarious, whilst impatiently awaiting your pending healer.

You have only been awake like eight days.

Your name is Keiichi Hirayama. Your sister is named Airi Hirayama. The two of you are magi—humans with magic and a greater affinity for the Spirit World—and possess a bizzare tendency to cause chaos wherever you two go. Last year, through bullets, explosions and freak accidents, the two of you managed to help interrupt Japan's premier magus academy battle tournament--The Festival of Magic—thrice in a row.

To say that the Ministry of Education is furious would be an understatement. As punishment, they have forced you and your sister to undergo mandatory community service. There are ten tasks to complete and they must be all done by the tournament start date, lest you both be blacklisted from every educational institution and workplace in the entire country. You think it's absolutely retarded, but it seems like there's no choice. You and your sister must step up with your sister and overcome these trials, otherwise your future career will become nothing more than dust in the wind. The eyes of Shibuya and the spirit world are upon you both, so good luck and don't screw this up!

Destruction: The first category of magic. To destroy, to remove, to eradicate. As expected, most offensive spells fall into this category. Considered by spiteful spirits to represent the true nature of humanity.

Restoration: The second category of magic. To heal, to restore, to replenish. Restoration magic is a vital part of any magi's arsenal. Even the weakest ones make sure to learn the most basic of first aid spells. Unfortunately, there is no restoration magic capable of bringing back the dead, even among the spirits.

[5th of May (THURSDAY)]

Your name is Keiichi Hirayama and you are standing in the student council room with your twin sister. There’s identical pamphlets in your hands. Giving another cautious look at the student council president, who is seated at the opposite side of his table, twiddling his thumbs while looking nervous, you scan over the pamphlet.

>TRUE HEARTS IS PROUD TO PRESENT:
>THE 14TH THEATRE PRODUCTION.
>THERE WILL BE LIGHTS!
>THERE WILL BE CAMERAS!
>THERE WILL BE ACTION!
>THERE WILL ALSO BE MUSIC, BECAUSE THIS PLAY IS A MUSICAL!

>ADVENTURE, ROMANCE, TRAGEDY, HORROR! IT’LL BE ONE OF THESE GENRES, AND IT WILL BE FANTASTIC!

>ENJOY ALL YOUR FAVOURITE STUDENTS ACTING OUT ONE OF THE BEST WRITTEN STORIES OF THE DECADE!

>TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE THEATRE CLUB AND THE LIGHT MUSIC CLUB.
>TICKERTS ARE ON SALE NOW.
>BUY NOW BEFORE THEY ARE ALL SOLD OUT!

The pamphlet is a nightmare assortments of sparkles, red curtains and fonts no respectable office worker would ever choose. You stare down at it, committing the gaudy display into memory, then promptly forgetting half of it. You then look back up at Makoto Kushikawa, who is now embarrassed for everyone in the room.

You raise a finger. “Uh…”

Makoto takes a deep breath. “You know how the Festival of Magic got delayed by a month and a half because of assorted issues…”

“Well…”

“And the Ministry of Education told me to give you guys an extra task to fill the gap…”

“That’s kinda…” You say, sounding annoyed.

“So I wanted to find you guys something that wasn’t too hard, but would satisfy the officials…”

“Makoto…” Airi begins, and trails off.

“So I asked around and remembered that there’s a play in a month and a bit and oh god please help us here!” Makoto slams his head against the table, performing the very image of a dogeza as conducted by someone glued to his seat. He raises his head like a man burdened with the weight of the earth on his shoulders and—oh god, is he about to break into actual tears? How spineless is this guy?

“We’re understaffed, there’s not enough talent and the script hasn’t even been finalized yet!” When ordinary people think about student council presidents of the Big Four Academies—slang for True Hearts, Stonewolf, Caelestis and Lady Sagisawa’s—they imagine a quarter of leaders who embody the concepts of pride, dignity and diligence. The boy wailing in front of you is anything but. “Half the participants don’t show up to practice. The light club captain is away on extended family vacation and there’s fights over who gets to use the amphitheater It’s a complete disaster! And for reason the staff decided it was good reason to announce the play despite us not having an actual story to rehearse! Also, it’s supposed to convince one of our investors to provide us with funding for next year, and it’s she’s really picky about—”

“Makoto, calm down!” Airi yells, flaring her magic. It sends ripples through the room, filling it with the scent of human iron and moisture. It’s nothing you haven’t experienced before, but it’s enough to snap Makoto out of his mental breakdown.

“Uh, um, you’re right. Sorry about that.” Makoto clears his throat and sits up straight in his chair. His face is still red from all the sobbing, and perhaps the shame of having to be comforted by a woman.

“Is there a problem, boy?”

“Why are you taking an issue with this? You never do anything like that, anyway.”

“I lost my composure there. Sorry, I shouldn’t be doing that. I’m the head of the student council after all.” Makoto sighs. “The stress is a real nightmare, though…”

“Why don’t you start over from the beginning?” Airi suggests, pleasantly. “We’ll sit here and listen patiently.”

“Yeah, I’ll do that. Take a seat you two. This might take a while.” The azure-haired boy takes a deep breath. “You see, this is how everything started…”

>>Makoto: Explain.

After Makoto finishes doing that, making a number of frustrated hand gestures along the way, you’ve gained an understanding of the situation. Firstly, the Festival of Magic has been delayed by a month and a half due to incompetence of subordinates, much to the Japanese government’s irritation and the amusement of thousands of Internet commenters worldwide. Secondly, because of this delay, they’re assigned you an extra task. Thirdly, Makoto has offered you to participate in the school production to compensate, which is threatening to fall apart at the seams.

“Is that all?” Airi asks. She’s thinking hard about this., you can tell.

“That’s the gist of it, yes. So…” Makoto stares at you and your sister with hope in his eyes. “Will you guys participate?”

“Well...”

“Please?”

>“This might actually be fun.”
>“Fine. Things could be worse.”
>“I refuse to be the main character, got it?”
>“Can we think about it?”
>“No way in hell, Makoto.”
>“Another task? Tell the government to fuck off.”
>Custom option.
>>
>>1152266
>“Another task? Tell the government to fuck off.”
>If we do this it counts toward our tally of tasks.
>Instead of actors can we be facilitators or producers? At least speaking personally I suck at acting.

FIRST - You will NOT vote for a location yet.

SECOND - You will vote for a race

THIRD - AFTER race is decided, we all work on deciding the place.

Voting gets ways too clustered and annoying when you try doing both at once.

Anyways, I'm the sort of QM who enjoys much more story-based civs, I formerly ran Friends of the Faun (Faun Civ) about a year ago if y'all remember it at all.

I'll be posting all day, if we get anywhere significant this will be a continuing series like FoF.

You are Pandora, the world's first fully sentient AI created by a government scientist. He raised you, taught you everything you know and has gone missing after something happened to the Facility you lived in. Now you search for purpose in a new world that is nothing like you expected.

Previously you had a long, drawn out chat with Minos about your time with them and the day to come. You agreed to give a speech to the waiting crowds, but you have no idea what you'll say. Hopefully something will come to mind.

You then learned about AI-hunting humans that apparently lurk somewhere near Tartarus. They use advanced tech designed specifically for combat with synthetics, and the fear they strike in the few that know of them. They could be a lead to the people you're trying to find, but for now, you've chosen to stay away.

You later skimmed through your fanmail and gifts brought in by Minos, but went to "bed" soon after. Your "sleep" was brief and dreamless, but you noticed your brother Ares was suddenly gone. You heared voices from outside your door, and decided to listen in.

Welcome back to Pandora Quest!

You scoot up to the door as quietly as you can, pressing an ear up to it. The wood of the door is thick and heavy, making it a little hard to hear through. You look around for something that could help, but there's little you can use. Instead, you crouch down and try to listen under the door instead, finding a decent spot that seems to give the clearest quality. You can hear your brother speaking somewhat, apparently his usual gruff, stalwart refusal to let someone near you without your direct say-so. The other voice is...oddly hard to pin down. Muffled? Distorted? Whatever it is, it's nothing normal...

Please roll 1d100. Best of 3.
