getting raped by squatters is half the fun of "urban exploration"
>>2996373
just did upstate NY to Detroit and back. I'm not an urbex guy but almost all the open abandoned homes in Detroit had squatters. Jefferson Chalmers and Mexicantown were just pure gnar. The Packard factory is home to what my local assistant called "Detroit Diamonds", shattered windows. People just hang out around the corner waiting for people to go in and jack shit out of the car all day long. Never saw DPD.
Cleveland was similar but a bit more populated and with more foot traffic for similar weather so it was a bit easier to work.
Pittsburgh was cool. If I was an urbex shooter, Pittsburgh would be my first stop. Lots of industry, not a lot of squatters.
If you just want abandoned homes, rural areas are also very good. I've done some good images in old barns and abandoned homes in the Finger Lakes/Otsego Lake area of upstate NY. Almost 0% chance of squatters once you're 4+ miles from gas stations or post offices. My number one thing if there are cars in the vicinity that look abandoned is to check the license plate registration sticker. Is it valid or expired last year? Possibly still in use and someone mulling around.

Hi, you know of good video editing software? (Free or hacker)
I've heard good things about adobe premiere

Thank dude, you have some free sauce for me?
>>2996182
Naturally you should buy it from Adobe via their legitimate website.
Welcome to /p/ - I am the leader of these people. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
Where was /p/ during the 2017 film comeback?

If it happens that'll be cool. I dont shoot much slide film because I dev everything at home and haven't done e-6 before, but I'm all for more options.
Wish they had brought back PX instead.

It used to make sense when /p/ was hosted on one of the slow servers reserved for low traffic boards, but that was like seven years ago.
Now people just repeat it like particularly stupid parrots because muh board culture.
>>2995399
It started out when the servers were shit and people from other countries had loading issues, but it came to make sense from the perspective that 99.4% of photographs don't need to be bigger than 1000px to judge if they're good enough - and the ones that do are a mere request away from a high-res repost.
tl;dr if your shit doesn't look good at 1000px it's not going to look good at 6000px - so stop complaining and get gud.

How's that 365 project you started for the New Year coming along? Still keeping it up?
You know you should be taking at least one serious photo a day, right? Or are you still blaming your lack of progress on gear?

i blame my lack of progress (im decent, always room to improve) on my own laziness and lack of interesting locations. i prefer to find inspiration in my surroundings rather than force myself to take pictures of something i find boring.

So I read on that other website that converting movies shot on film to 4K is easy because even 35mm is vastly higher resolution than most digital cameras. To that end I got some 35mm film, a good Canon body and shot some photos, developed them and scanned them with a pretty mid to high end film scanner from Epson and they just kind of suck. I don't mean composition wise, I mean quality wise, they're super grainy and fuzzy. How on Earth is 35mm supposed to beat digital?
>>2990439
Where the hell did you read that?
A good negative film like, say portra 160 (which is manufactured to be scanned) or slide film exposed correctly, photos taken with a good lens, scanned with a noritsu or drum scan might be on the level of a medium format, but scanning cheap film with an epson shatbed will get you the results you got.
Also
>Good canon body
The result, even more on 35mm film than on digital is dictated by the quality of your glass.
>>2990439
35mm is equal to about 12 megapixels of resolution. Far more than your standard "full HD" camera of about 2 megapixels, but also noticeably less than your average 24+ mp. Dslr.
>How on Earth is 35mm supposed to beat digital?
This is why you don't listen to shit on the internet.
Hello /p/,
How do i get soft tones like those on the sand and black hills in the center of the picture.

Unfortuneatly, No.
>>2998947
have you tried some S in RGB tone curves, add saturation Oranges and blue, remove saturation from yellows, green and red, change Hue from blue, yellow, orange, green, red, and magenta?
So here is a fun one.
I ordered a Mavic Pro, was frustrated at the wait time for shipping then canceled. I was refunded my money, and then decided It would be worth it and I was a big boy now and could wait. Anyways, the payment is marked as complete and the item marked as shipped, yet I still have all my money in my bank account....
what do?
wait to see if it will actually arrive?
>>2998900
:3 but... is that possible in such a cruel world?
If it arrives and i spend the money can they come after me?
