I have an '12 equinox with 60k miles that we bought when we found out my wife was pregnant with our first kid. I sold a bulletproof honda civic with over 100k having cost me nothing but pads and rotors once and a set of tires or two.
fast forward a year and a half and this shit equinox with just over half the mileage is costing thousands of dollars for anything from power steering pump to back hatch hydraulics to front driverside window wont operate anymore.
We obviously are prioritizing what gets fixed first and as of this last few weeks we have been noticing and increasing chattering coming from the front passenger side wheel well.
This is what i can tell
>metallic chattering or tinking
>right side
>only starts when im doing sweeping right turns(the car is decompressing the right side suspension)
>scales linearly with speed, not revs
>will stop after a while when the car straightens out.
I dont have a great amount of trust in the mechanics around here to not rip me off so i want to bring it in knowing as much as i can.
TLDR; cars a piece of shit, green text is symptoms.

Okay /o/ I need some help or an opinion on what to do.
I just bought a used honda from a guy that said he lost the original key to the car with the FOB on it, but he still had another key without the FOB. The key works in the ignition, unlocks the trunk and works on the glove box, but not on the door. I went to the honda dealership to have a new key cut with the FOB, they did, and the FOB cannot be programmed to work on the car. It doesn't lock, unlock, open the trunk, or set the alarm off. The physical key doesn't fit in the door, but fits in the ignition, glove box, and trunk.
The fucking crazy thing is, it cannot start the car even though it looks completely the same as the old key does. It just sits there trying to turn over but never does. I pop the old key in and it starts right up. Honda sat there for 2 hours trying to figure it out and they couldn't before they closed their service area, and they asked me to come back again on tuesday morning so they would have more time. I called up the guy that I bought it from asking him what happened with the lock system and I recorded the call so I could have the dealership listen.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I'm pretty sure the door lock is just fucked up or something, but the fact that the new key looks exactly the same and doesn't work on the ignition? Or that it can't be reprogrammed to work on the car? What the fuck does he mean "canceled the key"?
