I went to two other local dealerships after that and didn't have a much better experience with either. They all tried to con me into buying $5k+ cars.
What should I do, /o/? My car is fucked and I have no way to get back and forth from work, and I can't find anything for sale in the immediate area that isn't a colossal piece of shit.

Well my car won't work at all and the mechanic I had it towed to said someone put sugar or sand or something in my tank and apart from that listed about a hundred other things wrong with it. It won't run over 10 mph and sounds like a space ship taking off.

The race engine probably made all its power high in the rev range and next to nothing down low, so he simply didn't know where the power was until Bunta told him to rev it to 11k.

Powerband.
His original 4age was supposedly putting out 160-ish hp with the stock powerband (probably around 5,000-7,500)
His newer engine was a race version of the 20v 4age putting out 240-ish hp with a higher powerband (9,000-11,000).
Basically, the new engine was made to rev. If he didn't utilize the rpm, it wouldn't reach its power.
So yeah...

Why do people on this board compare the corvette with the GT-R so often? Yeah, the GT-R is better but it's double the price and needs an extra set of driving wheels to compete.
And it's only better by 2 seconds around a lap that favors an AWD drivetrain as opposed to any GT-R specific performance characteristics
Do Nissan fangirls not realize that the comparison makes THEM look bad?

not a common engine in the early years
in the 80's they started experimenting with 5cyl and balance them
this spawned the v10 in the 90's
but the fast paced world moved on in the earli 00's with green movement and saving the world
and the downsizing began
and the v10 last left behind

In 2014 there were several well-known and popular street tire choices and all were capable of competitive lap times. In 2015 Bridgestone launched their RE-71R tire and the fallout was epic. It was significantly faster than the 2014 options and left other tire companies scrambling to catch up. BFGoodrich was quick to answer with their Rival-S revision, however it generally proved to be slower than the same size RE-71R. What it lacked in sheer speed was made up for with wider sizes (up to 335/30/18). In some cases, the wider size was enough to make the Rival-S the preferred choice over the skinner RE-71R. 2016 brought very few changes as Dunlop, Hankook and Toyo relegated themselves to being the slower and longer wearing tires while Bridgestone and BFG continued to battle for top track times.

BFGoodrich Rival-S
BFG kept busy making tweaks by adding a new size to the lineup with a 245/40/15 in addition to finalized changes to their smaller sizes (3-rib 255 and narrower) in an effort to match the RE-71R. The new tweaks to the smaller sizes are meant to improve steering feel/feedback and help eliminate the “vague at the limits” feel. Early testing shows them to be several tenths of a second faster on an auto-x course than the previous Rival-S revision.

Bridgestone RE-71R
Utilizing the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” method, Bridgestone returns with their class leading tire. Testing is needed to show if they’ve brought enough to the table or if one of the new kids on the block will be the top tire this season. Expect faster braking, laser sharp steering response, and a very fine line of “over the limit.” These tires don’t like to be overdriven but if you teeter on the edge of their grip, they will reward with fast lap times.

Continental Extremecontact Sport
The previous Continental Extremecontact DW was the tire for rain traction and now has been replaced with the extremecontact sport. Even amongst classes where Hoosier slicks are allowed, it is not uncommon to find a set of “contis” waiting their chance should the heavens open and standing water abound. As an all-around tire these fell short of the previous Michelin Pilot Super Sport due to less dry traction. Continental hopes to have fixed that with increased dry traction and the same wet traction they have been known for.

Calling all britbongs, belgians, dutchmen, germans and danes...
I'm a Norwegian planning to drive from Eastern Norway to Birmingham in England. In February.
It's a short weekend trip (22-23 hours drivetime...) to pick up parts for my car.
The car has got Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 studded winter tyres (as is needed here in Norway in winter).
Would your respective governments allow me to

It sounds odd to demand me bringing a set of summers simply for taking a short roadtrip in February.

Highways tend to be icy too, at times.
Especially at night.
It's a 22 hour drive within speed limits. I can't crawl on summers with chains on them and summers can be scary as fuck during winter time even on bare roads. The rubber compound is too hard for the temperature.

I am looking for a list of performance cars with double wishbone suspension in front and either double wishbone or equivalent (multi link) in the rear. With all the talk about how well handling Japanese cars are it seems odd to me that quite a few come with MacPherson struts.
So far the only ones I have found are:

Solstice/Sky
FD RX-7
RX-8
Elise
Any others that you goys know off the top of your head?
