>driving in heavy rain without lights on
This is honestly a major problem with automatic headlights. When its daylight but a downpour you forget to turn on your lights and are completely invisible.

Bad repair stories? Won't start on first crank, smell gas. Shop says need new fuel filter $37 and lines $12, 3.2hr 2 install @ $80Hr $256, New filter leaked they have to get another one.
>MFW I just paid an extra $240 to have a $12 tube installed.
>>16036434
Are you comfortable replacing fuel lines?
If no, suck it up.
I've billed 8 hours of labor (and $200 worth of fluids) on a $9 seal (rail car mover). But it needed doing, and my time and expertise is worth something.
The same is true for car mechanics.
Do it yourself if you don't want to pay for labor. Just remember, your time is worth something too.
>>16036468
No no, but if all that was needed replacing was the fuel filter, why get new the lines. When the filter leaked , I did not complain ( shit happens ) It was an afterthought, that all I needed was a new Fuel filter, and not new fuel lines +3hrs of labor? And I go to them because I want to support the local Biz in my City.
>>16036569
You replace the fuel filter if you're going to fix the lines because putting on a dirty filter is a turbo poorfag move. Sorry the part was bad, but a mechanic can't do anything about that except stock 2 of them, and they probably don't sell enough because most gas powered car drivers never change their fuel filter, they just wonder why their response goes to hell as the car ages.
You didn't just need a fuel filter, the lines were the problem.
Hey /o/ what engine is this?
a shit one
ferd or vw i have no idea
oh shit its a vw, coolant resevoir gives it away
Why does no one talk about this on here? They are cheap as shit new with a 4 wheel conversion.

If it's so cheap then where's yours?
I never knew about this. This is cool

Why is the Miata the only affordable sports car?
>>16036152
>Miata
>Affordable
Maybe a few years ago before everyone memed it to death.
Its a sports-car? i thought it was just a roadster/convertible..
I remember watching a 24 hours of Lemons race on youtube and there was a FWD Buick sedan just handing either a Miata or a rusted MR2 its ass. didn't think though things could turn at all..
>old
>lots were made
>weren't expensive in the first place
also they aren't really "sports" cars, it's just that they're lightweight and have 50/50 distribution so they're easy to take around corners making them sporty

What's so special about gas station branded oil?
Anytime I start my car my oil light stays on maybe for an extra second or two before turning off.. is this normal? I drive a BMW E46 M3. After I drive it around and turn it off and on it doesn't do it.. it seems like its just for cold starts.
>>16036060
>bmw
Yeah, it's normal
What year and how many miles?
Early S54s (2001-2003) had too close rod bearing tolerances and could spin them. S54s in general just like eating rod bearings if they get beat/abused (especially as track cars, but nowhere as bad as E90/92s)

20k Budget and want to go fast and loud but want something from the 21st century and don't want a corvette, 5.0 or an SS.
And I want something practical so I can DD for a year or 2 If i need. Seems roomy enough for that. Dont care about gas millage, my current car I had for a few years averages 19 mpg and I'm fine.
It's either this or a BMW N54. (2008+ 335i or 135i, capable of over 450+hp)

They exist. Just not for under 20k.
my dad used this as a dd back in the day
he also drove it on the track and liked it for the most part except he complained about the weight
personally i like it but of course i am a bit biased

how is that beefy

>Very nice styling, looks flashy (think Italian)
>Not a BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Corvette, or Muscle Car
>Prefer 'exotic' looking cars over the conservative German styling
>Nothing too small (Lotus, Alfa Romeo)
>Nothing pre-2000s (ie that Lotus Espirit flat hood, look)
>Prefer under $30k used
>Could go up to $50-60k if I had to
>Neither of these are 'stretching' my budget, just purchase costs I'd like to abide by
>Yes I can afford the tax, maintenance, insurance on a luxury/exotic car

Hey /o/,
I own an entertainment consulting firm, and have just begun the process of purchasing a new vehicle. It will be my dd, but will also be used to drive clients around when necessary. There is snow where I am based for at least a third of the year. Can you suggest some vehicles you think fit the bill? Open to car/suv, maybe a truck. Preferably sub $80k. I will answer as many questions as I can. Thanks!
>>16035428
Get a used mercedes s class.
2013 well optioned goes for around 40-60k used. Uber luxury.
If you fell for the AWD in snow meme, you can get their 4matic version.
Audi S4 would be fucking awesome in the snow and everywhere. That porsche cayenne is also a reliable vehicle and is just a more "luxury" version of the touareg (which is significantly cheaper but also good). Merc S class is also good but they're hefty buggers and waste a lot of gas. Don't get a truck if you want to shuttle people around
>>16035600
I don't understand the reference, but their 4matic version is what I'll check out.
>>16035626
Was never a huge fan of Audi, but I think the S4 is a bit small for what I'm thinking. Maybe the A6 or A7. The Cayenne has always been a favorite of mine, visually anyway.
What's the manliest car to get? I don't want anyone thinking I'm gay.
