What is even the point of cars with engines with less than 10 cylinders? Are they even fun to drive?

no

You should try owning a car first.

Wasn't the E60 M5 a shit show for reliability? Fatt Farah said they drunk a "horrifying amount of oil" and "if that's the best BMW can do we should all be worried"

Is it as shitty as everyone says?

Yes. So shitty that I ended up buying a Malibu.
>>
>>16710503
Yes and no.
The Build quality is absolutely horrendous. Panels that don't quite align right, shit material and clunking suspension are considered normal

HOWEVER. Do not think this means they are unreliable. That is a myth. World War 3 could break out and those things would still be running like nothing happened
The 2.2L Pushrod is SLOW.
The 2.3L Quad 4 (1995 only)/2.4L Twin Cam (1996-2002) are fun high revving screamers. These are what powered all the Toyota branded Cavaliers sold in Japan.
The 2.2L DOHC Ecotec (optional in 2002, standard from 2003-2005) is glorious. It's reliable, but has the aftermarket to keep up with K-series Hondas. GM has refined this engine. Hell, you can find a version of this engine powering multiple Cadillac models.
>>
Drivetrain is pretty good but the rest is GM shit, like the rest of GM

It'll probably blow the doors off of 90% of the cars you'll meet on the road, but if you don't like it, convince Mommy and Daddy to get something baby OP likes.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-02-23/nissan-savior-ghosn-hands-keys-to-new-ceo-to-focus-on-alliance
>Carlos Ghosn is relinquishing his CEO role at Nissan Motor Co. and turning over day-to-day control to Hiroto Saikawa as he focuses on strengthening the carmaker’s alliance with Renault SA and Mitsubishi Motors Corp.

>The move caught some observers by surprise. Only last October, Nissan elevated Saikawa to the co-CEO position along side Ghosn. However, the strategic challenges facing Nissan and its French alliance partner Renault have prompted the 62-year-old executive to step back. Ghosn continues on as chairman of Nissan and the CEO and chairman of Renault. He’s also chairman of Mitsubishi Motors, a strategic partner 34 percent owned by Nissan that’s trying to regain consumers’ trust from a months-long fuel economy scandal.

>Ghosn built his reputation on one of the best turnaround efforts at Nissan, which he brought back from the brink of bankruptcy and is now bigger and generates more profits than Renault. In his time as CEO, Ghosn has steered Nissan to more than double the number of cars sold to about 5.6 million last year and increase the operating profit margin to 6.5% from about 1%. He’s also been crucial to holding the Renault-Nissan partnership together, according to Maryann Keller, independent auto analyst in Stamford, Connecticut.

>By adding Mitsubishi Motors to the group, Ghosn is attempting to meld three carmakers into a partnership that sold almost 10 million vehicles combined last year. That put it just shy of the top three carmaker groups led by Volkswagen AG. Among the first results of cooperation between the three companies, Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors will share a common platform for a budget electric vehicle in China, Ghosn said.

Thoughts /o/?
I've often heard he was the driving force that got the Japanese board to accept the idea of the Leaf.

Guys I'm looking at doing a PT job as a valet and the description says I must know how to drive auto and manual. Auto is easy, but I've never driven manual. I don't know anybody with a manual car so I can't practice. Please teach me how to drive/give sources I can read and watch please, thank you.

If I'm understanding the process correctly, it should go something like this:

>Get in car
>Keep foot on brake, jiggle the gearstick (left to right) to make sure I'm in neutral while checking that the handbrake is on
>If so, keep foot on brake and clutch at the same time and crank the engine
>Started, OK cool
>Keep foot on brake, release hand brake, give some gas, take foot off brake and hit the clutch and shift to first gear and start going
>Park car and be cool

Here's the how to:
>Step 1: Ask on 4chan
>Step 2: Realize you're a fucking idiot
>Step 3: Watch 5 minute youtube video
>Step 4: Whatever you do, do NOT practice in a car, the more you read/watch the same simple steps, the more you'll learn exactly the motions you need to do!
>Step 5: You can now drive a manual
>>
>>16716293
Take the job OP, you don't really need to practice on a manual vehicle to learn manual
>>
>>16716319
>Step 1: Ask on 4chan
Seems like good advice

>Step 2: Realize you're a fucking idiot
I already knew that thanks

>Step 3: Watch 5 minute youtube video
There are like a thousand videos over 10 minutes long, if you know of a good short one to the point please post it

>Step 4: Whatever you do, do NOT practice in a car, the more you read/watch the same simple steps, the more you'll learn exactly the motions you need to do!
gee thanks anon

>Step 5: You can now drive a manual
sweet

Not OP but I was looking at civic yesterday aswell, $2500 80K miles 1.4i first owner and full service history, has some options aswell. Would make for a nice car for my GF and for me to hoon about economically, i just cant get over that gearstick placement, it just looks like it's a complete pain and not well placed for regular driving.

A lot of standard impalas are owned by people who first got interested in impalas through lowriding but also became interested in stock restored impalas in the process.

People hate lowriders but I dare say that if it wasn't for lowriders many impalas would have just rusted away. They are a big, family oriented mid range affordable luxury market car. Most people are more interested in higher end cars, and performance oriented vehicles like camaros, mustangs and challengers.

TL:DR Lowriding has actually saved many impalas from rusting to nothing.

Very, not a lot of cars have depreciated under $5k in the last 3 years and are worth buying.

Jesus

I probably wouldn't recommend an old ass car like a CRX either
>>
>>16710807
not very. there are better (newer) cars that are in the same price range while some of the ones on the list have been meme taxed beyond being worthwhile.

We know the answer is no but its still nice that the French are trying.

The original A110 was a proper 911 competitor.
This is just under powered.

porsche makes are actually quite good, unless people are in it for looks alone there's no reason for them to get this over a 911

No.

But it deffinately gives peope looking at the alfa 4C a similar option.

911 buyers have brand loyalty

Is there a current production car that is suited for offroading? Off the top of my head I think for offroading you want a solid drive axle (or is it independent?)
