If you just have a point and shoot camera you will end up having to learn the difference between these settings because they are the only way you have any control over the camera settings. Portrait and Landscape have different depths of field, for instance.

sometimes weird things happen inside companies. it could be that they wanted into the markets DJI sells to, or that they wanted DJI's technology, or that they thought DJI would compliment their present offerings.

As far as i understand formalism it's all about the contrast of colours, shapes and space. If you want i could try and dump a bunch of instagrams that i feel fit into this category.
