What killed the Personal Luxury Car? I loved them. If you've ever driven one, you know how awesome they were. Stylish, big, roomy, comfortable, powerful, every option imaginable as standard equipment.
It's been 10 years since Chevy made the Monte Carlo, which was the last hanger-on. Now we have nothing buy but boring generic 4 door econo-boxes.
Bring back the 2 doors. People who know miss them.

Everybody got poor except for the 1% of people who already had money in the first place.

Luxury SUV's
Essentially, people just have bad taste now. I blame urban rap culture for this.
>>16768660
The W-body Monte Carlo was anything but personal or luxury.
Basically, the late domestic mid to full size two door cars became associated with trailer parks and shit tier white people driving the ugly "eliminator special Daytona dale junior #3 edition" Monte Carlo with the garbage 3800II or shitty unreliable eldorado. That nobody with money to buy new wanted to associate with a car that screams "I won my workmanship comp suit and settled for a lump sum payment ".
Now the trash all go for big $60k trucks that they think make them look like they contribute to our decaying society.
How can Takumi even compete with him?

So my buds got a 90' f150 with a 351 in it.. and I know the Grand daddy marquis is a luxury car.. but, ehhh, you think ill be able to fit a 351 in that?
Yes or No, basic explanation please
(pic is related) just hit 68,000 original mi
Yes. Source: It was available with the 351 from the factory, and the 351 is just a 302 with a taller deck height for longer stroke.
>>16768417
Great to hear, thanks
351 fits fine, run 351 swap headers for a fox and modify a fox H pipe to fit.
If you want to stay fuel injected, you'll have to find an intake that will fit under the hood, stock truck won't clear (and also flows like shit). You can track down a lighting lower and run an exploder upper.
Nothing special about a truck 351, a 90 isn't even a roller block. It has a lame cam and failry shit tier e7's (though those are still better than the e6's 86-91 lopo 5.0 panthers got)
I'd stab in a decent cam, better heads, at least some gt40/p's, and all the supporting mods.
Bare minimum a shift kit for the AOD and a decent convertor.
Don't forget gears out back, the stock 3.08 open is shit. Find a K code (3.55's, limited slip) out of a HD tow package car and slide the whole rear end under it.
Pic related- typical day in a shit hole euro paradise.
I hope thats fake, then again its a europoor

The US isn't any better. I got a ticket because the cop could see the top of my tires. Apparently the vehicle code requires fenders for some reason.
>>16768294
>for some reason
For a very good reason, you stupid cunt.
Were baby boomers aware of 80s-90s cars? like did they even think they had it good? prices low, car quality good?
How can you even be a baby boomer and not be a car enthusiast ?
>>16768109
>How can you even be a baby boomer and not be a car enthusiast ?

I'm a german car enthusiast and plan to visit the US in Summer, and go on a trip from coast to coast with some friends.
I was wondering if it's possible for a foreigneer to buy and drive a car across the country. Once we're in California we plan to just take it to a Junkjard.
Also what car for around 1k$ would you recommend?
>>16768108
>1k
>drive across the country
I don't think that's happening senpai.
>>16768108
Just rent a car, 1000 Dollars are plenty for a car for a few weeks.
>>16768157
The only ones I keep finding are Renault Clios or something like that for way over 3k, excluding gas
>>16768147
Really? Here you can buy pretty reliable cars for around 1k Euro so I rhought I wouldn't be very different in the US
>mfw 99% of people only like rare/medium rare steaks just because that's what the 'pros' and media tells them how they're supposed to have it.
That and because it's what tastes the best

I like my steak at whatever it comes out at
Had my engine start knocking on Monday, got an oil change and metal shavings everywhere. The car is under warranty (2015 Mustang v6) They've said they'll replace it with a new engine. what's a solid car for a first time driver that's lightweight, solid around corners, capable of a lot of mods, and can retain its value over time?
No.

NA Miata
I want a car that:
>has double wishbone on all four corners
>is not a civic
>is not an integra

Hello fellow partners,
Let's have a discussion about achieving the highest satisfaction rating for our passengers, also any stories you may have of stand out moments, particular people who stuck with you, long fares or really fucking good money days. Where you drive, your vehicle, what your rating is, number of 5 star ratings you have and any accolades you would like to mention. All followed up by any advice you would like to give others.

>21 9 great conversation, 6 excellent service, and 2 above and beyond. 4 notes that are like great conversation and one that says great driver.
Keeping your interior clean and smell free. Clean windshield. No blasting trap music or anything but certainly feel it out. I generally make small talk and ask people about what they're getting into, how they've been as of late. More of a social tip is when someone mentions something, peer into that a little more. I find talking with my passengers easy and I would say they feel the same with me. Some don't like to talk, sometimes there are language barriers but always polite. Each ride is a new one and an opportunity to make a good impression.
Highlights would include rushing a guy to LAX from Hollywood Bowl in something ridiculous like 25 minutes, speeding weaving in out of lanes because the guy told me to. Ends up handing me a 20. Nice guy!

>tfw badly want to be a driver for uber

I'd gladly take a 2010s shitbox if it means I can drive around at night for uber.
>bring an uber driver with my AW11
It could be a laugh at times I guess
>>16768462
Wouldn't meet the requirements.
That said, a shitbox version of uber would be funny
I realize this isn't a DIY forum, but how would I make one of these?
It would be awesome.

You need to take a true katana and thrust it down through the stick shift, splitting the original and pressure-bonding the hardened blade steel into the linkage. Remember, katanas can cut inferior homogenous steel, so be careful that you've got it lined up right or you could end up severing your entire transmission.
>>16767611
Start by folding the steel over 200 times in a forge.
Alternatively buy an umbrella, but be carful police cant tell the difference between an umbrella and a gun.
Seriously, though, just go on EBay or alibaba.

Because their target costumers are the kind of people that say "oh I don't care what my car looks like, as long as it gets me from A to B xD!"
I have a pretty beat up 4 cylinder silver Honda Accord LX sedan whose leather seats have gotten all hardened up and has a million dings on the exterior. runs great though
how do i SOUP IT UP?
how do i make it more KICKASS?
get a tune and paint your steelies gold
replace the seats with stocks seats from another accord.
