previous owner of my car painted the calipers red, the paint is now old and has flakes in spots.

I need to do the pads and rotors soon, is it worth it. is it worth it to paint em back to an aluminum color so I don't look like a douche with red calipers on a 4 door

Stencil brembo on them. Legit as fuark.
>>
>>16323641
Painting them while on the car is kind of a hassle, but, scrub them down and get off as much paint as you can and then degrease them, do not get paint or any cleaner on the pistons because you can damage the rubber seal, then hit them with something like a no primer paint of your color choice.

Personally I'd just use some high temp engine or chassis paint, in black, non-gloss. Chassis matte paint is nice for things you don't want rusting and keeping a nice clean, factory looking appearance.

I am changing the wheels on pic related and I am curious what brand of anti-seize you guys recommend for use on the lug nut threads?

Thank you,
rafael

Hi Rafael, hope you're okay.

I use loctite copper based stuff, the same as used to stop brakes squealing. I can't tell you the precise name off the top of my head but it has the word "brake" in it.

Kind Regards, Bilal
>>
>>16323199
Don't use anti seize on wheel studs. Anti seize acts as a lubricant and prevents proper torque from holding the lugs on.
If you're ever worried about then being seized to the studs, use a penetrating oil, or wd40.
>>
Dear rafael,
Your car loses to a 3k civic on a go-kart track, therefore it is complete shit and instead of anti-seize lug nut threads, you should consider either buying a new car or suicide.
Best regards,
Alphonse

Thinking about buying a p38. Anyone else here use it for a daily driver?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
I work in Jaguar and Land/Range Rover parts

Used to wreck out P38s but we stopped buying them.

They are fucking pigs, everything goes wrong with them to the point where we can't sell parts for the car. The only things we can sell is interior trim because by the time people sell their cars for scrap. They're either blown up or not a single things works on it anymore.

If you're looking for a english 4wd as a daily, The Disco 2 is becoming cheap and are very reliable. The things that are uncommon but does happen to go wrong with them is usually the ABS Modulator, Air Con Compressor and for some reason the brake master cylinder reservoir orings, RHF Window Reg and the wiper plenum will crack if it's an old car and gets hit by a decent size rock. Other than those, they're bulletproof.

You're probably thinking, "That's a lof of shit to go wrong" It's not, these things are pretty rare That's just what we tend to sell a lot of.

The V8s and the TD5s are both good engines surprisingly, I despise desiel motors but that's a good one

If you are going to get a Disco 2
Get a Disco 2A, That's the update model with improvements like a better trans, calipers, intercooler (TD5) and other shit

>I actually hate Land Rovers
>>
>>16323189
How are the Classics? (I think that's what they call the RRs before the p38)

Seems like if I was looking for something like OP I'd consider a Classic before a p38. Likely simpler so less to break.

I'm sure you get this thread every day, do does anyone know how to get into an alfa GT 2005?

locked the keys in the boot

if it was an older car I would try to use the handle through the window with wire, or pull up the door lock under the seal; but it's a nice car and I'd rather not fuck with it before I know what I'm doing
