Are you serious, is it poisonous?
I just bought a Mora Bushcraft knife for trapping and light camping uses. Did I do good?
can be rough on the hands if you unconciously put your fingers on the spine if you are not used to it.
also, make sure you dont get pine resin on the handle, for the love of the gods dont get pine resin on the handle.
also beware of the rubber where it meets the plastic towards the blade at the choil,
Friendly reminder to get vaccinated against ticks before going camping into the woods
>>795185
Is it that rubbery? I've seen a lot of reviews and it looked like a pretty durable knife. Saw some guys batoning with it even. I just needed a good knife for making traps.
So what is this plant here? Found it on a neighbor's lawn and was quite curious.
Is it some type of wheat grass?
Help me /out/ guys

>tfw Hump Day
Only 2 more days til the weekend.
Talk about fishin'
Can we talk about gimmick lures? Is there anything currently out there that is expensive and shiller hard like the LiveTargets or Livingstons that are actually worth the money?
going to go out tomorrow with little cousin , and if i get the ok from his parents we will be going out in kayaks, Maybe il be able to get him a few bass and maybe a big one
>>794406
>saltwater fishing

for people who have never been to florida, THIS is why you don't go into the water at night, especially your kids....geez
of course now they will probably try to find it and execute it, just for being a wild animal, living in its natural habitat, doing what gators do
>>794380
Gators are pretty chill tbqhwy. I think more people need gators and everybody would be safer.
>>794380
Betcha 9/11 that kid was feeding the alligator.
What's your trail name, sc/out/s?
The Velvet Pussyfoot
I can understand why you wouldn't want to give out your real name to a bunch of strangers you meet in the woods miles away from anywhere, but I think the idea of giving yourself some tryhard hipster name is just lame. I guess the idea is to have some sort of instant culture that can allow you to quickly form friendship bonds with strangers? "Ha ha! You did/said some unremarkable thing! Your trail name is _______ now! We're friends now, right?"
Then again the whole reason I like hiking is because I'm a misanthrope who wants to get the hell away from people, not meet more of them.
>>793493
I hereby name you... Misanthropic Mozzie
Well lads , not really out related but the Mrs and I have made the decision to move out of the city to get a little small holding going. We are thinking a few acres to keep a few pigs and chickens. Grow our own fruit and veg etc.
Looking for other sc/out/s opinions on what is the best option.
We are thijking either rent a house with a few acres or buy a few acres and build on it ourselves.
With the purchasing of land tho we would need to be really frugral on the building of a house, so we are thinking log cabin or container build
What would out do?
>>793363
You are just as likely to get cucked in the country and this time it's worse because everyone you know will find out and you have to see the guy whenever you into town for supplies.
This will not solve your marriage problems
What biome and climate? Dictates appropriate structure type ,, log cabins aren't suited to everywhere
>>793363
If you rent and decide it's not for you you can walk away.
The biggest hassle with building non-traditional is by-laws and building codes. (also fuck container builds)
Remember you won't be able to raise chickens or pigs for less than to buy them at the grocery store (although yours will obviously be better quality) but taking vacation time away when you have animals is a special kind of head ache. I moved into the country, we have ducks and chickens, and we built our own house AMA.
What kind of mushrooms are they? Anyone with experience?
Magic
>>793314
Are they? I'm Not sure i took them because they were looking like some
>>793317
Man, I'm just messing, I have no idea. Although, I think magic mushrooms bruise blue where they have been picked iirc
Do you guys usually masturbate when you go /out/? I find that there's nothing better after a long day of hiking to masturbate under the stars by a warm campfire in the great outdoors.
>>793171
I get paranoid about stroking my dick if my hands are dirty and haven't been washed fairly well recently, or sanitized. Do you really want to be THAT guy who gets a dick amoeba from jerking off after being in a stream?
>>793171
I have a thing for fit girls in yoga pants without makeup. So backpacking always makes me horny.
>>793171
Sure, nature gets my dick hard.
MGTOW general/ colony planning
I know lots of you are getting excited about taking the next step forward. Let's discuss possible states for our compound.
We come from a variety of backgrounds
and are all going wherever we want doing our own thing. Some are virgins some slay pussy some are young some are old experienced or not but here that matters not because to be a slave to diseased roasties and notions of female decenthood is a waste of time.a and we are men.
Ignore the cucks, betas and roasties who are not worthy of your time.
Pic related, a few determined men built this
As far as states I think we need to avoid zika so Pacific Northwest, Montana or Wyoming would work. Additional benefits for these states is cheap land, low crime, low diversity and available water. If we secure a water right that could be cashed in in 10 years for big profit.
We will eat really well. Rainbow hippies do this on a zero budget. I think it's important to move to a state with liberal welfare since many of us are neets. If you get $200 in food stamps every month you won't tax our group but the normies and you will be well nourished for manual labor for our good. That's the key to this working. Cash incomes of $5,000 to $10,000 should be enough if we invest time and effort to fortify our compound.
-men want to be validated, to feel relevant, meritorious, worthy, responsible, like he says
-when men feel disconnected from reality, non-worthy, they think of suicide
-men understand that other men are just as pathetic as them
-therefore men cannot be validated by other men, but by something that is not male
-men want therefore to be validated by
--women
--higher men who do not feel the need to be validated
-higher men are rare
-women are not rare
-how to be validated, to be noticed by cumdumpsters?
-women are hedonistic, which means they are egotistic and what feeds their ego is their pleasures.
-therefore, to be noticed by women, men love to try to please women
-how to please tramps?
-women love sex and money
-women love to love sex and money
-- therefore men give them money and sex FOR FREE
-men understand then that other men give money and sex to the same woman.
-men understand that women LOVE to have plenty of lovers
-men understand that women DESPISE poor &/or ugly men SINCE those men cannot feed her hedonism
-most men remain unvalidated, unnoticed and whine >no gf
-women compete with other to get the best men
-most women always get what they want from men, even a solid decade after their menopause. EACH girl KNOWS that, in her life, there will ALWAYS be one man more dedicated to her than to any other girl.
-women want sex, as said, but equally to be entertained outside the bedroom (which cost money)
-the goal of the girl is to get the best man who will focus on her for a very long time
-no such man exists, so she will seek men who satisfy her through sex and other men who satisfy her through comfort
-men being worms, they build various strategies to provide for women
-men being worms, they attempt to avoid passing for worms in saying ''women are sluts and useless''
the fact is that women are smarter than worms, and worms despises this. they will say that any other woman which is not their /true one/wife-gf/oneitis is a whore out of bitterness.
Hello friends, EMT with too much free time. I posted a first aid thread a few months ago and I figured I'd do the same!
Feel free to:
Post your first aid kits, and I'll rate them and give you advise.
Ask questions, and I'll answer them.
Recommended items in every first aid kit include
Trauma
>4x4 gauze
>roll gauze/kling
>cravats/triangular bandages
>SAM splints
>Tourniquet
>Medical tape
>Antiseptic of choice. Recommend you bring a small bottle of Isopropyl alcohol, or if tight on space/weight to bring alcohol wipes.
>If possible
Meds/Medical
>ibuprofen/acetaminophen. Your choice.
>Your prescription meds
>Whatever you take at home
Misc/tools
>Something to cut bandages. Preferably shears, but something lighter will also do.
>Water
>More water
>Even more water
The list above is likely incomplete. Feel free to add your thoughts/ideas/additions, and to call me a retard.
>>791883
In your experience, do you end up using tourniquets in pairs, or usually just one?
>>791883
Did you ever perfect the Knorr dishes?
Are you gonna go for paramedic someday or is it too much BS? I got an EMT friend who's on the fence about entering paramedic training because it's such a big committment

>Yellowstone visitor, 23, who died after wandering off designated trail and falling into acidic hot spring that dissolved his entire body
>Scott recently graduated summa cum laude from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon
>Scott and his sister Sable had traveled about 225 yards off the boardwalk on Tuesday when he slipped and fell into the hot spring in the Norris Geyser Basin.

I don't know if this is the appropriate board, but /out/ seemed like the best place to ask.
Do you have to be dive certified to go on a dive tour? Like I'm trying to go to the Virgin Islands in July. And I was hoping to just go on a day dive or whatever with a local shop on a tour. Would I have to be certified to do that, even though I would have a instructor/guide in the water with me the whole time?
>>785600
Last year during the summer vacances I tried to do it but the guys there didn't let me do it because I had zero training, even though I'm in good shape and can swim pretty well. It was a fucking bummer but well at least I still got to see a shark that came swimming to the shore.
While I cannot answer your question directly, as a former diver I can highly advise that you get beginners experience and at least certify in something before you go. My first open water ocean dive was one I'll never forget but if I were an inexperienced diver on vacation, it would have been a whole different experience.
>>785600
Some dive shops will let you do a quick intro course and then you go dive. You don't get certified, but it's a good way to get a taste.
I've only ever really seen that in Mexico though, so you may be SOL
Can /o/ recommend me a small hatchet?
