does anybody photograph trees without leaves at night from a road/landscape view with nice exposure? I really love looking out the window while driving at night into the winter forests. if somebody has pictures that kind of capture that, I would appreciate it

Is the D7200 any good for a beginner? What issues does it have? The D7100 doesn't do good enough low light I heard.
>>
How important is full-frame for wedding photography? I know it's a notch better (especially in darker situations), but is it really a must-have thing?
>>
>>2988832
Doesn't really matter what camera a beginner uses, the important thing is that they learn how to control exposure through whatever means they have available. The D7200 is an excellent camera that doesn't need to be upgraded for a while though.

The two cameras are effectively the same, minus minor changes to the sensor and AF, and a usably large buffer on the D7200. The D7200 has slightly better low light AF, the D7100 bands when pushing shadows past +4EV.

>>2988835
Wedding photography comprises shooting in multiple and varying locations and conditions. Your tool of choice needs to be versatile and capable. You need to move up the chain to get those kinds of cameras, and they invariably get expensive enough that you might as well get a full frame camera.

This suggests you don't know what the histogram actually is. Google that. You'll find a guide that will probably also explain a few use cases like the ones you gave

Considering selling all my gear for a single compact camera. Is this a bad idea? When I went from the t3i to a6000 I went out to shoot way more. Even with the a600 though I still find myself not wanting to haul it around. I never bring it when I'm just hanging out with friends or just out and about. If I had a decent compact, I'd probably bring it with me 99% of the time. Plus they're great for shooting video for vlogs and random shit. My main concern is I'm unsure about the significance of the quality drop. Thoughts?

This. Also you have some underlying psychological issues if you arent comfortable taking a big camera with you in public.

Kind of saw it coming. It's a shame though because Kai and Lok sort of balanced each other out, and Kai has been off in England doing his own thing for like a year, so now there's just Lok and a couple of other awkward dudes who constantly talk over each other.

He sounds like he's got a lot of energy right now. Let's see how well it translates into his new videos.

Hey p.

sorry right away if I fucked up making this thread.

I was recently gifted a Canon 400d, with a sigma 18-200mm lens.
It has always been my dream to make memories through photos, and now that it has literally dropped in my hands as a gift, i'd like to start working on it.
I just don't know where to start, and how to get better at it. Obviously, snapping and snapping and snapping is gonna give some result, but i'm also looking for material that is usable to me and is easily understandable.

I also don't know anything about lens gear. Apparently, the lens I have is meant for outdoor photography, so I plan on getting a 50mm f1.4one as that was been recommended for me three times (within the price range I specified)

I truly am not snobby when it comes to walking around with a camera, I love manually tweaking it , snapping, and see what I get. I more so now realised that so much of the stuff that happens goes into mist. With photos, i wanna try and preserve is as much as possible.

I'd appreciate any help for a starter photographer.

Picture related, a pic I took last night.

same place, different lighting.

I know it somewhat has a bigger impact on the camera that I am using, but i always try to get the focus right, adjust and tweak the iso and shutter to get the best stuff possible.

I know it's nowhere as good as the stuff I see posted here, but i wanna learn!

i know it's not the best stuff possible, and when I get home and sift through 600 photos, I realise there's only 10 that I like.

I also don't know how to use photoshop, so that's also a thing.

Hello, everyone. I've been into photography for about 2 years now, mostly using my phone's camera since I don't have much money, but today I finally managed to save up enough money to get myself this pack, a Canon 700D. I have little knowledge of cameras and how they work in general. I've been reading about Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed on the sticky, and I was wondering if anyone has any extra info or just some topics to check out on the wiki itself. Any help is appreciated. If you're interested, I can also drop a couple of photos I took with my phone.

Thank you for your time and I hope you have a wonderful christmas.

If you are in the U.S.Community college photo classes are a great inexpensive way to learn a lot. Other than that the main thing to understand is the relationship between ISO shutter speed and aperture. Start by reading about the "Sunny 16 Rule "
Also congratulations on your camera purchase I hope you have fun learning and a merry/happy Christmas to you too

Hahaha, le pire endroit pour acheter du matériel!
The 700D is an okay camera, but a bit cumbersome for beginners. A GF3 or a Sony A6000 are better starters camera has they let you preview the way your shots will look like.
Congrats on not buying a 760D, wich is far better with its lcd top-screen and additionnal buttons.

Si tu est sur Paris, je te recommande de trouver un groupe photo sur Meetup.com. Noyeux Joël anon!

I usually bring wine and a cheese and fruit tray to shoots to help the models relax. This one I'm thinking pizza and beer.
