Hi there! As an absolutely new to car modification, I would really like to know some basics to understand, what and how could be done to a car. I understand a basic "How it's done", but to make my dream come true (I really want to build an awesome powerful retro Saab or Volvo for myself) I reallt want to dive into details. Any info such as books/videos/interviews/web sites would be very helpful.

Looking at buying my first "newish" car.
Both the GTI and Audi are similarly priced
Audi is AWD which i like.
Golf is Hatchback which i like.
I like the GTI because it still feels like a sports car, but i like the Audi for the creature comfort
Currently have an 03 RSX Type S and a 99 Audi a4 thinking of selling both to get the new car

Hey /o/ . . . so I got a G35 Sedan and everyone is telling me to put on a custom exhaust and a cold air intake. Is that just stupid though? I don't plan to boost the engine... it's just a DD. Will CAI+Exhaust as only mods actually increase performance, or will it just be noisy?

Unless you do a full exhaust, the difference will probably be negligible.

Keep in mind a lot of exhausts will drone to some degree at highway speeds, and those K&N filters require regular cleaning and re-oiling.
They both make cool sounds though.

Hey /o/ I plan on buying an old evo looking at a VI for a fun DD that you can throw around the highway. Anybody have experience with this.

Hey br/o/s, looking for some help on how to get a job in the automotive industry.
I'm pretty sure everyone here loves cars so I thought this was a good place to ask.
The question is:
> What degrees should people get in order to get into the auto industry?
Me personally, I like mainly the IT part of it, also how engines work and things like that also interest me (if I could mix the two that would be great), so what would be the degree that would make the most sense for me?
Feel free to share a bit of your background if you'd like too (for the people that are IN the industry)
Any tips from Engineers and stuff alike are greatly apreciated.

Cars are complicated things, valuable degrees include Mechanical Eng, Mechatronics Eng, and Software Eng. There are a lot more jobs in automotive manufacturing than there is in design. Also, a lot of manufacturing is done by third-party suppliers, rather than major auto companies themselves.

some schools have auto industry specific degrees (and i dont mean UTI). also a school with a formula SAE program would be a big plus.
i'm not in the auto industry but have friends who are, and i used to work at an IT staffing firm.

Hello, Lads. Since the passing of my father (1820-1864, rest in peace) I've recently come into possession of a rather lovely carriage (Dual Over-Horse Carriage, 2 Horsepower, 4 seater, Crop-and-Rein steering) but since I'm not used to such a luxurious overland barge I was wondering if there were any special maintenance items I should be aware of. I'm used to riding a single sports pony, you see.
The one thing I'm really concerned about is that the horses that come with the carriage require Premium Hay, but nobody in my town sells it. Is there some way I can alter my regular hay to be premium? I'm not sure what sort of internal damage might happen if I feed them anything less than the best, but maybe you lads might know something I don't.

Well, I don't really know about your specific carriage and your specific horses, but newer ones can handle regular hay just fine. Just expect the power to be lowered to ~1.3-1.5 hp, and you'll need a little more hay in volume than usual.

What the hell is there to like about the Murcielago? It looks almost exactly like the Gallardo, which looks like a piece of shit.
And the Aventador looks extremely similar to both of those pieces of shit.
