Any Americans ever bring a handgun across the Canadian border? I'm going on a trip through the NW and plan on going into Canada for a few days, and I plan on entering and exiting at different places so leaving it at the border would be a pain. I am reading that you have to fill out some forms but how much of a PITA is it and how does it work when you cross, are the border guards shitty about it? The gun is a Glock 20, I have a 10 round mag for it.

>>
Handguns are restricted in canada. If you somehow actually get approved to bring it, you will only be allowed to use it at a range.
>>
You need to ask yourself if you REALLY need that gun for a few days. Pistols are restricted as fuck in Canada, if you get caught you have very good chances to end up in jail. Tbh telling the police that you only needed it for a few days makes you look like a hitman.

yea you should listen to these guys OP
if its in any way possible to leave the handgun home, you should do that

I saw a cuckoo laying on open ground on a woodland path today. I had a dog with me (dumbass ran right past the bird and didn't even see it), but it made no attempt at resistance or try to flee, it just sat there opening and closing its mouth while making no sound.

It didn't try to run when I made a little makeshift stretcher out of a few branches and lifted it to a relatively slightly safer place in a nearby tree. It flinched when I first touched it and looked at me with clear eyes, but it didn't do a single move to get to safety. It just kept opening and closing its mouth.

I don't go on /out/ but I didn't know where else to ask, so I ask here.

Does anyone know what was wrong with that bird? Was it okay, was it dying? Was it in pain, would it have been more mercy to kill it?

Picture unrelated.

I've seen birds like this, usually blackbirds. My guess is they're young and don't have the fly away reflex. Sounds like you did right, but I wonder if it'll be able to feed itself. It sounds like it's relying on being fed.

Hey 4chan, im a newfag but ive got some questions for the campers on here, like what do you need for most trips and are animals a constant threat? Also people seem fairly fearfull of something called a skinwalker, can someone explain that to me?

Skin walkers usually leave markers inna woods. Where I live they make sort of a warning fences that block trails they don't want you on. I just stay away.

I want to get out of the system. I come from a family of hunters and farmers and i think i can do it. I thought about argentinia or nz.
Where would you guys go?

Why get out of the system?
Where along in "the system" are you?
Isn't saving money in a 50k per year job while living cheap and minimalist for 2-3 years prefferably than moving to the wilderness with no money?

Imagine going on your adventure, but you have $25,000 saved up to spend on preparations.
Your question is very vague, we need more information.

well farming is huge here in NZ, and our gun laws are more relaxed than Argentina's (probably hunting laws in general too, but I am not familiar with Argentina's hunting laws)

I recently picked it up after seeing a bunch of courses on the parks I was hiking.

I play a lot of ultimate, and I thought I'd like disc golf. Not a fan of the discs, but I like the idea. I've gone to a couple courses with buddies but we just play with a regular 175 gram Ultimate disc

similar background here, I wish someone could explain to me how the disks work, because I honestly throw every disk the same, be it a putter, mid-ranged, or driver, they all end up in the same spot

Alright /out/ I am at that point where a day pack is not cutting a 70L is overkill. I am looking for a solid pack around 45L with an internal frame, for 1-2 night trips that i can comfortably hike in.

background--

I am 5'8-5'9 depending on the day and 34-36 pants size depending on the meal.

I like to keep my weight down in the pack but I also drink a ton of water and I am trying to get the special lady friend to appreciate being innawoods so I want to make her life easy so ill be carrying a little extra weight to keep her comfortable.
I has to have a good place on it for sleeping bag and pad and tent. (i have been shocked in my research how many packs hold sticks but do not mention anything about a tent.

i would prefer external place to put my hatchet

i am not a prosumer, survivalist, or tactical extreme person. I just like a good hike to a lonely site.

i have a few bags in mind (pic related), and traditionally mountain hardware is great for shortys like me-- I tried on a marmot that two of my friends recommended and while it fit, it felt like it was made for 6'3 guy with a 30in waist
any recommendations, experiences, etc would be greatly appreciated. i think ive narrowed it down but i just want to make sure i am not missing anything

I haven't mowed a lawn since I was a teenager. It was good work back when i was a kid. And if any neighborhood kid offered to do it I would gladly pay him. But at this point in my life all my lawncare is done by an intrepid group of young mexicans.

I would much rather pay the $20/wk than waste my whole Saturday afternoon instead of fishing.

Plus they do a better job edging and all that stuff.
>>
>>791861
My mexicans are 30 per week but these fuckers are good. Mowing, trimming, they even tried to tend the flowers until my wife told them to stop. I don't even have to put my dog inside anymore if these wetbacks tried to rob me my dog would lick them to death.

I really wish a neighborhood kid would offer to do it. I got paid 10$ a yard when i was a kid and it bought me my first car. Even if he was shit and i had to trim it up i would gladly pay a kid to do it. But for now i have my mexicans.

You can't tell from the pic, but there are probably 175-200 chile plants in those beds. They should have been ~6" tall by now, but I had the weedpocalypse you see in the upper pic. The nice thing is, they wouldn't be producing until about August anyway, because average daily highs in July are high enough to halt fruit production in them, so I probably didn't lose as much as I thought.

It got that bad because we got double our average rain last year, and accordingly, double our average weed seed this year, and I've had to take care of my mother she had a major surgery.

Of course, I managed to get the time to do that on days that it was pushing record highs. One-oh-fucking-three degrees is what it hit at my house today.

Next up: Getting the grass out of the corn, then getting the creeping spurge out of everything, then the pigweed, lambs quarter, etc... I think I have a month's worth of weeding to do this weekend.

Hi /out/. These delicious little fuckers are almost ripe and they grow everywhere. This year I want to pick and store a bunch of them. Best ways to do this? I was going to wash them with water in a colander and put them in jars, but I feel this won't remove all the bugs and they'll be bad within a few weeks.
