Still kinda a newfag here, so bear with. I really want something that can put up numbers without killing me insurance wise. MX5s are ok, but I want something that has the structural advantage of a coupe...and of course, being in the UK, insurance is the main problem. I have considered getting a car that will for solely track/drift use, but I don't know where I could put it/if my parents would let me.
E46 330ci ZHP. 230hp, Fast, 2 door, toss-able and has back seats for insurance purposes.
No such car exists, if it did it would immediately be ruined.

Why do teenagers think there is one weird trick that will allow them to outsmart insurance companies?

Hey o. I recently had a professional auto shop do a full inspection on my 99' Corolla, and figured today would be the day I start doing all my work myself.
This is what I got back from them, but I figured I'd just do the wheel bearing/hub and front pads/rotors right now. Gonna do some more research then pick up parts. Any info or suggestions would be helpful, thank you.
>>16042722
Phone needs fixing too
op, you're kinda fucked
I'd just let them do all of it tbqh
>>16042751
I looked up how to replace the wheel bearing
I don't have any of the tools to do it so you're probably right . .
Is /o/ missing something or am I?
> 2012/2013 Impala
> LFX V6, 302hp, 6 speed
> trunk for days
> cheap maintenance (made from the most common parts in north america)
> will last 300k even if treated like a ginger stepchild
> easily found for under 10k
With gas prices this low, why would anyone buy an econobox when you can have so much more for the same price?
I rented one a few times and was surprised by how much I liked it despite not exactly being a fan of FWD sedan shitboxes. Interior is simple, comfy and well made and that generation is reasonably reliable from what I hear.
Could benefit from a V8 and RWD though.

I mean I guess if you want to drive a glorified New York taxi around every day.
It breaks my heart that the V4 engine never took off in cars.

>>16042629
Are there any significant downsides on it or is it untapped potential?
I know the 919 lemans racecar has a V4 and it's pretty good.
>>16042642
Pros: engine could be shorter due to not-in-line cylinders.
easier to add a supercharger
Cons:
there's more work to be done in the factory if you have a "V" - read as: it's not as cheap as in-line engine
4 cams (unless it'll run as 8V)
two outlets, longer exhaust, more difficult to construct a good 4-2-1; impossible to do a 4-1
guess the cons (mainly those about exhaust problems) are the main reason why we don't see those daily on roads
>>16042629
just get a subaru
Things for passengers to do while I'm drifting around a corner despite telling them I was going to in advance: yell so I get startled, lose control and almost crash

Take it to the track. My wife is more important to me than your ego.

Why do we allow cowards to drive? If you can't handle the heat, why not just take the bus instead?

If you have to choose between the most obtrusive driving aids(abs, very sensitive tcs, esp etc), or their complete lack for the rest of your life in all the cars you will own, which one would you choose?
>>16042214
Complete lack. As useful as traction control can be, I do a lot of off roading, so having any of that shit would make it stressful as fuck.
>>16042214
A shit electronics package is worse than no electronics package.
It's like having a dog that shits and pisses everywhere and chews up your shoes. At that point, there's no reason to not have it put to sleep.
I'll take a self driving Tesla over the Model T, thanks
Why is porsche still using the RR layout?
I thought that it was inherently flawed.
>>16042189
Because it's unique, and they pretty much perfected it to the point where it now drives better than 95% of the MR/FR competition.
please explain why you thought it was inherently flawed
>>16042215
All the weight is in the rear, so you have to use throttle to corner the car. Steering and braking also tend to be more numb in that layout
Anything that had mighty run, left its mark on racing history or changed racing because of its existence is welcome.
