My girlfriend moved to Denver and wants an AWD vehicle to play in the mountains with(I will be following shortly). Not rock-crawling, but something able to access off-road trails. She doesn't make much money, so short-term and long-term budget is small. Probably $10,000 range, on a loan. She currently has a 2011 Mazda 3 with 120k miles that's in OK condition.
I know my cars but I know nothing of AWD/off-roaders. She's in love with jeeps for some reason, so she probably could get a grand cherokee WJ or WK.
I know there has to be a better option than this. Wat do?

Yea, I can. I handle first gear it just feels like it could stall at any moment. And it's not a smooth constant held RPM. I get it going, then it drops to 900 before coming back which worries me. I keep thinking one time I'll just stall doing it the way I do it. Not a quick launch either...

look up and see if there are any spec camaro racing or spec mustang racing, see how popular that is compared to spec miata racing? Theres a reason miata spec racing is popular.
Miata is cheaper and way more fun to throw around a track than it is in a muscle car.
that being said, Muscle cars have their pros as well, especially on a drag strip but thats pretty much it.

For reasons I can't disclose at this time, there is a variety of shit in my gas tank right now ranging from tiny wet paper particles, orange soda, small amounts of brake fluid, small amounts of brake cleaner, and probably some small plastic particles.
My question is: how big of a deal is this? Wont it just get combusted in the engine (if it even makes it there)?

Let me make one thing very clear:
I'm not your average neon owner. I'm not a ricer. My car is sculpted such that unless that air resistance is creating down force - it's not felt. I don't have any larger an exhaust than I need for maximum power. And I certainly don't have a cone filter hanging above the exhaust manifold. This car is built to have surprising manoeuvrability on the touge and surprise you even more on the drag strip. Sorry Americans, this is one Jap car that you _won't_ beat in that one insignificant area of racing. I've run 17 metric seconds in this thing in a metric quarter mile experience day. Do you even know the first thing you do to a car to improve its time on the strip? You do? I'm impressed. Oh you think it needs more power and tyre? Idiot. There's only one way to drive a neon, and that's with aggression in your heart and a dream in your eyes. Maybe one day I'll meet you at the strip. Maybe one day you'll think it's me but won't be sure. Just look straight ahead. I've got a sticker that says "It's me" and you'll see it soon enough.
