Who else fell for the long tube headers meme?
>spend 2 fucking days installing long tube headers in my 5.0 Coyote Mustang
>had to remove steering column, starter, exhaust, air intake, battery and battery tray, dipstick, motor mounts, lift engine
>fags on forums told me I would gain 30-40rwhp with a tune
>install them after countless cursing and having to tighten 16 bolts with a tiny 8mm non ratcheting wrench with literally zero room
>sounds good at WOT but dog shit 23/6
>sounds like I have a leak but really it's just the thinner pipes
>can literally hear the gassing flowing through the pipes and it sounds like a metallic hissing leak but really it's not
>car wakes the on startup
>the annoying exhaust resonance can be heard from under the car if you park to a curb, wall or even a bush
FUCK long tube headers. I want to take these off and put my stock manifolds on but I don't want to have to buy stock gaskets, bolts and go through 2 days of madness all over again.
DON'T BUY LONG TUBE HEADERS
>>16710527
>doesn't tune the ECU

>>16710527

An /o/ based project will be hopefully constructing a fan-dub of the popular drifto animu. We have a discord and are just about to the point of making our first scene. definitely recruiting any /o/tists that would like to help out!

For anybody interested as well, here is the script to our sort of "test scene"

What was the greatest period of automotive customization and expression, and why was it the peak of the golden era of rice, between 1999-2004?
https://stickydiljoe.com/2012/05/11/exclusive-content-the-import-car-show-scene-from-99-2001/
RIP.
>>16708058
you mean the 1950s-1960s? no, a bunch of beaners sticking stupid looking vinyls and rims they bought at autozone on civics is not "the greatest period of automotive customization and expression" you faglord
I know the taste is questionable nowadays, but I still love how it was such a huge explosion of car modding and expression. It's almost like it was a renaissance of sorts.
Maybe I just have heard too many accounts through rose-colored glasses of shitty boomers, but back in the original "hod rod" era it seemed like there was a similar love for cars and customization out there, but more in the sense of cobbling wacky solutions together and having the local police more interested in actual cops and robbers shit as opposed to appeasing soccer moms complaining about some rat rod.
But yeah the whole golden era of rice was cool, simply because people were always trying to break the mold. There was no stigma against really going out on a limb and doing something batshit, even if it was something purely cosmetic. I remember seeing an Integra converted to center-drive with a full custom fiberglass interior. Yeah it was fuckin' gaudy dragon-scales or some shit with screens all over it, but who puts the time into that sort of thing anymore?
Hey guys! im an extreme newfag when it comes to electronics shit in cars. im currently attempting to install my two 12"s and my 1200W amp to my factory head unit in my 2000 3rd gen Eclipse GS. pls help
Well, whats the exact problem?
DONT DO IT
shitty mods will only take away from the value of your car

What does/o/ think of the Fiat 500 Abarth?
I've always thought they were pretty quirky, and now that prices are getting lower and lower, it might be a fun little car to drive around town in.
At first I was concerned about reliability, but apparently the 2013+ models got all the bugs fixed.
Again, the price. I'm looking at a 2013 with 64k miles for $9,800. Seems like a steal to me.

Why does /o/ have such a hardon for Audi?
Even when nobody mentions them, someone will make a post bashing Audi.
>/o/ collectively hates VW

we hate VAG, especially the divisions that try to pass themselves off as being higher quality.
because /o/ is poor and can't afford anything but a miata or $3k civic

Would a Top Fuel dragster beat a F1 car around a nascar oval track?
let me get this straight, you want to know if a car designed and engineered to only go straight for a few seconds is fast that car design and engineered to do what it was designed and engineered to do?
>>16709125
top fuel cars arent designed to turn, so no
>>16709125
Are modifications allowed to either car? Assuming the dragster is able to make the corners I can get a bit autistic with math if you want.

Hey guys, I'm considering buying a 350z but I'm 6'4" and the size of the G35 is a bit more appealing to me.
My question is mainly about reliability. I've been told that the G35 is less reliable and more expensive to fix than the 350z, is this true? Is the 350z a better performance car? I'm not just asking numbers, I'd like people who've experienced driving these cars to weigh in.
>>16714702
they're both shit. get a manuel g37 instead. It's better in every way.
>>16714710
Can't afford a G37, they're a good deal more expensive.
I will be buying a manual for sure though, should have mentioned that.
>>16714702
Drive both. buy the one you like more. I like how the z looks better. That's just like my opinion though man.
Anyone else /test drive cars they have no intention of driving/ here?
I want to try out a bunch of my goal cars to see if I actually will like driving them but I feel bad pretending like im interested in buying
>>16714549
You should feel bad, you're just wasting the salesman's time, and losing him money.
>>16714568
But what if Im fantasizing about a car for years and it ends up sucking to drive
