you need to work on your editing ability knowing when to cut and how to cut is a very important skill to learn. In your case watch a shit ton of documentaries of all forms and topics, take note on how they can deliver a narrative.
work on framing, get a tripod or monopod and start with learning about montage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYedfenQ_Mw)
Hello,
I absolutely need this picture without the the people in the foreground. All the people in the background can stay. The two guys in the white shirts at the right hand can also stay.
This photo has a very special meaning for me. Is someone so lovely to remove the people in the foreground for me?! I also tried to removed them, but failed all time.
I know lots of people make fun with a photoshop wish, it is also okay, but please give me a photo with my wish as well.
Thank you
>>2991504
you should really just retake the photo as a long exposure or without so many people in the foreground.
it's difficult to remove such large aspects of the photo because there isn't information behind these foreground subjects making removing them very time consuming, this is why it's better to get things right when taking the photo so you only have to make slight changes...removing several people in the foreground of a photo basically means rebuilding half of the photo from nothing
1. Fuck off
2. Go torrent photoshop it's not hard to learn
3. The photo is shitty anyways try again
Hi /p/,
Critique my favorite shots of a trip I recently took to Big Bend National Park, Texas. Be absolutely brutal, I'm a newbie who wants to get better. Shots are in order of most favorite to meh.
----
Shot everything in manual (Canon Rebel T5, kit lense). Goal was to keep aperture up to get the largest depth of field of the mountains/rocks/etc. No tripod.
I did cropping and very minor editing in GIMP, nothing fancy.

My Girlfriends birthday is coming up, we're both freshmen in college and one of the things I want to get her is a polaroid camera (for the obvious reason of college girls liking photos) which one would /p/ recommend?

Polaroid don't make film any more.
I got a decent camera recently and my family asked me to shoot them for a day (because of some celebration). Now, I don't know much about taking photos yet and this isn't THAT important (also why they asked me) but I still want to make it somewhat decent. I got canon 700D. What are some quick tips about shooting I can learn pretty quick?
read the sticky
make sure there's enough light in the right place (i.e. not shining in their eyes or making unflattering shadows)
If you're out expose for them not the background. I'm guessing you're using a kit lens, so set you're aperture to 5.6 and keep it there then you will have the same exposure for all shots. I would put centre focusing on and focus for the eyes of you're subject always to stop the camera from choosing the background. You can go as low as 1/50th probably if you have steady enough hands. Maybe max of iso 400 to reduce noise. If you're shooting a single subject I.e close into the face then for the best bokeh possible zoom out to 55mm and 5.6f. If the background is distant enough you should get decent bokeh. I recommend getting a 35mm prime. If you're going to use a flash try to use it only for a fill in flash. (expose for background then subject infront using manual TTF mode)
Above all. Learn and have fun. Idk if any of that helps
0) See this as an opportunity to learn and grow
1) Consider getting the 50mm f/1.8. It's the cheapest lens you can buy and it will greatly improve your people photos. If you shoot it at 1.8 and place the focus point dead in someone's eye, you'll get normalfag-pleasing shots no matter what else you're doing wrong
2) Learn the basics of exposure on Youtube: The exposure triangle, how the camera meters, reading the hisotgram, and how to do exposure compensation.
3) Shoot people in shade . Avoid shooting people facing the sun. Try to compose your shots so that the background does not interfere with the subject, even if blurred (at the time, you won't be able to tell how stupid that branch growing out of your mother's head is, because you have a three-dimensional understanding of the scene, but the next day the picutre will look ridiculous) This won't get you great photos, but again, they're easy tricks with good return for a complete beginner
Look up the rule of thirds, shallow depth of field, and backlighting
I have a question regarding the DG series of lenses, I'm planning on purchasing a Sigma art DG lens but I currently shoot with a D7000 which isn't full frame, I was just wondering could I still use the lens to the full potential or should I upgrade my body too?
use the gear thread you retard
>>2988870
Obviously I'm new, retard.
>>2988871
read the sticky use the gear thread delete this thread next time
on crop it'll be around a 30mm lens. It'll be just as sharp and let in just as much light
I want to take candid photos on a trip of my friends mostly. That and wide shots too (which could require a different lens).
I have a canon.
I took a quick look and was looking at either:
less than f/2
35mm for street shots, 50mm for portraits.
Regardless of budget, what are good city/night/streets lens?
Pls don't shoot candids of your friends. It's alright to ask them to pose. They don't even have to look at the camera.
>>2988833
you can either get a uwa, like 8 or 12mm f/2.0 or 2.8 and bite the distortion but have everything in focus or a 50 1.2 and have less noise and no distortion but at that aperture at night half of your shots will be out of focus
>>2988833
Okay then, you asked for it, you got it.
>Regardless of budget, what are good city/night/streets lens?
24mm f1.4 L II
35mm f2 IS USM.
50mm f1.4
85mm f1.4 Zeiss adapted to EF or 1.4 ZE You're going to have to man up and learn to focus for this one.
You might just want to let people know if you're shooting APS-C or FF next time, or if you're looking for equivalents. Either way every lens listed will do what you need for APS-C too just one stop down apart from the 85mm.
Can anyone recommend any good websites where you can actually see a lot of photos? Instagram is shite, no one posts anything here anymore and I don't want anything that is subscriber based, just something with quality stuff that is on some kind of a global feed
need some inspiration and I can't find anything decent
Thanks

hey guys ,
I haven't seen a appropriate thread so I'm gonna make a new one.
if it dose belonge somewhere else feel free to redirect me.
first of , this is a serious thread, no joke.
I want to take sexy pictures of my gf and would like to use this and nail the jav porn aesthetic but I'm open to other styles as well.
I usually don't really shot people so I tried to look at stuff I like and thought about the technical aspects.
I shoot a fuji x20 and would shoot it as wide as possible while genereally going for close ups to emphasise roundness and mass.
I think many of those jav guys use ring flashes.
I never worked with one , are they essentail ?
if not do you think the built in flash would suffice

You need more lights to get the JAV cover aesthetics.
But they often also use ring effects in the eyes of their models, yes.
I'd suggest doing that with a ring diffuser with a portable flash inside, the related diffusers are like $20-30 shipped from China. A bit cumbersome, yes, but unlike cheap ring flashes you get sufficient light output.
For an actually powerful ring flash, you'll have to shell out more dough.
>>2988721
great, thanks for the input
>>2988714
JAV porn aesthetics is more like VHS or cheap miniDV camcorder aesthetics. I think you want more in the lines of Gravure style photos. Like the other anon said, you want multiple diffuse lights.
post some epic behind-the-scenes guise

curious as well, I love the fisheye / zoom
>>2988637

Nope, aside from just being some garbage '90s camcorder with a fisheye adapter.
> any good alternatives
Yeah, any decent camera from the 21st century instead of lo-fi trash that anybody over 18 got sick of after using their parents' cameras as kids.
It's a VX1000. The VX2000 or VX2100 were a lot sharper and crisper than that.

I received a rokinon 14mm e mount lens as an early Christmas gift. I own a Sony a6300. I would like to use a metabones speed booster with the lens to gain an extra stop and a wider angle. However, I do not see any speed bosters that take an e mount lens and screw onto an e mount body. Am i missing something? Thanks in advance!
