Does anyone actually change their own oil anymore? It's the ultimate waste of time and makes my driveway smelly and gross. I also inevitably ruin whatever shirt I'm wearing and my hands end up stinking like oil for the rest of the day. All to save like 15 bucks.
Also risking crushing my head under my car.
yes changing your oil is a meme, you have been redpelled

Only got a little last night but it is all gone already. Was in buffalo earlier and it was just squirting slush from the sky. I like the snow as it helps justify the truck.

Sup m8s,
I have a nephew that really likes cars and he kinda knows about them. He really likes the RX8 and he found a mint one next to him for 3k. Thing is, he hasnt got a license yet (he's 17, Eurocucks I know) and he's afraid the thing will be gone in a year. His dad wont budge at all, won't buy it for him even though he bought his older son a 2k shitbox (that he paid 10k for kek). How can I help him? I can't assist him financially because he probably has more money than I do.
Is this even a good choice? The car is mechanically and visually sound, black with a dark blue tinge and it even has the OEM spoiler. A steal for 3k
Don't buy an RX8 for a retarded 17 year old, unless you really hate him.
He'll have other things to worry about in his young years than rotary maintenance, especially since he already sounds fucking clueless.
>>16318220
The engine will probably need to be rebuilt soon, Good deals like the almost always have a catch
It's another "guy who's slightly into cars discovers the rx8" thread
Don't do it, rx8 ownership takes special skill and autism and they're shit cars
A dude hooked some meters onto his car, he claims he thought his turbo might be malfunctioning.
German police thinks it's a bomb, and rips the cars apart. CANNOT MAKE THIS SHIT UP, senpai.

I mean, come on, how hard can it be to actually take a look instead of fucking up some guy's car?

Why bothering to give a fuck when you are above the law? I watched a customs official gas ax open a quarter million pound custom cooling assembly looking for drugs because the x-ray of it was "inconclusive". Almost bankrupted my previous employer in the process.
>>16318224
Damn man. Does your government not refund costs if the assumption ends up wrong? I should mention that the parking supervisor in the golf story was a female, so she probably flipped her shit once she saw gauges and wires.
c5 vette base model as a first manual car, how fucked am I?
I daily'd a motorcycle so I know how manual works, but I've only ever driven manual in emergency type situations ("u-uhh I can kinda drive manual I g-guess") so I've experienced maybe 2 hours of driving a 5spd v6 mustang and a 5spd corolla around. In both those cars I nervously drove them around without learning any feel on them and span the tires everywhere, mostly because the engines in both had zero power so they would easily bog or stall (moreso on the mustang).
Is manual in a torque filled V8 easier than on a shitbox engine?
>>16317947
Go for it, you learn quick if its the only car you drive.
From personal experience driving a c5: It can be a bit notchy going in between gears, and from the factory they are geared really high, so you can stall easy in 1st. However, I still recommend it.
Can't emphasize enough that you WILL learn QUICK and its not that big of a deal.
I learned to drive stick on my c5z. You'll be fine barring your not slow.
>>16317947
I learned stick on a blown Coyote 5.0 Mustang that had 560whp. You'll be fine. Shit was easy and you'll be doing WOT pulls within a week
Post pictures of Japanese cars in the 80's, 90's early 00's. Props to anyone who posts rare Midnight Club pics, Bozo and Magazine Ads <3
There's nothing much to say. Most of the interior bits and the whole car itself are largely similar to the existing E-Class.
The new stuff is that it's available with an all-new 4-cyl diesel engine(which I think the NA market won't get it.) But for others it consumes 4 liters per 100km which is great.
Standard on all models are the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission.
Side Profile.
"At market launch, there will be an initial choice between one diesel and three petrol engines with a range of outputs from 135 kW (184 hp) to 245 kW (333 hp). Further engine variants and 4MATIC versions will follow."
An AMG version is in the works.

I'll be honest with you an/o/n. This was a gift.
I used to be a lover of muscle cars, yet not know much about cars; however, when I got my first car i started wanting to know how it worked [i dislike trusting my life with something i don't have a general understanding on how it functions]
Then i discovered that its more of the closeted gay boy car, or the car that tells people look i like cool looking cars but don't care about the engine.
Also I disagreed with the crowd control meme, till I almost died.
waddup /o/
So I've got an 06 WRX hatch. Love the thing and I've dailyed it for a year. But it's also a little pricey to upkeep and I've wanted to learn how to wrench anyway, so I'm thinking I'm gonna grab a daily to practice working on and probably to daily.
I'd like to spend ~$1-$2k on something in good running condition. Don't care about the interior. Would really like something that's small, if not fun (RWD or maybe just a convertible). Initial ideas are:
-99-02 Saab 9-3 SE
-Mitsubishi Eclipse V6
-90s-00s shit, obviously
-This beautiful Geo Prizm:
https://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/5916601316.html
If I bump the price up, maybe:
-Miata if I get lucky
-80s-90s Mustang, hopefully GT
-Prelude
-Maxima
My question really is: are there any fun, cheap base price cars that aren't bad to learn how to fix with a decent aftermarket? The time/effort part isn't too much of a worry for me, I'm just asking to dodge something that'll put me in a casket
I take your silence as "buy a Civic," /o/
that's no fun

God I hate being a poorfag.
Have you ever found a car that just takes you over you want it so bad, but can't buy it? He won't take my car as a trade either.
This joker has 70k original miles, and it's a fucking 6-speed. Let me say that again.

Anybody know anything about head porting? Any tips? This is my first port job (1994 miata). I'm using a sanding bit on my dremel
Also holy shit the casting is terrible
Also what grit should I finish the ports with? Was thinking 200 grit on the intake side and 400 for exhaust. Planning on polishing the combustion chamber too with high grit + wd40
>>16316684
Oh shit nigger
Is that the intake?
