After reading a bit about Evos, which is best? Are all available in USA? I only see VIII-X on Craigslist and saw a cool VIII but if I have the chance a III or IV would be cool

IV then V, III, VI, VII, II, VIII, IX, I, X
>>
>>16433438
How retardedly hard would it be to get a IV or one of the older ones in general in America? Also what's so special about the IV then?
>>
VI is usually regarded as the best evo, especially the tommi makinen edition.

I need some advice. I need to go to the other side of town to get me a set of winter tires. The problem is that my car sits on summer wheels right now. The temperature is - 8c right now but it's expected to go up to - 1c during the day. The roads are clear of snow but I'm still trying to be cautious.
What are some advices that I should follow when trying to go on the road with summer wheels on?
Drive slow, brake long before you stop, don't accelerate in turns. What else?

Yeah just give yourself plenty of distance.
Wanna hear a fun story?
My 4x4 broke down. So driving wifes car to go shopping. Without warning the tire goes flat. Immediately ruins the tire as well as dents my wheel somehow. I never felt a harsh hit on anything.
So now i get to buy a new wheel and tire for the wifey.
This was all in 1 foot of snow btw.
>>
>>16433314
Just don't be a retard. Roads are dry? Treat it like it's wet out, your rubber won't grip as well but it will still grip. Go and put your winter tires on m8.
>>
>>16433314
Heres what will happen. The tires will be hard as hockey pucks. If the roads are clear and dry it wont be bad at all.

I'm playing GTA SA and you can rice up your car like pic related but it seems cockstar added this feature because it was cool back in 2004.

I look back at 90s car adverts and they look simplistic as fuck.

race cars started the fad. It started in the 1980's with Group B rally because the wild body kits gave them an aerodynamic advantage. By the early 90's, this idea was being applied to race cars everywhere. It was especially prominent in the JGTC, and then ricers wanted to emulate the look and bought wild body kits to get their cars to look like the race cars.

Don't know if I should post this here, or in vidya, but why do some racing games like the Gran Turismo series and Initial D based games have these rebadged Porsches instead of the real deal?
29 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>16432573
Because RUF is the real deal and Porsche is an expensive child's toy compared to them
Don't worry OP, you may be a faggot but at least you noticed
>>
>>16432573
I believe they had a deal with EA to only have them in their games, so all we ever see in other games is usually the Ruf
>>
>>16432573
Something about porsche not wanting to license its brand to video games.

Hey /o/, been eyeing this 88 Fiero GT with 139,000 miles for about half a year and its price keeps going down every month and its down to $3500. Fieros have always interested me and after doing some research 87 and 88 GTs seem to be the most desirable and kinda harder to come by.

The guy seems to be pretty forward that it isn't a perfect vehicle, and checking the VIN didn't raise any suspicions. I'm new to buying cars so I figured I'd post the ad itself:

>1988 Pontiac Fiero GT for sale. Regular oil changes, uses syncromesh in the Getrag. Comes with some extra parts and pieces, I'm getting out of the Fiero business for now.

>The good:
>Lots of work done.
>Shifter assembly/cables completely replaced/rebuilt, along with short shifter, using Rodney Dickman parts.
>Sunroof entirely rebuilt.
>Rear suspension almost entirely new, using Fiero Store performance poly parts/Rodney Dickman parts.
>Clutch/flywheel/slave cylinder brand new, still has a few miles left on the break in, using Spec parts.
>Aftermarket ignition coil
>Momo Steering Wheel
>Brake booster upgrade
>Aftermarket stereo, works with stock performance sub
>Paint is in decent shape, a few scratches here and there

>Replaced:
>Dew wipes (Fiero.nl vendor, did drivers side but still have to install passenger side)
>Door hinges rebuilt (Rodney Dickman, did drivers side but still have to install passenger side)
>Clutch master cylinder
Speakers
>Other stuff, can't recall everything

>The bad:
>The usual wear and tear on the interior - some chipped dash corners, leather driver seat needs to be recovered, and rear glove box cracked
>One sail panel is cracked, the other has heat spidering
AC needs recharging
>The engine could use a good bath...

Thoughts? My concerns are how much has been done to it/its mileage but it seems like with a little work it could be cool

check it out like any other vehicle, but pay attention to rust. The battery compartment and the sections of frame behind the trunk carpet are good indicators

the aftermarket parts that have been put on there (provided they've been put on properly) should have the car operating rather nicely

If you do buy it, be prepared to read up a lot on it. Fieros are hilarious special snowflake shitboxes, but there is plenty of documentation out there to allow you to solve issues you might have

Bought a 87 Supra. What should I do to it? Pic not mine but same model/color.

Does anyone on here drive an e38? I recently sold both of my cars and now I'm down to just my Buell and it's kind of cold for that. I have the opportunity to buy a very nice example, it was owned it's entire life by my elderly neighbor and has all the service records for anything ever done to it, it looks like a brand new car. I've always really admired these cars but I never really thought about buying one before, I'm familiar with doing preventative maintanence so that doesn't bother me. I'm curious to hear your opinions

Drove an E38 as my first car, actually. They are an absolute blast to drive and if you know about the maintenance required to keep these old beasts running, then I say go for it. It was probably my favorite of the cars I have owned.

If it's a 740, timing chains and tensioners and vanos just like the 540i. V12 is good.
>>
>>16430861
Don't get a V12, they're engineering and maintenance nightmares. Aim for a facelifted 740iL if you want the least maintenance bug bears but any of the V8s are good.

Buying a used motorcycle on craigslist for under $1000 because fuck spending a lot on a starter bike.

I've found a 1988 Suzuki GN250 and a 1987 Yamaha Virago VX535.

Both are bobber style bikes but the Virago looks like it's in better shape. Both are going to run me $700. I didn't really want a bobber but they're the only cheap things on craigslist.

Neither did a great job with pictures and so far only the Suzuki guy has responded to my text. He said that the bike "runs and drives has TONS of new parts".

I know neither of these are exactly a steal or great find, but what would do you guys think would be better suited for a new rider?

Am I getting ripped off badly spending $700 on an old bobber? I already feel a little gipped spending $700 on a 250cc engine..
