Found a 1995 Audi 90 quattro with 90000 miles one owner for 1800 dollar. It drives great and the parts are cheap should I get it? https://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/cto/6003773368.html
Yup. Pre-VW Audis are great. That one has the V6, would have been better if it had the 5 cylinder. Still not a bad deal.
These have godlike rustproofing.
A common failure point is the wiring running to the trunklid, make sure to inspect that closely since it can result in a ton of electrical bullshit down the line.
thanks I'm heading over to pick it up. Any other things to check out? It is an Arizona original car so no rust worries here
Hi /o/
Finally decided to get a new car. I want luxury this time around, so I'm thinking of buying an audi a3. I've got a kid now so I'll need the space of a sedan. No hatchbacks or wagons please. Sedan only.
I'd get the 1.8 Fwd one, I dont think I'll need a 4x4 a3 as I dont get a lot of snow where I live. Also want the automatic because sometimes I drive in traffic. The 1.8 should be good on gas I think? I'd get little to no options, whatever keeps the price down.
already got the muscle-car bug out of me as I'm coming from a 2011 camero(automatic, but it had semi-manual mode). So I want a comfier ride. And no I cant drive manual..dont want it.
Any thoughts? Concerns?
Just get a Golf/Jetta or Octavia, literally the same car but cheaper.

vw is shit m8
>BMW, Mercedes or Lexus money on a literal VW Jetta
What's the most dramatic mechanical failure you've ever had happen to you? Drive train, brakes, etc. Mine was after I fucked up replacing my timing belt on an interference engine, fucking up all my valves. Ended up just selling it as-is since I was ready for a new car anyways. Pic not mine.
i had made a motorized bicycle back in '14, was powered by a B&S 127 3hp engine. but i used a cheap ass bike with way too thin metal. after about 200-300km of driving it it all started to bend. and then the chain slipped off and fucked up the whole rear end of it. ended up dragging the whole bloody thing home 2km. but it was worth it. it was so much fun.
that's the closest i get to a mechanical failure.
here is a pic of it

seized an old yz125 up. next best was burning an exhaust valve on my Tacoma so bad it made 0 compression and ran on 3 cylinders. still started up and ran reliably, but was slow as fuck. WOT up erry hill
Rod bearing went out in my sled and one of the pistons had pits all across it from running lean. Different sled i had siezed up and bent a rod too.
So the MR2 I just picked up is lowered about an inch off the ground, I can't even jack it up because I can't fucking see under it.
How the fuck do I unrice the suspension? It's fucking stupid
Drive it up on to a piece of wood.
>>16711598
why did you buy a car with fucked up suspension?
>>16711621
If I had thought about things before I'd bought them I would have a lot more money. Regardless the MR2 was cheap and in alright condition.
> be 30, just had a baby. He's 7 weeks old. Realized I can quit my job 2 years earlier if I sold my car and drive a shit box.
Have you guys considered driving something less expensive to save money? I'm guilt ridden cuz my car is a selfish purchase and I can use that money elsewhere.
>had a baby
Cuck.
>had a baby
>considered driving some less expensive
>save money
you could have saved money by removing your balls since you clearly dont use them
>>16710955
Yeah use that money to invest in a mutual fund. 10k is all you need to have fun in a car.
>be tired old man
>turn up at racetrack in shitty pick-up truck
>everyone else is driving proper race cars
>lotus evora, lambo huracan, nissan gtr etc
>way faster than everyone even while showboating
>get told off for drifting
Is there even one driver out there more based than Tiff Needell?
>>16710703
>tfw no british racing driver uncle
I DIDNT ASK FOR THESE FEELS FAMIRINO
>>16710703
Tiff Needell was always the better "old driving journalist", better than Clarkson. Restrained comedy, decent journalism, actual racing experience not just writing for a newspaper. And more importantly, a cool temper so he doesn't punch out television producers.
>>16710806
>Tiff Needell
>Comedy
Fuck right off.
I'm going to look at a 1995 Jaguar XJ today. Tell me about this car /o/
if you dont know enough already, you are going to have a VERY bad time.
>>16710595
Ford started reworking the Jag in 95. It went from high to low maintenance. Very comfortable. Cheap yet very classy. I plan to get one someday.
XJ6 or XJ12? Expensive to own, expensive to maintain. Rip your wallet if something breaks
>but that's never stopped anyone
Can i get a bank to get me this car if my credit score is 700s and im 23
>>16709577
>2004
No.
>>16709577
Even if you get loan rate will be very high. Credit score can be high with younger people because you have low dept. I am not saying that is your situation but that is most common.
Score is one thing but you will need to have income to prove that you can afford 44k car.
If you want to take ur 700 score to next lvl and you need car, just lease a nice car.
>>16709577
pay cash dumb faggot
I love 90's cars, I want to know cars like pic (Celica 1993).
Good looking but not so expensive.

IT IS FINALLY A THING
I never asked for this
they actually did it, they produced it, now they have a showroom....
Yay
What's the next meme car?
Back in 2008ish it seemed like e30s were the car of choice for /o/s. Now it seems to be miatas.
what's the next meme?
>>16706885
Guilias
toyobaru
now that 3k civics = early 2000s civic = tranny failures, people will jump to Toyota
But Toyota is too common so people will start memeing Lexus instead. Lexus IS and ES from early 2000s can run on regular gas... both run a non turbo 2JZ too...A luxury car, soft ride, with regular gas and a 2JZ?? let's the memes commence
What if Dodge is actually pulling the Viper off for now and is gonna pop out a mid-engined Viper after a while?
>If that happens, would you buy a mid-engined Viper over a C8 mid engined Corvette?
I never felt this sad for a car going out of production and I'm not even American and I love this car to death.
You can't have a Viper shaped mid-engined car.
>>16706048
>turbo I3 in rear
>whole front is now a big frunk for your groceries
>>16706050
>turbo I3
>in a Dodge Viper
i am buying a new car with stick and will attempt to bring it home without ever having driven a manual
what is a list of things that could go wrong?
1. you die
2. someone else dies
3. all of the above
pretty good outcomes iyam
>>16711501
Stalling in traffic. That's about it
If you ask the dealership, they might be able to teach you
Lol I'm also looking into doing this
But I'm thinking I'll have someone drive it home for me so that I can just practice while comfy at home
I heard inline 6 engines are probably becoming more popular in the future again because of some reason I forgot. Some new tech works really well with them.
Maybe this will also help your 5 pots.
Yfw no automaker will ever make an innovative, interesting or otherwise different car ever again
>>16699406
the general simplicity of e-cars would enable just that but it gets choked out right from the start by safety regulations.

What kind of fag has someone take a picture of their car while they're sitting in it? Fag

This is what happens when a beta white man breeds with an ugly asian woman who has mental issues and hates her own race. Unfortunately, this comprises about 80% of all white man / asian woman relationships.
